Great hotel close to River St.

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: Very comfortable and clean. Great staff
Location: The Staybridge is on E Bay Street directly across from the steps leading to River Street, E Bay Street is also the main route to Tybee Island.
We arrived early and the room was not ready, we were offered coffee or a cold drink while we waited while we relaxed in the foyer, the staff are very accomedating. This was our second stay at the Staybridge but will not be our last.

Great hotel in heart of historic district

Posted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness
Location: Lots to do. Walk across to river front to eat or go a few blocks back for Broughton, and lots of shopping
First thing I noticed was the southern charm. I was greeted with a goodmorning, good evening, etc from every single staff member. Even the young ones. That was very welcoming. The Hotel is built in the shell of an old original building on Bay street, which added to the historic ambience. Just like every other hotel in this area, the rooms are small, but that is to be expected in historic Savannah. Location with great, we walked everywhere. Night time was brightly lit and safe, so was parking. Just a heads up, parking is $12 a day but you will be happy you paid it. You really don't need a car if you are sticking to the historic area which is plenty of shopping, restaurants, bars, lots of history to look at and check out. There was a breakfast served in the morning, with a nice variety of the usual. It was also a manager social in the evening, with wings, salad etc. I was extremely comfortable at this hotel. When the stovetop didn't work, (there is a tiny- and I mean tiny- kitchenette) I called down and the hotel engineer was there in about 3 min. He found the issue (it was turned off at the panel) and I was cooking 5 min after I called. I found salmon steaks at the Kroger a few blocks behind my hotel (again walking distance and with a beautiful southern canopy road to enjoy on the way). I can't wait to return.

Pros: Liked the kitchen in the room even though we weren't there long enough to use it. we made coffee and used the fridge.
Cons: new mattresses, biggest concern
Location: great, right across street from river and all the shops.
Nice place except dated. The mattress was old and the springs would make popping noises. Also if you sat on end of bed the other side of bed would flip right up, so that made it difficult to sit on end of bed to put socks on and stuff. Also the bathroom door would hit the toilet. Had to have toilet seat up so you could close the door. Plugged in cell phone chargers into outlets and they moved a lot and when I unplugged charger the outlet came out with it. For the most part liked the place just needs a little work, and I would stay again. The location was great to the surrounding area. We did like that it was in the old city and the property was old and fit it, but a few maintenance issues and it would be great.

Excellent location

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: location, staff, room, breakfast
Cons: parking
Location: plenty of restaurants nearby, the river walk, the trolley rides, the squares, small shop shopping. The historic buildings and the history of Savannah
We have stayed at this hotel before. However, we had friends staying there as well and it was important to me that they felt their stay was a good one. Staybridge did not disappoint, we found their staff helpful and very friendly. The rooms were clean and easily accessible. If I had to critique something, it would be having to pay for parking. The last time we stayed there, their small parking lot was free but spaces were limited. This time, that lot was also part of their "pay for" parking facility. All in all, we will stay there again.

Absolutely acceptable.

Posted Jun 14, 2015
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Parking is not the easiest, but acceptable.
Location: Within walking distance of every part of Savannah that you will want to see.
For a last minute reservation for a weekend in Savannah, this hotel was terrific. Obviously there are more luxurious hotels in which to stay, but this one suited us just fine. It was a nice place to stay. Will definitely stay again.

Location & staff was great. Everything else...bad

Posted Jun 8, 2015
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Clean the rooms !!!!!!
Location: Savannah river area is wonderful
The rooms are very small. We found hair in the bathtub (from previous occupants) and a silverfish in the bed. The carpet was old and stained and if you sat on the end of the bed, the mattress would flip up on you. The free breakfasts were OK... nothing special. For the price of this hotel, I expected much better than what we saw.
