We were in an attic with no view at all, just an attic window! We just wanted to get out and about so didn't want to mess around changing rooms but it would be an issue for some..we wouldn't have chosen it of they had told us at reception that out didn't have a proper window.

Very well maintained pension with very kind and helpful staff. The room I stayed in was spacious and very clean with traditional furniture and wooden floor and the bed was very comfortable. It is my understanding that many rooms are carpeted and some with modern furniture so you should specify your preference. Small bathroom as an added modern structure to the room but clean and fit for purpose. Rooms are on a courtyard or on the street but there is some noise either side especially in the morning.
Free tea in the reception area.

This hotel was way better than I expected. I stayed 4 nights at Korotan and was impressed with how nice the facilities are for the price. The common areas are well-kept and tastefully decorated. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Breakfast was substantial. I hesitated with my booking initially, due to the location. It turns out to be a great neighborhood, with plenty of small restaurants and cafes within an easy walk. The walk to the Ring Road is about 20-25 minutes, which for me was a pleasant way to start the day. A tram passes very close to the hotel and would make the trip into city center even easier. Or, the hotel is very close to 2 bike share stands. This is a terrific way of getting around the city. There are many protected bike lanes, and the bike share bikes (called "Citybikes") are free if you keep it less than an hour. You can get anywhere you want in Vienna in well under that time. All in all, a terrific stay.

Vienna’s smallest postal district, named after Emperor Joseph I, is a popular residential area with a mix of students and affluent middle classes who colonize restored Biedermeier townhouses and luxury apartments. Its attractions include a complex of Baroque church buildings around the Piaristenkirche, the Josefstadt light-entertainment theatre and a folk art museum.
