Get ready for a unique and unforgettable adventure in the heart of Tierra del Fuego. The experience begins in Ushuaia, traveling along the legendary National Route 3, flanked by the imposing silhouettes of Mount Olivia and the Cinco Hermanos, which mark our route to one of the most magical corners of the south: Laguna Esmeralda.
Once in the Tierra Mayor Valley, we begin a 5 km trek (10 km round trip), but this is no ordinary hike. Equipped with crampons, headlamps, and walking sticks, and guided by expert local guides, we enter the sub-Antarctic forest under the stillness and mystery of the night.
The darkness transforms the landscape: the sounds of the forest intensify, the light of the stars guides our way, and each step becomes a deep connection with the nature of Tierra del Fuego. Along the way, we will cross glacial valleys, ancient riverbeds marked by millennia of erosion, with explanations that reveal the geological history of this environment.
Upon arrival at the Mountain Refuge, next to the Esmeralda Lagoon, an intimate and welcoming moment awaits us: a hot dinner by the warmth of the wood stove, surrounded by the silence of the mountains. This refuge offers not only physical shelter, but also a pause for contemplation and connection with oneself and the environment.
The activity is subject to local weather conditions, but you will always be accompanied and ensured the safety of our tour guides. It is a sensory, introspective, and deeply emotional experience, ideal for those seeking to explore Patagonia in a different way: walking at night through one of its most iconic landscapes.
