Avoid, especially at the price they are charging

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Bathrooms were tiny you had to stand next to the toilet to close the door !! and the toilets were noticeably short !!! 80's decor and finish Bad location , out of the way and inconvenient to any Duluth Activities Pool and hot tube were under construction while we were they and they did not offer a discount

Under construction

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Because we reserved on line they were un able to get in touch with us about the pool and hot tub being out of service. Passes were available for another water park but had to drive across town. Quiet time is not until after 11:00 p.m., too late for this old guy.

Hotel location is not the best

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: Our room appeared very clean
Cons: Everything
Location: The location was kind of creepy. Made us feel like we were on skid row.
Hotel staff in the morning was very unfriendly. I expected to pay 78.00 and got charged 88.00. Did not realize it until I got home. No refrigerator in the room. No elevator. Room was small.

The hotel was undergoing major construction

Posted Jun 5, 2014
We were not informed of anticipated major reconstruction but were slightly compensated for lack of facilities, e.g., no pool, etc.

Inexpensive hotel minutes from many activities.

Posted May 28, 2014
My wife and I had spent the afternoon installing a door for a relative in near 90 degree Duluth heat. This temp was way outside the norm for this northern Minnesota city. I had booked the hotel weeks in advance with the thought of a relaxing dip I the pool and diverting the stress in the hot tub. However upon arriving at the hotel I found that the pool area was under construction and wasn't able to use these facilities. Adam at the front desk was sincere in trying to meet our needs and called Doug to see what he could do. Unfortunately we were too exhausted to travel any further and took the room with a discount from Doug. Our room was nice, the hallways were a little dark, but the ship photos on the wall was a nice remembrance of this destination. And the happiness of Tina at breakfast in the morning resolved our content to visit this hotel again in the near future.

Location excellent. Nothing else was...

Posted May 27, 2014
Location was excellent with easy access to everything! Was immediately disappointed upon arrival, the pool construction was supposed to be done on the 22nd we arrived on the 24th, and the pool was still not running! They said they could not call me because I booked through Expedia so they did not have a phone number! They did offer to cancel the reservation for free, or to receive a nightly discount! With only one other hotel that was open with such short notice we just decided to stay there and receive the discount. The room was for the most part clean, there was a hair on the toilet, what look like water damage by the door with black mold under the wallpaper, the nozzle for the sink in the dining area was coming off of the actual sink. one of the sheets had a yellow stain on them, there was so much construction during the afternoon that you can hear it in your bedroom! They had a towel propping open the door so anyone could enter the hotel from the back! It was just generally not a good stay under construction the hotel should not have been open for the amount of work that they had to do! If it wasn't for the construction and the pool was open the stay would have been a lot better!

Potential, but disappointing

Posted May 20, 2014
Pool and hot tub were closed for renovation, but were not told in advance. Room was fairly expensive for just a place to sleep. Very disappointing, when that was the reason for the hotel. Unfortunately since reservations were made online, could not get money back.

Location was great for where we wanted to visit.

Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: Location and convenience.
Location: Shopping, visiting family, and relaxing.
Nice and quiet. Desk clerks were a little crabby and unfriendly at check out. Didn't have much to say and did not encourage us to revisit.
