perfect

Great place to stay. Trolly bus stops outside or there is a pleasant walk in to town beside the river. Not sure why people have rated this hotel so low. Hotel was spotless & we had everything we needed. Thank you Travelodge for making our stay in Durango so pleasant.

Very nice overnight stay, basic clean place.

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Friendly employees, quiet, breakfast included, clean comfortable room. Good safe area.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Restaurants were close, and there was a City Market with a Starbucks a couple of blocks away. Near 160 - major highway, but far enough away for quiet.
My kids and I had to do a quick overnight stay in Durango on the way to Denver. The person who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was quite and clean, in a safe area. To our surprise, there was a nice balcony on the back. It was a good, basic place with a nice breakfast included, and not noisy. If you're looking for a posh resort atmosphere, this is not it, but it's good for basic needs.

Value over glitz

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Value, value, value...and it was close to a Starbucks
Cons: Look...its older and outdated, but it is clean and functional.
My wife and I were going to Durango for a week and this hotel/motel was just fine. It is older, it doesn't have a lot of new anything (the TV was an older "picture tube" type), but for the cost we couldn't beat it. The bed was comfortable, the AC was efficient and QUIET!!! We were just looking for a place to sleep every night so we didn't need much. It was clean and served its purpose.

Travelodge, Durango, CO

Pros: It is located right by the river, which mad for very pleasant evening walks.
Cons: Travelodge could put the coffee pot somewhere in the room where there is actually and outlet so their customers could use it.
Location: I stayed at the Travelodge because I was in Durango for a wedding. The location is convenient for dining and getting around Durango.
The overall appearance of the hotel is run down. My room was dingy and dark. I booked the room for two consecutive nights and each morning I had to have the desk person reset our room keycards because they would no longer work. Also, checkout time is 11:00 a.m., however, the free Wi-Fi no longer worked at 5:00 a.m. on the day I was to check out of the hotel.

Good place to stay and move on to sight-seeing.

Good place to stay and move on to sight-seeing. Nice breakfast too. I would recommend this place as it is located in a good spot of the town as well.

Durango!

Posted May 17, 2014
Pros: The rate, the location, the staff, and breakfast
Cons: Water heater isn't independent.
Location: Watch the train, walk the river. Hike the Colorado Trail Head. And just chill for a good price.
Most affordable way to explore Durango. Pretty good location; very close to river and view of historic train.

Nice clean hotel

Posted May 7, 2014
Pros: It's close to downtown and the free trolley stops just right in front of the hotel. You could take it down and up Main Ave and save on parking.
Cons: Washcloths are a scarcity, you have to ask for them.
Location: Zia is within walking distance, the Animas Museum is across from Zia.
There are many hotels close by, and you could probably stay anywhere in this vicinity, but this hotel is clean. The narrow gauge train to Silverton passes behind the hotel and you could wait to see it pass. The river trail goes all the way to downtown.

very nice

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: clean, breakfast, good wifi, very nice staff
Cons: one of the bed mattresses felt a bit old and not very comfie, luckily i had 2 queen beds in my room so i just moved to the other one :)
Location: it's on main street, so it's close to everything (altho i did not explore Durango really)
i was really pleased with my stay there. wifi was working good, nice cont. breakfast, including waffles! room was clean and staff was very nice. just the good basic stuff. i stayed there for 2 nights, then continued to NM for 3 more nights, and on my way back i stayed there for another night.
