An excellent hotel in almost every way. The location is fantastic. Very close to Chinatown and the Quays. Both of which offer a lot of different food choices from high-end food to wonderful Singapore street food. Clarke Quay is a great place to go in the evening and have a drink and listen to music. The Clarke Quay MRT station is just outside the hotel, which makes access to the rest of Singapore simple. The hotel itself is very comfortable. The staff is professional and competent. My room was very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of the Singapore skyline. The pool is small, but relaxing and a great place to swim a few laps, enjoy a snack, or just chill out. I didnt really try the buffett - it looked great, but with so many interesting food choices close by I never made it there. I only have a couple of minor complaints. It would be nice to have PPV movies in the room to relax in the evening and I would prefer more of a bar/lounge to wind down at the end of the day.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 1 week stay at this hotel prior to a cruise. It is located 244 M from the MRT which takes you to most parts of this beautiful modern city. I can't say enough for the entire staff. They were friendly, efficient and helpful, especially the front desk staff, concierge (always helpful with information), and room maid. Upon returning from our cruise we returned to this hotel (Carleton City Hotel) for one night prior to flying home. We took the first MRT (subway/train) at 6:00 AM to Changi Airport and travel time was approx. 35-40 minutes at a cost of $2.30 each, a fraction of what a taxi would cost, and probably as fast or faster.
I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are going on a cruise. It is close to the cruise terminal.

I was late for my checkin and April (I think that's her name, I asked her colleague when she wasn't around) was really helpful and patient with me as I had to extend my stay for 1 more day an had no clue how to go about doing it. It was also at that point when I realize I have left my phone in my friend's car, which sent me Into a state of panic. The reception was building up with more and more people, but April did not brush me aside or rush me along. Instead, she offered to help in any way possible. She is also the only person in a really long time who complimented my contact lenses, which is a stark grey. After hearing "isn't Halloween over?", it's nice to hear something positive for a change. Would be great if someone informed the hotel of this compliment to April. Thank you so much!
