Decent room poor service

Posted Apr 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel is in a great location, only about a 10 minute drive from the historic district. Room was decent size but refrigerator didn't work and cable kept cutting in and out. Following the first night, we left the tag on the door requesting maid service and when we came back, our room keys did not work and the tag had been turned around to "do not disturb" and our room had not been serviced. When we informed the desk clerk about the keys, she said "yeah that happens." When we informed her about how the tag got turned around, she simply said "yeah I don't suggest you do that... Sometimes people turn the tags around for fun" and did not offer to send maid service to the room. Overall, a decent room but don't expect much form the hotel.

Good price, but near nothing

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Location: you will need a vehicle or a taxi as this is on a "country" highway road. It's a heck of a long walk to anything besides a Wqaffle House.
I ended up being put in this hotel by Expedia after the reservation I made for a historic downtown hotel was lost/over booked. This hotel is very basic but did have some nice features in the room itself (tile floor in bathroom, outlets on the lamps for easy access). In my case I had to take a taxi to the convention center which only took about 10 minutes. It's not really near anything so you're gonna need a vehicle if you even want to get a few snacks from a corner store. The only place nearby to eat was a Waffle House that was a good 3/4 miles down the road (I don't believe there were sidewalks that entire way either. If you just want a place in this area that has a comfortable bed, a door that locks, and is inexpensive then this would be a good choice.

Awful. Simply Awful.

Cons: Do not stay at this hotel.
Not only did both rooms stink like cigarette and dampness, the rooms themselves were very unclean and on-top of that I got scabies from the bed sheets. Utterly disgusting, unhygienic, and unacceptable.

Well there were only 2 lights in the room they were on the wall between the beds. Room too dim. Couldn't close curtains cause they didn't match. No wash clothes or hand towels only two bath towels. Room stunk like cigarette smoke. No TV remote plus words on TV screen read welcome to best western. Pillows were horrible. Heater knobs came off in my hand. They did fix that right away. Door was very hard too close had to slam it. Ice is $0.25.

Awful stay away

Room was awful. Clean but very shabby. Room had a strong odor. We would have left immediately but no other rooms available at area hotels. We slept in our clothes on top of the bed and left at dawn.

Clean hotel, friendly staff.

Pros: Our favorite things were cleanliness, accommodating staff and reasonable price.
Cons: The bathroom directly faced the bed. Also, a flat-screened TV would require a small stand instead of the large cabinet which took up so much room.
Location: It's a short drive to Histroric District, carriage rides, trolley tours, riverfront shops, restaurants, daily cruise ship, free ferry to island, etc.
My husband and I would definitely stay here again. Although the room seemed a little small for a king size bed, it was very clean. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows were fluffy. There was a small refrigerator and microwave, however no coffee pot. The bathroom was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The parking was convenient to our room.

Nastiest place to stay

Posted Mar 13, 2012
Pros: Leaving
Cons: Lobby sign that read "NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON"
Location: Not as close to historic downtown as the expedia ad leads anyone to believe
Sheets were grey and threadbare, no blankets. Towels were nasty looking. Smelled like an army just smoked hundreds of cigarettes in the room. All lights, warm fridge, microwave and tv were on 1 light switch?!?! Steps rotted on stairs to second floor. Generally a rundown, down at the heels mess of a place that shouldn't charge more than $20 a night

Very old motel, which I discoverd has changed names and ownership over the years. Motel must be atleast 30 years old. Rooms need to be updated. A real dump, in awful location. No iron in room, no coffeemaker. Outdated television. Never wait til the last minute to make reservations in a city, this is what you will end up with, the only place available, next time I'l pass rather than stay at a place like this. AWFUL, JUST AWFUL!!!!!
