VIP David & Duomo Tour: Early Accademia Access & Skip-the-Line Dome Climb

by Walks of Italy Duration 3h Free cancellation available No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is $118

With its wealth of Renaissance art and centuries-old architecture around every turn, there's no shortage of cultural heritage on display in Florence. Seek out 2 of the city's must-see sites and make the most of your visit to each, beating the crowds and skipping the lines to see Michelangelo's David and climb to the dome atop Florence's Duomo cathedral.

Rise and shine to meet up first thing with your guide, who's orchestrated the perfect sightseeing outing, factoring in timing, skip-the-line entry, and special access to make sure you get the most out of every minute. Step inside the Galleria dell'Accademia right as the doors open, avoiding the crowds that throng the gallery later in the day, and set up close to David, Michelangelo's sculptural masterpiece, as well as the unfinished works known as the Slaves.

From there, continue on to the Baptistery of Saint John, a rarely visited gem that contains incredible artwork within its octagonal walls. Hear tales of the fascinating Medici family as you pass through the bronze doors by Ghiberti, and then see works by Michelangelo and Donatello at the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.

Inside the Duomo itself, get special access to go beyond the ropes and visit a secret room where original statues from the cathedral's facade are stored. Finally, gaze out over the city from the terraces and skip the line to climb to the top of Brunellechi's magnificent dome, the largest masonry dome ever built and an incredible feat of Renaissance engineering.

Awesome tour. Worth every penny. Getting in to each site with no wait was great. The tour guide Angelo made everything come to life. He had us captivated. The done climb is quite the challenge, and if you have mobility or claustrophobia issues don't even consider It.

Tour guide Elena, was fabulous. Tour timing was great. In Accademia first thing and then followed the schedule. A couple of glitches due to national holiday in Italy but these were handled professionally and we did not miss anything. Would recommend Walks of Italy to anyone.
