"Loved our 1st visit to Belize - we will be back!"
We had a lovely experience at Belizean Shores. Our unit 4-1 was ground floor close to the pool. It was clean and comfortable, and just steps from the pool and the beach. Although technically we did not have an ocean view, we could indeed see the ocean. I was especially impressed by the generosity of the establishment...free kayaks, paddle board, $5 per day bike rentals, no prickly policies about how many beach towels you could use...we really felt like guests, and were not nickel-and-dimed to distraction every time we turned around. The staff was superb - genuine, low key, endlessly pleasant. Golf carts are available for rent - about $55 for 8 hours - some reviewers in the past complained about the bumpy road the cart had to use to get into San Pedro town - about 30 min ride - we in fact loved it since it was an authentic experience we would never forget - we hope they never pave it since it would increase motorized traffic. on this route is a great BBQ place.. the smoked bbq chicken is great.. ribs are spicy - little pricey but worth it. Loved the kitchen - since we like to fix breakfast and to cook dinners sometimes. Try to get condos in bldgs 1, 2, 11, 12 to be closer to the sea/beach and away from the pool noise. Construction nose behind 11 and 12 are not a major issue,

"Very nice resort"
The Resort was great. The only point I want to note for others is that the "all inclusive" package did not include transportation from the airport to the resort. It was an omission that could have consumed a whole day.

"Like staying in a botanical garden"
San Ignacio is a busy, buzzing village, with lots of [wonderful] people and noise. The Windy Hill Resort is about a mile outside of town and it is peaceful, beautiful and affordable. You have your own private cabin, an infinity pool, an indoor/outdoor resturant and tiki bar and they will book any tour for you at the front desk. Or if you want to go it alone they will give you any and all info you need for safe and easy travels. The staff is very friendly and courteous and made us feel so welcome and at home. The only thing I could possibly complain about is the shower, witch the water is heated in the shower head, and I could only seem to get hot or cold water out of it, never just warm. But this was a minor inconvenience for such a wonderful place. I would highly recommend staying at the Windy Hill Resort, and tell Ricky, the bar tender, we said hello :-)

"Almond Beach Resort and Spa/Jaguar Reef Lounge"
Very nice--we wanted a peaceful vacation and we got it. The Resort is on the beach allowing the wind to keep the beach comfortable. Less than 30 yards away from the waves. The restaurant was excellent. The tours were set up at the front desk, but you could get tours elsewhere, if you wanted. Hopkins--the city--was accessible by bike (provided) or golf cart (rental) but you wouldn't want to walk (about a mile, dust and heat). You could walk along the beach, though--very quaint and pleasant. They offered snorkeling and fishing off the barrier reef from boats that launched right at the resort beach. A good place for a family. Kayaks on beach, snorkeling gear provided. No fish or reef on shore, though. You need to go on a boat.

"Great location if you want to be in heart of town."
We had never been to Belize and had no idea where to stay, we looked over all the hotels and after reading other people's reviews we went ahead and booked this place. The reviews where spot on. Staff was great location was central and made it easy to get on boats to go out for day trips. If you like to have choices where to eat then stay here as you can walk out and be in the heart of San Pedro where there are numerous restaurants. If you're looking to "power down" with peace and quiet, this is not the place, don't get me wrong you can relax here, just a lot of people and activity surrounding the area that makes is feel a bit busy. Head north of Ambergris or stay on Caye Caulker. Over all we loved the place and the staff helped us out with all our needs, even upgraded the room for us. The onsite restaurant is good too.

"7 nights in paradise! It REALLY IS that pretty!!!"
Hands down THE BEST beach on the entire island! We biked and did tons of exploring and this was by far the best beach & swimming we found. From the minute we arrived we were totally taken care of. We were welcomed with refreshing drinks to & a super fast check in with big smiles at the front desk. Within 2 days we got to know everyone from the awesome bar tenders (Hello Elder, Alex & Tony) to the people at the dive/tour shop (Waz up Jill, Mario & Abel). Oliver was the man in charge and ALWAYS checked in to make sure everything was perfect, his wife was also a joy to meet! Everyone there was so happy and friendly ~even the grounds keepers were always smiling & saying hi as there were busy working away everyday to keep this resort in pristine condition! The rooms were super clean and even though we booked a pool view we could still see the breath taking ocean from our porch (I honestly don't think there is a bad view from any place there). The beds were sooooooooo comfortable, house keeping came twice a day to make sure everything was spotless. We had a kitchen if you feel like cooking). It is a very small resort so there is only 1 restaurant to eat at but the food was always fantastic when we ate there... portions were big enough to split (burgers were insane!) . I have say we did buy booze at the duty free shop but the bar tenders we soooooo awesome & fun we didn't even drink it all it was much more fun to staying down there & chatting with them, they also make great food!

This hotel is a luxerious tropical paradise at the end of Hopkins. The rooms are large and clean, the beds are super comfy and the balcony is wonderful. The food at the Rum Bar is a bit overpriced, but good and convenient. Overall, a wonderful stay.
