2 star Taksim Independent hotels in Istanbul, Turkey

Nice and clean hostel in the proximity of all the bars and restaurants of Beyoglu. The best hookahs of Istanbul are right down the street. All the major sites are in Sultanamat, but taking the tram or walking over the Galata bridge isn't a problem. The hostel has a cafe downstairs, which serves really good breakfast and snacks. Bathrooms are clean and room is spacious. The staff was very helpful in all matters, even when I locked myself out of my room once.

A great apartment base to explore Istanbul. Run down area but only 5 minute walk from trams etc at Taksim. Clean and spacious with a great view from balcony (roof top apartment). No bath or blackout curtains so recommend an eye mask! The cleaners only came in once during our 11 night stay. Also no kitchen cloths, sponges or tea towels. Overall, great value and would book again.

Good hotel it was in good location near to Metro station to go to any place it was nice vacation

The location of this hotel is superb. You got the istiklal street right across and doner kebab restuarant at your door step on the right and a fancier restaurant called Zubeyir Ocakbasi on the right, and a grocery store right next to it. However, the hotel is run by untrained amatuers. Be prepared to be waken up by the housekeepers EVERDAY at 1pm, even though you have informed reception about DO NO DISTURB, they will knock on your door, then they will call you on the phone, and if you don't answer the housekeeping manager will come and open your room using the master-key or whatever WHILE YOU'RE IN THE ROOM and yell at you for not answering!!

I stayed at this hotel apartment for 9 nights. I liked it overall. The people that were running the hotel were very nice and helpful. I was in the third floor of where their office is located. It was a little bit of trouble getting the luggage upstairs, but after that we weren't bothered with it since we are young. The wireless did not have good signals in the apartment we stayed at, but as soon as I mentioned it, the staff tried to change our rooms so we can have better signals. They showed me a room that had stronger wifi signals, but I did not want to move my luggage again, so we stayed at the same apartment. I would rate this place 4.5 because of the cons, but I didn't have the option so I went with 5. Pros: Great location (3 minute walk to metro and Taksim Square), Clean, helpful staff, wifi accessibility, good price, Turksat and Hotbird satellite tv, Safe. Cons: Small shower (I know most showers in Turkey are like that, but if a couple want to shower together there is literally no space), a little noisy (that's Istanbul alright). Very recommended overall. I would stay there again for sure.

It's a good Hotel, good location and everything is Ok

This hotel was ideal for our five nights in Istanbul. The location couldn't be better and allowed us to walk almost everywhere. The room was the size I expected for the money and was very clean. The bathroom was very nice indeed. The hotel employees were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I'd read that it was very noisy when I booked but hadn't realised just how noisy it would be. For the first two nights it was difficult to sleep due to the noise from a club a couple of doors down. However, on the third night, we realised that a window had been slightly open and once we'd closed it, the noise was much more bearable. I would still say that if you want a restful night this might not be the hotel for you. However, if you're attracted to the local nightlife and will be out until late at night or early the next day, you probably won't even notice. We were back at just before midnight most nights and did notice the noise. Having said that, I would definitely consider staying here again as it was such great value and in an absolutely perfect location.

A very good nice and simple hotel. This is not some fancy 5 star hotel, but if you want a clean, comfortable and very well situated hotel with friendly staff this is the place for you. . On arriving my check in was quick and efficient and the staff very friendly, I was shown to my room by another member of staff. Room clean and ensuite with comfortable bed, TV, aircon, phone etc. Powerful shower and towels, wash, soap etc provided. Also had a hairdryer which was a nice extra. Wifi was also free. Located a couple of minutes meander from Taksim square on a pleasant road which always felt safe. As a lone female traveler I felt happy walking around at night and since the hotel is just off of a busy street there were always people about. Breakfast was traditional Turkish cold buffet, tasty and plenty of choice: bread, meat, cheese, fruit, eggs, salad, honey, cake, pastry, juice, tea, coffee etc. The hotel was in good condition and my towels etc were refreshed every day. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would happily recommend and return again.
