Great hotel, really helpful staff and excellent facilities. Sauna was heaven to sort out awful travel induced cold. Great location, walked out into Tiergarten or caught buses. A really fun 5 days in a brilliant city.

The mercure hotel more than met my expectations.
From the polite and hospitable staff who were more than helpful, the room was spacious, clean and was of a high standard. The breakfast seem to cater for everyone, ranging from cereals to cold meats.
The hotel is right around the corner from checkpoint Charlie and the subway station stadtmitte.
It is also not far away from the Gendarmenmarkt, German Cathedral, Potsdamer Platz ,Brandenburg Gate and museum island.
The Wifi was a little weak in the hotel room, but overall a wonderful and pleasant experience from a hotel which I would recommend to anybody.

We stayed at this hotel for a week on a recent trip to Berlin. It was central - right in the Mitte district overlooking the Gendarmenmarkt. We had a lovely room with a magnificent room overlooking Gendarmenmarkt. There were a number of restaurants and cafes on our doorstep so after a long day of sightseeing we didn't have to go far to find a decent meal. There also lovely shops too. The public transport (U Bahn) is also right there so it was easy to get around to all the sights in Berlin. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Just spent 4 nights at the Adagio. We had a studio apartment with kitchen - it had everything we needed and more; dishwasher, combination microwave, oven and grill, fridge/freezer and two hotplates. we were given a few dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, dishcloth and tea towel. Living room had a pull out table and two chairs and the bed (very comfortable) folded into the wall to accommodate a sofa. TV and CD player/radio also provided. Bathroom included a 2 person shower. Handsoap, showergel and shampoo provided. The only downside was the very worn linen and tiny pillows. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Even though we arrived early, the staff were most accommodating and found as a room without hesitation. The rooms were clean and of standard 'Novotel' size. The hotel is located in a good area close to public transport and the famous Berlin Market (Saturdays and Sundays) is right on the doorstep. The quality of staff and services (including breakfast) was excellent and by far the most professional that we have encountered from Novotel (we have stayed at a number of Novotels throughout Europe). It was a pleasure to stay here!

I've just completed a week here and you'd have to be very picky to find fault.
The staff were very friendly and I was greeted in excellent English although I tried to speak German as much as possible. I was given a large room with generous facilities on the top floor, just next to the second lift (which opens onto the inner courtyard) but heard no noise throughout my entire stay. I could only find four small niggles: the mattress is embedded in a frame so that when you sit on the edge of the bed, your legs rest uncomfortably on the wood; I question the value of two single duvets on a double bed - I ended up sleeping with one across me and the other on a shelf; the television was woefully small and barely visible when lying down; and, there were only 5 hangers in the wardrobe (with two others on an open rail). My two "must-haves" were fine: the mattress itself was firm but OK, leading to a decent night's sleep, and the powerful shower was plenty warm. The maid service was excellent and everywhere was spotless.
I was mildly disappointed in that the free Wifi is limited to 256kbits/s. That's OK for emails but browsing rich-media sites was painful. You may want to pay for the upgrade.
I ate in the Bistro a couple of times and it was decent but the selection is limited (soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza). Breakfast in the room was a bonus (at €16/day) and I enjoyed the eggs and bacon particularly, while remaining sceptical about the wisdom of salami and other sausages.

As other reviews state, the rooms were small but clean & had all that we needed. The staff were brilliantly helpful (Christoph especially). We would definitely stay there again. Balzac coffee shop is just round the corner if you don't want the hotel breakfast.
