Room Mate Emma

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Hotel is very clean and modern, staff are extremely helpful. You can hear the metro running underneath the hotel however this doesn't make too much disturbance. We would recommend getting a room not on the first floor as we had no window to outside -just light from overlooking the corridor. Definitely would recommend this hotel and the location is ideal.

Nice, very contemporary hotel

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Friendly staff, original and unusual contemporary deco. Walking distance to city centre, La Rambla, la Padrera and Sagrada Familia church. Close to caf├ęs and shops. Just a shame that windows come out to a internal space of the building- 7 storeys high lobby shaft- unusual and pleasant design but not opening windows, no fresh air or views. Amazingly soft bedding and best ever comfy and massive bed.

perfect for long weekend

Posted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: Great staff. exceptionally helpful
Cons: No facilities to make drinks other than mini bar. Would have liked complimentary water or tea making facilities
Location: Sagrada Familia Gaudi house Shopping La Rambla Park Guell
we stayed in an executive room. The decor is a bit tacky but very clean and modern. Super comfortable mattress. Decent sized TV. Great location. Walking distance from many sights, plus close to bars and restaurants. Highly recommended for a short stay

Great location and great staff

Posted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: The staff, location and decour
Cons: Few small things with the room such as a full length mirror along with a shelf and/or rack in the bathroom
Location: Las Ramblas is near and some lovely restaurants. Everything is easy enough to walk to but not so close that you're in the thick of it
Everyone at the hotel was really friendly and helpful (especially the lovely lady who did breakfast....she always greeted us with a smile). Breakfast was yummy- really good variety. Our room was always very clean and loved the decour. Only a few small things with the room that could be improved (full length mirror would be good and a shelf in the room with the bath for you to put soap on. Also towel rack near the bath would be very handy). We hope to come back soon and would definitely recommend this place to friends. Thank you so much for a lovely stay :)

What a gem!!!!

Posted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Location: Guadi, Guadi and more Guadi I love the guy!!!! Of course there are many other things to see. We had 3 full action packed days. Don't forget the shops
We may have paid a bargain price for this city break but we received 5* all the way. Hotel Room Mate Emma is within easy walking distance of all the sights (so long as you love walking) It is also near to the underground for those who like this comfort. You will be greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff who offer their help before being asked. Included in your stay is the WiFi the pass words given with your key card. The room we stayed in had no view and very little natural light, as it was in the central part of the hotel, this did not bother us as we were out most of the time and the ambience of the room was pleasant. I have to say the bed I slept in was more comfortable than mine at home a rare say indeed. The bathroom is compact with a shower wet room just perfect! That brings us to the breakfast buffet. AMAZING!! everything you could want. We expected a continental style buffet and got a more American style. It kept us going way past lunch time. I would not hesitate to recommend this very modern and stylish hotel.

Good location hotel

Posted Dec 29, 2013
Pros: comfortable beds and clean. Lights in halls are sensor activated, good for being efficient on power.
Cons: Halls are very dark, no natural lighting.
Location: Paul, great cafe for freshly made sandwiches & pastry. Very charming and seems to appeal to neighborhood residents.
Staff was friendly and helpful when questions were asked. They recommended a good restaurant for dining on a Sunday night when lots of restaurants were closed.

Great Location - Good Value

Posted Dec 10, 2013
Pros: Clean, confortable rooms. Good breakfast with lots of local options. Close to subways and three major streets.
Cons: Cannot think of too many things I would change
Location: Two blocks from Ramblas and three blocks from Pasieg de Gracia (high end shopping street). One subway stop from Plaza Catalunya and the heart of BCN.
Hotel is very close to two major subway lines and very short walking distance to diagonal, Ramblas and Paseig de Gracia, but without being in the heart of tourist trap areas. Great restaurants and bars nearby (almost at every corner), across from a grocery store. Breakfast buffet is a very good value with plenty of options. We have stayed here 3 years in a row on vacation for a week at a time and will definetely go back again. We love Barcelona and this hotel allows us to walk to all our favourite places. As with any big Euro city - just be cautious with your belongings and you will have a wonderful stay.

Nice hotel but noisy surroundings.

Posted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: Pleasant and helpful staff around the clock, clean room.
Cons: The breaksfast needs some improvement; variety is good, just a little more flavor needed.
Location: You can walk to attractions but the area is noisy and difficult to sleep sometimes.
Staff did not honor our paid breakfast thru expedia nor our confirmed king size bed. they did upgrade us later but it was a pain to keep moving from room to room. the room without a window was actually where you can sleep because the window room was impossible to sleep since their is a club close by. Staff tried to accommodate; they were pleasant and helpful. breakfast is ok but nice and clean area.
