“Great family hotel”

Great hotel and a fabulous staff! The staff will go out of their way to help with any need you have. The hotel is very clean inside and out. The food is pretty good. The beds are pretty hard if you're not used to that. I booked my roundtrip transportation from the airport with Vacaciones Barcelo. They were horrible. They were not at the airport when I arrived so I had to take a taxi. On the day I left, they were 45 minutes late picking me up and I almost missed my flight.

“"A GREAT HOTEL FOR A FAMILY AND FOR EVERYONE"”

THE BEST SUMMER VACACION AT RIU GUANACASTE HOTEL RESORT! I have spent at Riu Guanacast Resort 7 wonderful days and nights. August 16 to August 23, 2012) It offered good typical, american, and other diverse delicious food. I ate snacks at anytime. Drinks all day.(alcoholic drinks, fresh juices: papaya, mango, pineapple, banana, bottles of water, etc, etc) If you like to drink, the Sport Bar is open 24 hours (drinks and snaks for adults and children) I had my early coffee everyday at 6:00 a.m. at Sport Bar. Swiming pools are great: clean water and safe. Beach. It was the best beach I had been. Clean, worm water and safe waves. I swam everyday for many hours. I did not want get out of the beach. It was awesome. The hotle resort employees (all of them) were very nice people. I highly recomend Riu Cuanacast All Inclusive.

“Clean, clean, clean.”

Meticulously kept up. The staff seems to be cleaning this hotel around the clock. Someone always mopping the tile walkways, trimming the hedges or dusting the lobby ceilings. Grounds are beautiful, food is wonderful, and the staff are super friendly and super helpful. Although hotel is a bit isolated, a full variety of tours are available and are a short drive away.

“Great Hotel, Great Vacation”

Costa Rica is a beautiful country. The location of the Riu was beautiful. The staff was very friendly especially for the pool bartenders (Rocky, Roany & Delvir). The grounds and rooms were very clean. We had an oceanview room and it was gorgeous. The mornings you can hear the birds and monkeys. The buffet has a variety of good food. We made reservations for the steakhouse (our favorite) & the gourmet. (fyi - men are required to wear long pants at the gourmet restaurant -Tucan) The beach was very beautiful and relaxing. Its a black sand beach and water was crystal clear and no rough waves. We are beach junkies but the pool was nice, big, clean. The professional photographers are very good at capturing those great moments. The prints are a little pricey but great pictures. The nightly shows were amazing. Each night was better than the last. We did the Canopy tour (Ziplining) and the Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs tour. The Canopy tour was close by and it was thrilling. A must do. The Arenal Volcano & Hot Springs was an all day tour. It was a 3 hour drive there and back but it was beautiful. You get to see many animals and the scenery is exceptional. This has been an exceptional vacation. I highly recommend the Riu Guanacaste. Can't wait to go back!!!

“Perfect”

The RIU was an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff and people running the excursions were more than happy to help with any question or request you have, and they are genuinely nice people. The country itself was absolutely beautiful, and the resort showed the best of that. The grounds were gorgeously landscaped, the beach was private, expansive, and beautiful, and the pool was huge and well designed. There is so much to do in Costa Rica we are already planning a return trip, and we would absolutely stay at the RIU again. Can't say enough positive things about this trip, it was by far my favorite tropical vacation destination to date. I really can not imagine anyone not enjoying this resort or destination. I read some negative reviews before leaving for my trip, but I now chalk them up to the fact that some people just can't be pleased, even in paradise!

“Can't go wrong staying here!”

Nothing negative to say - it was a great vacation and no complaints about the hotel or staff. Quick check in and check out, room was clean, never had to wait for anything! Food and drinks were plentiful, never a problem getting a spot by the pool or beach. Give the waiter a couple of bucks and he will keep bringing you refills! Only thing to be aware of, which we were not, is that during off-season (May - November) the resort offers specials to the locals to fill up the rooms. The weekend we arrived it was overflowing with locals who were a bit loud and disruptive, seamed like alot of family reunions were going on. Once they left on Sunday the resort was alot more peaceful. The airport food is very expensive so I would recommend bringing something to eat and drink when departing. They will let you through customs with food and drinks, you just can't bring any drinks on the plane. We packed some food & drinks from the hotel to bring with us which worked out great! We were told that Guanacaste has the best weather in all of Costa Rica so keep that in mind when booking your trip.

“Great vacay. Want to go back and experience MORE!”

Friendly staff. Clean. Lots of food options. Construction was not as disruptive as others have said (they are building a new hotel next door); we were right next to it and it did not bother us. Staff was willing to change our room the next day if the noise was too disruptive. Friends of mine took photos with the photo staff who are around the pool/hotel/beach. The photos came out GREAT!

“Love it!!”

We’ve stayed at Riu Guanacaste at the beginning of January. The best time of the year. Loved it!! Staff was wonderful! Our room at first was facing the construction site and we called the front desk to complain about the noise that started at 7am. They give us a choice of rooms with different views the same day, with a big SMILE. We moved painlessly the same morning with the staff help to even bigger and nicer room. Food was great, so was the service and everything else. We took a lot of fun trips that we booked right in the hotel and loved them all!! I would recommend this resort to all.
