Georgia Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

Georgia on your mind? The Peach State's diverse blend of big city sophistication, small town hominess, northern mountains, coastal marshlands, historic landmarks, and nature preserves draws more than 48 million visitors every year, making it one of the nation's top states for tourism. Hotels in Georgia are designed to accommodate a range of different tastes and budgets.

Scarlett O'Hara wouldn't recognize Atlanta these days. The sprawling city has evolved into an economic heavy hitter that's easily the equivalent of any northern metropolis. Book a behind-the-scenes tour of CNN's studio and record your own "newscast" for friends back home. Visit the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, and sit in the pulpit at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Dr. King delivered some of his most eloquent speeches.

Take a guided tour through the Margaret Mitchell House and see the desk where the author penned "Gone With the Wind." Pay a call at the World of Coca Cola and learn how the world's favorite soft drink is made. Because of the number of visitors it entertains every year, Atlanta is a good place to find Georgia hotel deals.

The coastal city of Savannah moves at a considerably slower pace. View the graceful mansions of the nation's largest National Historic Landmark District on a stroll through its famous River District. Book a ghost tour through Bonaventure Cemetery, or explore Old Fort Jackson, a brick edifice surrounded by an unusual tidal moat that was the center of the Confederacy's river defenses during the Civil War.

For people who like to hike and camp, Georgia hosts a large segment of the famous Appalachian National Scenic Trail. At the other end of the state, Cumberland Island, off the Atlantic coast, is the biggest of Georgia's Golden Isles and is accessible only by boat. Cumberland Island sports beaches, dunes, marshes, freshwater lakes, and historic ruins to explore.

Closer to the Florida border sits the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, a 400,000-acre preserve of cypress forests and tidal marsh. Learn about the alligators and other animals that live there on a guided boat tour, or canoe alone on one of the many marked water trails.

While it's fairly easy to connect with a cheap Georgia hotel deal, using Expedia to reserve Georgia hotel packages will save you time and give you far more options. Go online to find the best Georgia hotels with special discount prices. Pick the rates, rooms, and amenities you want and make your reservations. When you use Expedia, you can be sure you're getting cheap hotel deals in Georgia that are also comfortable.

Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center

"Nice Location, Close To All Downtown Attractions"
The hotel has a nice location all within a walking distance of all Downtown Atlanta attractions, there are two towers (north and south) we stayed at the south tower which in a king room facing the CNN studio. The south tower is busy and noisy with lots going on during the day because of the CNN studios, the rooms are comfortable, ample and clean but do need a remodel since the decor is outdated, lamps were chipped and wallpaper was lifting from the wall in some areas. It was disappointing that all street facing rooms (so we were told) are doubles and kind rooms face the unattractive and busy/noisy view of the CNN production studio. The hotel bar is very busy but a nice place to meet up and grab a drink, if you are looking for some place to sit back quietly with a glass of wine this wouldn't be your go to location but there are plenty of choices nearby. The restaurant is a bit overpriced with better options nearby for the same cost. Overall the experience the staff provided was great as is the location but the hotel needs a remodel and better distribution of their rooms to give customers different options to view selection since not everyone will be interested in a studio view option.

    "Nice Comfortable Hotel "
I Stayed at this hotel last week, it was very comfortable, clean and everyone was courteous. The only knocks I had was they ask you to be eco friendly and put a sign on the door if you agree and they will give you $5.00 per night, I stayed 4 nights and only received 1 $5.00 certificate. I also had some hair on my cloth napkin during a meal. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

    Hyatt Regency Savannah

    2 W Bay St, Savannah - Map
The facility is nice but not great. I lived in Savannah when it was new. It hasn't changed much, even though there are a lot of newer hotels in the area. We arrived about 8 PM. There was no one at the front door. They only have valet parking but we had to wait on the parking attendant. I know he had several cars to deal with so he didn't seem that interested in our car. He parked another car while we got our luggage out and carried it into the lobby. I guess I expected more from a Hyatt.

    "Great price. Great location"
Was surprised at how modern and clean the hotel was for the price. Parking could not be more convenient as the garage is steps away from the hotel door and reasonably priced at $12.00 per day. Wonderful place for breakfast or lunch right down the street (Coffee Roaster) we can't wait to visit again next time.

Great overnight stay! Clean facilities and friendly staff. Location of hotel allows easy access to many of Augusta's historic attractions. The hotel is minutes from Augusta National golf course, minutes from the River walk and minutes from many historic buildings laden with the rich beginning of being one of the original 13 colonies that formed the United States of America.
