"Great place to stay!!"
Quite and relaxing location. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. Located right on the river and still close to the international airport (10-15 minutes); they even offer free pick up / drop off. Free canoes / kayaks, and baboon sanctuary is nearby. You might even see a troop of wild baboons (howler monkeys) on the river. We've stayed here the last couple of years and love it. Would like to thank Harold, Beverly, and Omar for a great stay.

"Great hotel let down by restaurant"
5 out of 5 for the hotel. 1 out of 5 for the restaurant, and the '1' is for the lovely food but they lost 4 marks for the worst service I have had in years. terrible. I will go back to the hotel and continue to eat across the road in the Radisson.

"Caribbean beauty, tranquility, superb food&service"
If you want tranquil excellence, Secreto is your spot. The food was better here than anywhere in San Pedro, and so was the service - by far. I would recommend booking whatever you do through the front desk at Secreto. They are wired in correctly to the local excursions (snorkeling, etc.) and they will get it right for you. My wife loved the french toast for breakfast. I loved the ceviche, and pretty much the entire menu, and the dinner specials were awesome. They have a real chef who cooks to order & does it right & fresh & cares. You will not find better cooking and a staff that is more interested in making sure everything is right for you in Belize. We hit a couple of the better restaurants in San Pedro and they did not hold up to either the food or the staff at Secreto. My wife came back from the trip singing "You betta Belize in Love". That should give you a pretty good idea of how we liked the place. And the drinks at the bar? Forgedddaboudit! Order a Caipirinha or a Rum Runner from Monica (wins bar tending contests) or Freddis and you will thank me later. Monica floats the Rum Runners with Craboo liquor (only available locally) and she is just nice and as sweet as pie. Want anything (the dinner special, a Belikin) delivered to your villa at 9? No worries, just call the front desk. Snorkeling - I would recommend Mexico Rocks over Hol Chan. Mexico Rocks is not near a channel (no current), is very close to El Secreto, and has great marine life. Thanks Lewis! Great Captain.

"Very quiet. Awesome scenery. "
The road to the Inn is very bad. If driving in yourself, you need to have the appropriate vehicle. Make sure the rental company allows your vehicle to go off of paved roads. The staff was super friendly and efficient. The main building at the resort is a house that was converted and the rooms are free standing duplexes a short walk from the main building. When we arrived, we were greeted outside and given a short orientation on the resort and surrounding property. The rooms are nice. There is a phone and fireplace, but no TV or air conditioner. A ceiling fan makes sleep comfortable. The staff kept our room spotless. They also have a fireplace in each room with a stockpile of wood/kindling. This was a nice amenity as it got slightly chilly at night. There is a pool, screen porch, small lounge with reading material, bar, and dining area. 7200 acres of land to explore on foot or by vehicle. Butterfly Falls is amazing and worth the hike. You can swim in the pool at the bottom, but the water is spring fed so it’s a bit cold. You need to be in moderately good shape to go on the hikes. There are walking sticks at the entrances to most trails. I would recommend taking them as they help with all of the rocks/steps you need to navigate. The Cascade Trail is also highly recommended. It follows the river and has numerous primitive bridges across the water. Dining was very good. The chef knows what he is doing. Continental breakfast is othing special: yogurt, cereal, juice, a few piece

"Excellent hotel on the beach, Friendly staff"
This is a definite keeper on our list of places to vacation. The rooms and resort are beautiful, and the staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. The excursion options are all excellent, we did the zip line, waterfall ropelling, the fishing, snorkelling, cave tubing, and Cayo Mayan ruin trip. We highly recommend the fishing! So much fun and Pancho (our guide) was excellent. The restaurant food is good but a little pricey. Venture into town for wonderful food at better pricing. We ate at Loggerheads, Driftwood pizza, and Geckos. all were EXCELLENT. Take lots of bug spray - off is expensive to buy locally and you'll use a ton of it.
