VP Jardín de Tres Cantos

"Great Hotel for all"
This will be the 3rd time we have stayed at VP Jardines de Tres Cantos.Great value !! Javier(who seems to be on duty each time), could not do enough for you, and always remembers who you are. The facilties and cleanliness of the hotel is second to none. On arrival we did not have to check in 1st before accessing the secure underground parking, from the car park there is a lift which takes you straight to reception. Good TV in the room with a number of English channels including Eurosport(which pleased my husband as he could watch the snooker and football!) We have recomended this hotel to friends who are either just doing a stopover in Madrid or staying for a wkend.

Hotel Tach Madrid Airport

Calle Timón 35, Madrid - Map
"Super convenient for early morning flights"
This is a perfectly located hotel for flying out of Barajas. It is close to the Metro and the shuttle can get you to the airport in 8 minutes. The staff was very friendly--gave us a comp internet login, gave terrific recommendations for downtown Madrid sights, and were honest about the very poor money exchange rate available at the hotel (and it was terrible indeed). The shuttle was on time at 4:05 am and they appeared to have planned well for the number of people who needed a ride, which is something I read was a problem at other airport hotels. You can also easily get downtown from the Barajas station; although it's 3 different trains, the system is very easy to navigate and is like the Paris Metro in that each train number and direction is its own platform, so you don't have to make a decision about which direction train you need. We came into Madrid on the AVE train and so started at the Atocha train station. Be careful about which train you take. We bought a Metro ticket but there is no direct line yet from Atocha to the Barajas train station so we could not use it. If you buy a Renfe ticket to the airport, you can either get an inexpensive taxi (about 15 Euro) to the Tach or you can call for the hotel shuttle to pick you up. One minor thing we found odd: there is no clock in the room, so we ordered a wake up call as well as set our phone. Overall a super value for a clean room close to the airport.
