"Great place to stay!!"
Quite and relaxing location. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. Located right on the river and still close to the international airport (10-15 minutes); they even offer free pick up / drop off. Free canoes / kayaks, and baboon sanctuary is nearby. You might even see a troop of wild baboons (howler monkeys) on the river. We've stayed here the last couple of years and love it. Would like to thank Harold, Beverly, and Omar for a great stay.

"Great hotel let down by restaurant"
5 out of 5 for the hotel. 1 out of 5 for the restaurant, and the '1' is for the lovely food but they lost 4 marks for the worst service I have had in years. terrible. I will go back to the hotel and continue to eat across the road in the Radisson.

"A slice of paradise "
While it took quite some time and effort to get to this resort after landing in the airport it was a pleasant surprise once we got there. We were greeted with cold fruit punch and warm smiles after our long journey. No sooner had we walked in to reception had our luggage been discreetly taken to our rooms. We arrived after the sun had gone down so sat down to a very nice dinner and woke up to a brilliant view. The resort is just beautiful. Birds and iguanas frequent the property and are a nice greeting every day. Everything was very clean and everyone was very pleasant. We went in off season so basically had the resort to ourselves. We still got to steal time on the beach in the sun but mostly had cloud cover. It was very convenient having the rental bikes on property as it was much easier getting around than cars or the golf carts. The road is very beaten but nothing we hadn’t seen before having been in the Caribbean before. The food was amazing every day at every meal and was extremely convenient having breakfast included. It was a perfect start to each day to gain our strength for whichever excursion we were taking. The drinks were also superb and very reasonably priced even more so at happy hour. The staff made everything so easy for us. All we had to do was say what excursion we wanted to do and if by magic there was a driver waiting for us each morning right on time. We didn’t have to pay for entry fees or travel costs (gas etc.) everything was included on our bil

"Very nice hotel on the beach."
My family very much enjoyed our stay at and recommend Almond Beach Resort, Hopkins, Belize. Almond Beach is part of the Viva Belize group which in Hopkins includes Jaguar Reef Lodge & Spa, Almond Beach, and Villa Margarita. We were there four nights: June 20-24, 2015. I used to go to the upper-mid level resorts in Mexico (20+ years ago) and the locals to upper level resorts in Costa Rica up to 10 years ago (but not CR's Ritz-Carlton). What I remember about those places is poor construction quality. Even recently build places had crumbling (looking?) cement and poor attention-to-detail finishes. Not AB, JRL, nor WM. Everything I saw in WM was well made with quality materials, good workmanship, and attention to detail. I would not have made all the same materials choices, but I was shocked by the place given what I have come to expect. We booked via Almond Beach via Expedia but ended up in Villa Margarita room 101. ABR and JRL are adjacent properties which merged. VM, separated from ABR by a large beach house, is now part of the resort too. They all share a restaurant, check-in, and general hotel services. Our “ground” floor room had direct, unobstructed frontal views of the ocean (none of this peak or view of the ocean, this was ocean front) with sliding glass doors opening onto a covered patio with high-quality patio furniture. The 15-20ft of patio ends and a really nice pool begins. On the patio side of the pool, steps go to about three feet of water for....

"Overall a good experience."
Lovely place to stay, lots of walks to go on, abundance of scenery is a photographers dream! Staff were very nice and friendly, giving a big shout out to all the crew on the zip line, they work very hard and long hours...tip generously!! Food was delicious although the portions were a little bit small, if your staying there or anywhere else have some snacks on hand as there is nothing around to buy! More helpful for families with kids, just a heads up! We enjoyed our 2 day vist and would come again. Got no sleep on the 2 nd night due to the noise of the generator . DO the zip line! it is a blast !!

"Very quiet. Awesome scenery. "
The road to the Inn is very bad. If driving in yourself, you need to have the appropriate vehicle. Make sure the rental company allows your vehicle to go off of paved roads. The staff was super friendly and efficient. The main building at the resort is a house that was converted and the rooms are free standing duplexes a short walk from the main building. When we arrived, we were greeted outside and given a short orientation on the resort and surrounding property. The rooms are nice. There is a phone and fireplace, but no TV or air conditioner. A ceiling fan makes sleep comfortable. The staff kept our room spotless. They also have a fireplace in each room with a stockpile of wood/kindling. This was a nice amenity as it got slightly chilly at night. There is a pool, screen porch, small lounge with reading material, bar, and dining area. 7200 acres of land to explore on foot or by vehicle. Butterfly Falls is amazing and worth the hike. You can swim in the pool at the bottom, but the water is spring fed so it’s a bit cold. You need to be in moderately good shape to go on the hikes. There are walking sticks at the entrances to most trails. I would recommend taking them as they help with all of the rocks/steps you need to navigate. The Cascade Trail is also highly recommended. It follows the river and has numerous primitive bridges across the water. Dining was very good. The chef knows what he is doing. Continental breakfast is othing special: yogurt, cereal, juice, a few piece

"Friendly hotel in the heart of Belmopan"
Hotel owner nick and staff went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for 10 days in May 2014 and most mornings ate breakfast. Breakfast was delicious, especially the pancakes and the famous cheesecake made by nicks wife Shannon. I thought the service offered was brilliant. Located right in the heart of the community. Would defo stay here again. For the price we paid I was really impressed. Had air conditioning in our room, which is essential as it was so hot. On our first night the air conditioning was leaking in the room- but still worked, informed nick in the morning and he moved us straight away to another and even bigger room. Nick I hope you open a hotel in belize city! as we would would love to stay at one of your hotels again. Thank you to so much to you and your staff for all your time and kindness during our stay and sorry it's taken ages to leave a review.
