Overview

Join IAA for two weeks of weaving on the Silk Road. Start your journey with a relaxing day in Tashkent and welcome dinner in a beautiful garden. Venture to the capital of “Atlas” weaving, Margilan. See sights in Kolkand and have lunch in a tea house along the way. Spend a week in the studio learning the history and process of weaving “Atlas.” Take a small excursion to a pottery studio in Rishtan to learn more about handicrafts in the Fergana Valley. Head to Samarkand to see Uzbekistan's renowned historic sights and learn more about carpet weaving and embroidery. Take courses on both to develop a rounded sense of weaving and fabric work in Uzbekistan. Return to Tashkent for a market tour and farewell dinner.
