Nice hotel close to Capital Reef National Park

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: convenience to Capital Reed
Location: Capital Reef is very close. I would stop at the Fruita Valley section of the park which is close to the Visitor's Center and get one of the pies
The hotel is very convenient to Capital Reef NP and offers a clean room and a nice self-serve breakfast. There is a great dinner restaurant just down the road that offers a great view and a good dinner called the Rock Cliff.

Affordable Inn, close 2 Capitol Reef national park

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Cons: Staff was non-existant during breakfast.
Affordable Inn was... affordable, and all that it implies. Two good beds, and the room was....room ok. Had to ask for a second washcloth and handtowel. Fridge & microwave provided. Limited other room amenities. Free breakfast was very limited, but provided. I think this place has seen better days and is struggling, but for the price, and the location (the far end of town, closer to the Park) and the view, I'd stay there again. It was clean.

Looks good....nobody home.

Location: within sight of Capitol Reef Nat'l Park
I booked a four night stay. The room was comfortable but there was no staff or service. When I checked in late afternoon, I finally drummed up someone to give me a key. After that time, I saw a maid twice and someone at the desk twice. I never did see anyone in the breakfast nook. In fact, I only ate breakfast once because the food always needed replenished and we couldn't find anyone to do it. I was also concerned that the milk and eggs were set out without any means to keep them cool. I slept well but will never there again since there are many choices in town. The other hotels must have all the staff.

If you just need a bed, take your chances.

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: Proximity to the park.
Cons: New linens, mattresses, and clean carpet would help.
Location: Capitol Reef National Park was minutes away.
The room had a strong odor that could not be disguised by the two air fresheners they shoved into the air vent or the one hanging on the vanity light fixture. We just needed beds for the night because we would be spending the day at the park. If I were spending more time in the room, I would have chosen a different hotel and paid more. The sheets and other bedding were very worn. The mattresses need to be replaced. This place could use a thorough cleaning inside and outside. It was a last minute choice not the first choice. The staff was courteous and the location is conveniently close to the park entrance. Our kids liked the yogurt and cereal they served for breakfast.

Disappointed

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: View
Cons: Service, cleanliness, landscaping, interiors
Location: Near Capital Reef
Pictures online of the view looked great. The view is the only thing great here. Old, rundown motel not worth your stay. Go elsewhere.

No frills but nice

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: The price is right. It is clean and staff is polite
Cons: New TVs are in order, but I believe that is in the works. Also, the soap/shampoo/coffee that comes in the rooms is pretty lame, but that is minor.
Location: Torrey is delightful. This hotel is not within walking distance of "downtown" Torrey, but it is close and it is on the way to Capitol Reef.
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times. It is pretty basic, but is also fairly inexpensive. The managers are great and have been accommodating. They allow dogs, which is a big plus for us.

Ok place to stay

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Close to Capital Reef
Cons: Better breakfast, needs updating especially the lobby, swimming pool
Location: Close to Capital Reef National Park
There isn't much choices to stay around Capital Reef, so this seemed like the best choice. They had my reservation wrong, but luckily someone changed rooms which allowed us to get the proper rooms. Very thin walls, you can also hear people above you walking. Didn't get much sleep. Breakfast was mediocre. Need more staff.

Extremely Pleased

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: Very quiet. Light traffic on the distant road and other guests were not intrusive
Location: Torrey is a small town with a number of restaurants, but not a variety of other services. Only minutes away from Capitol Reef NP
Given the price point of the Affordable Inn, I am pleased to say that there was no aspect of my stay that I found lacking. The room and furnishings were in excellent condition, with only minor signs of wear. Everything was in perfect working order. TV, DirectTV, WiFi, lighting, etc. The heater, under window unit typical of this kind of hotel, worked perfectly. The only sound was the fan blowing. Sometimes these units can be noisy. Breakfast is what you would expect at this level. I needed it every night because it did get below freezing while I was there.
