“Comfortable, budget friendly, vintage motel”

It was surprisingly well run, clean and comfortable stay in a place that supposed to be a motel. In fact it is closer to a mixture of boutique hotel and a roadside motel. I called it 'boutique' as it is more style conscious establishment than any other motels. the vintage touch (feels like time trip back to the fifties/sixties) really makes a difference. Motel is located close to SCAD (Savannah College of Arts) and within walkable distance to a city centre. Staff was very friendly and helpful with tips and directions. Coffee and doughnuts are served for a tasty (albeit not too healthy :))) ) breakfast. We felt that this place had more character than many of the bland hotels that litter Savannah's waterfront.

“Blast from the past.”

Comfortable, clean and very friendly. When you check in you find a moonpie and RC cola waiting for you in your room. Krispie Kreme donuts for breakfast and the best coffee I have ever tasted. Reminded me of motels my family stayed in when I was growing up.

“Will definitely return on my next Savannah trip”

With prices similar to hotels in remote suburbs, but located right next to the historic district, Thunderbird Inn is a great deal for tourists of modest means. Decor is charming, staff helpful.

“Great Pet Hotel”

Great hotel for pets. Very pet friendly. Has a fenced in area for you to take your pets. Offers free potty bags (if needed), treats and a cute heart shaped tag for your pet. Our two dogs loved the hotel and walking in Savannah. The hotel also lets you know pet friendly places to eat. :)

“Savannah Fun”

Thunderbird Inn is a great, clean, friendly and reasonably priced motel. The staff was always friendly and kind. The doughnuts and coffee in the morning were great. It is a funky, classic art-deco type motel but has all the basics I needed to enjoy my stay in Savannah. They play oldies type music all day on outside speakers that I found quite fun. I had no complaints. I am and was very conscious of my surroundings as I walked to and from the historic district of Savannah and was a little cautious of the bus station across the street; but all was fine. If I return to Savannah, I will stay again at the Thunderbird Inn.

“Love the Thunderbird”

This hotel is very close to the River Walk and City Market. We stayed there for 4 days and were very happy with the service provided by the Hotel Staff. The room was very nice with comfy beds, extra pillows and updated decor. There are coffee pots and a fridge in the rooms as well. This will be my hotel of choice anytime I go to Savannah! Thanks Mark for your great service!

“Best kept secret in Savannah”

The hotel was great- a great deal for the money and a great location. It is just off downtown, but an easy walk anywhere you want to go. If you are looking for a uppity staff who wear uniforms and have a gorgeous lobby, this is not the place for you. If you know a good value, and want to be able to use the hotel for it's main purpose- sleeping and convenience- this is the place. The front staff ws great in helping us when Expedia messed up our stay. Expedia had not sent them our reservation and they only had 1 night for us. They extended their apologies and offered us one room they had for the night, then gave us a call sheet with the other downtown hotels listed. They offered to talk to expedia and help us in any way. The rooms were great- VERY comfy bed, totally renovated inside. The bathrooms are a little small, but great sheets, and bed linens. It is authentic to its roots on the outside, but completely modern on the inside. Great hotel- would stay ther again easily!

“Great Place To Stay”

I enjoyed my stay there I wish it was a little less expensive but still it's the most economical of the hotels in the historical district of Savannah, Ga. The room is directly across from Turner Annex so it makes visiting or moving your son or daughter in there!
