Very comfortable stay
Its not the newest hotel certainly--and could use some updating but very good stay and the service was excellent. The restaurant is awesome! The food is so good--and service is great. We will continue to use this hotel as often as we can get away.

Not terribly impressed
Booked to celebrate our anniversary, this hotel was a great disappointment. The room was quite worn, tired, wet and smelled of fish. The carpet was soaking wet, and a fish smell permeated everything. When we contacted reception regarding the carpet and the smell, we were told that it was probably caused by the last tenants when they ran the dishwasher (there was no explanation for the smell). We were then informed that the hotel would not rectify the situation and would not consider moving us to a comparable room while the carpet dried. We spent the remainder of our time tip toeing around our rather expensive room in order to avoid stepping on the soaking wet carpet and with the balcony doors wide open to try and rid ourselves of the stench. Needless to say we will not be recommending this hotel to others nor booking a room there again.

OK if you know what you are getting into
When I arrived to escape a heat wave in the Seattle area I was surprised (shocked) to find that this hotel is not air-conditioned. This fact was not mentioned on the website. I could have asked, but these days all large hotel-chain properties have AC. The rooms on the ocean side have a lovely view and get a nice breeze from the ocean and are quite expensive. I had an economy room on the town side. I was given a fan. The first night it was a little muggy, but after that it was cool enough to be comfortable without AC. The town-side rooms have one window, and it faces the covered, open-air corridor. So keeping the window open meant hearing the noise from people passing in the corridor and worrying about how easy it would be for someone to break in. For privacy it was necessary to keep the curtains closed, restrictring air movement from the outside. Keeping the window closed felt more secure and was quieter, but made the air in the room uncomfortably stuffy. On the plus side, the hotel is right on the beach in a great location. The bed linens and towels were of good quality. The room and bathroom perfectly OK.
