"It is quite astonishing that this establishment has received such a high volume of favorable evaluations. The state of cleanliness was unsatisfactory, and the room was permeated with a musty odor, which was subsequently determined to be the result of a ceiling leak that had saturated a pillow that had been placed in the wardrobe. Although breakfast was included in the room rate, the caliber of the food left much to be desired. While some members of the staff were cordial, others did not exactly make us feel particularly welcome during our stay. We have no intention of staying at this establishment again in the future."

"This was a beautiful place to relax after spending the previous week in Rio. You might not have any cellular service at the last highway turn so it would be a good idea to set this destination on a couple of navigation apps. The last few km of road is quite rough. Cellular service reconnects as you get down the road and close to the beach. Drive slowly for the last bit. The staff was very welcoming/accommodating of our requests. They are very responsive via WhatsApp. The property has great WiFi coverage. Vivo LTE coverage via a USA T-Mobile sim card worked fine at the beach and in the rooms. The locale is a sleepy fishing/tourist village. Choices for food are pretty much this pousada and a neighboring restaurant. There are a couple of kiosks and a minimarket within walking distance that are open slightly later, but everything closes early here. The kiosks don't look like much but they still take international cards. If you want dinner after 6 pm on a weeknight you may need to drive to Paraty. The location is QUIET (except during nearby fire and brimstone church services) and extremely peaceful. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained and the rooms have air conditioning. Paraty is a 30 minute drive each way. You'll need WhatsApp setup on your phone to communicate with Paraty's parking officials. We prepaid our stay though Expedia. For meals in their restaurant they kept a total and we paid in full with a credit card at checkout."

"The hotel is at the centre of the town. Perhaps an option for an overnight stay. Medium breakfast but ok given the price. Air conditioning in my room was rather basic, did not help much, felt the heat. Staff did not speak English but given that Ubatuba is generally a holiday destination for ‘Paulistas’, Sao Paolo residents, that is understandable so get prepared, at least with basic Portuguese. However, even with my some Portuguese receptionists were not that much helpful, could not help to understand the taxi system in the town, saying it was complicated and expensive although eventually I simply figured everything out through a well known application, it works there. Asked about tourism spots and again no information except for an advise to see the beaches. Asked about bus stations and regrettably, they did not know which one is where. Be aware there are several bus stations (“rodoviarias”) in the town; triple check from which your bus departs if you are traveling by bus. All in all, the hotel is not well prepared, at least in my view, for overseas tourists. Again this is a place primarily for ‘Paulistas’, Sao Paolo residents. If one have right expectations the hotel might be then fine. It is not that bad after all and I wish the hotel and the team well. "

"Gorgeous hidden gem of a hotel very close by the beach with great pricing! The rooms were spacious, have a great swimming and gaming area, and the breakfast was excellent. I only have two minor issues with my reservation. First, I did not get the room I paid for. I paid extra to get a bigger room with an extra bed and partial view of the beach, both which my room didn't have. Also, there was heavy raining all weekend long and there were some leaks in my room which caused the entrance/door to be full of a big water puddle for my entire stay. Other than that, everything else was great. The employees there were friendly, nice, and gave great customer service. Thank you!"
