Kepi has thought of everything you might need from beach towels and chairs to a hard sided cooler with freezer packs. The lush garden view from the lanai is even more beautiful than the pictures can show. "This property was like returning to my childhood memories. I was raised on Oahu. I remembered the sights (neighbors, furnishings, streets), sounds (dogs, chickens, people upstairs), scents (plants & flowers) of growing up in the islands. Great friendly hosts. Good kitchen for cooking at home. Definitely would stay again. It helped that I lived in Hilo for 6 years so I knew my way around. It was like staying with family. "

"The location was just what I thought it would be. It was easy to get into Hilo town or head to Volcano National Park. The host is very responsive to any needs we had since she is right there on site. The interior was clean and very comfortable. The lanai is perfectly private."

"We were delighted with Honoka'a and enjoyed an evening at a ranch west of Waimea, day trips to Kona, Hilo, a tropical garden, Hilo Farmer's market, and Captain Cook monument (for two of us hikers). The accommodations were great for 6 adults. Also enjoyed the oranges off the tree in the backyard."

"The house was a roomy older house, conveniently located 5 minutes from downtown Hilo. Overall, the house was terrific. The only drawback was the shower stall and showerhead. The shower flow was insufficient. A hand-held shower head would be better!"

"It was a lovely place to stay, the host was great, answered all my questions and the place was very clean. A very safe residential neighborhood, the highway is a little bit away, but the ocean is closer and every day you can go out on your balcony/porch and watch the whales and the dolphins."

"This newly renovated apartment was a spacious retreat for our family of 4. It was very well equipped for cooking meals and everything we needed and asked for was provided. Tony and Samira were fantastic hosts! They even let the kids feed the goats and chickens, which provided great entertainment running about! The location was great for exploring all of the southeast - from south coast sites, Hilo, beaches & coves with sea turtles, waterfalls and botanical gardens, and Hawaii Volcanoes National...

"although the property was under renovation it didn't interfere with our activities and the landlord responded quickly when we had a minor plumbing problem."

"Everything was very modern and clean. It would be nice if there was a kitchen sink or basin in which to wash our dishes. A simple coffee machine would work better than a Keurig machine as there was only one pod per day and we enjoy a few cups of coffee throughout the day. A few extra utensils would also be handy as we like to cook our meals."

"Beautiful private spot. Easy to get to, but away from most traffic. It is apparent the hosts enjoy people and making them comfortable. Lovely paintings done by the hostess. Most of the grounds are gorgeous gardens with beautiful evening lights. This is the cleanest place we stayed on the entire island. Pride is taken in every way. Highly recommend"

"We only stayed for 3 nights, but Karla's place was in the perfect location for exploring the East Coast of the Big Island and Volcanoes National Park. Karla met us when we arrived and introduced us to her cottage. Her pride of ownership shows both in talking with her and also in all the little things about the cottage that made staying here very convenient and comfortable. She has a notebook that she prepared with menus and descriptions of all the local restaurants, locations of grocery stores,...

"The place is cute, clean and comfortable. Very nice for a short stay. The outdoor spaces are very inviting. Lots of road noise, screaming neighbors, dogs barking at all hours and the frogs go all night you will love them or hate them, owner fortunately provided ear plugs."
