A visit to the windmill village of Zaanse Schans is a must-see when visiting Amsterdam. Located 20 km from the city, this charming countryside village offers a quite place of life amidst its fields and green wooden houses. The village also offers a nice way to experience the creations of wooden clogs and tasting the traditional dutch cheese.
We meet at Amsterdam centraal station and we depart in a sustainable way with a quick train to Zaanse Schans. Zaanse Schans is a historic site where to find the beautiful windmills from 1600, the cheese factory and the clog factory.
Along with the guide, you will visit the village, enjoy the nice and quite atmosphere, the typical green wooden houses used by the locals, along with small bridges that link the streets of the village.
We will have time to Capture pictures of the windmills and escape the hustle and bustle of city living and experience a gentle pace of life in the Dutch lowlands.
We will visit a factory where the traditional wooden clogs are still made, and learn how the famous Dutch cheese is produced with a visit to a local farm.
We will return to Amsterdam by train at the end of your tour.
In the return trip, if you wish, you can visit by yourself the lego house - before reaching Amsterdam.
