      Plaza de Colón is one of Madrid's most iconic spaces, dedicated to the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Located at the intersection of the Salamanca and Chamberí districts, it is easily recognizable by the imposing statue of Columbus that presides over the square, mounted on a high neo-Gothic pedestal. In addition, the square has large garden areas, fountains and monuments that pay tribute to the history of Spain and America.
