Worth the money

An economical, clean, polite facility. HVAC work needed in hall ways, but rooms are very comfortable.

arrived at 9:00 pm...no coffee family of four...only three sets of towels only three pillows to each queen sized bed no tv at 7:00 am called front desk...no one answered departed at 7:30 am ...no coffee again

Looks are deceiving

On the website, it looks like this hotel has a great location and nice comfortable rooms. Nope. The short walk to nearby shopping centers and restaurants is blocked by Interstate 10. Even the overpass is unpassable due to heavy traffic and construction. A short bus ride is possible, but is scheduled only once an hour. The room was fine, except for one important problem. A constant dampness permeated everything. Yeah, it’s New Orleans, but this was worse than I have ever experienced -- and I lived in N.O. for 4 years previously. Papers, napkins, tissues, clothing ... anything that could absorb moisture would. Black patches of mold grew on the walls and ceilings. Though I was on the 3rd floor, I felt like I was staying in a root cellar. A/C didn’t remove the problem. The sliding glass door was permanently locked shut. I ended up using the heater just to get the chill out of the air.

Spend the extra bucks and stay on the north side of I-10 if you need to stay in this area. You’d be a 10 min walk from Veterans Blvd and there is a ton of stuff to do there.

Clean and Convenient, Bargin Prices

If you need inexpensive accommodations, this place is great. The rooms are clean and comfortable, good cable selection of channels. They had a convenient free kiosk that allows you to check in your flight and print your boarding pass. There is a pool, restaurant and ample parking. The good news it is located in an easy to find location, right off Interstate 10. You are 15 minutes from the French Quarter, so it’s good place to stay and travel in to New Orleans. It’s 10 minutes from the airport. The only issue I had was trouble with the room key not working and it took them 3 -4 hours to fix it. They acted like I didn’t know how to use a room key and kept giving me a new key that didn’t work. After the 3rd one, I just told them to fix it and I would be back in a few hours. It would have been easier to move me to a new room, but they didn’t.

If you like oysters and seafood, Drago’s, Deanies seafood and Acme Oyster House are all minutes away and recommended. There are 3 Starbucks nearby on Veterans Blvd, and Cafe de Mundo is nearby (New Orleans style coffee and beignets - French fried dough with powdered sugar)

Nice place to stay

Had a great time. This was my second time to stay there in the past three years. Great rate through Expedia.com.

Days Inn, Metarie, LA

The hotel was tidy, clean and service was good. The room air conditioner was noisy and didn’t seem to work that well.

Very Clean

The hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasant. The only complaint I could have was the air conditioner in my room was not very cold. It was cool. We got back to late to our room when we realized that it was not working properly. I notified the front desk at check ou the next morning and they were getting someone to check into it right away.

Does a trip ever go smoothly?

I did a lot of looking around on line before booking at this hotel, we had never been to New Orleans. I was a little nervous but was pleasantly surprised when we got there. It was very nice having the I-Hop restaurant right there in the hotel and also the pool although the surrounding area around the pool could have been cleaner. Also the check in time could have been earlier than 4pm. We got there at 3pm and was well ready to check in and were turned away.

Very Impressed

From the view from the highway, to the front desk,to the room I was totally pleased with this hotel. The staff was great the room was very clean .I was a little skeptical about the price didn’t know what to wxpect but I tell you my family and I were very pleased I reccommend this hotel to anyone I had 2 small children and they really were happy.

Great for a night before flying home

We checked in around 10 pm and left at 4 am. The food at IHOP was good. The guy at check-in got us a reservation for 4 am. Everything was just fine with the hotel. Would I stay here if I was vacationing? No, only because it wasn’t that close to anything but for a hotel close to the airport it was perfectly fine

and I can’t wait! It was really nice the service was great and out room was amazing and clean. There was a workout room which I didn’t know until I left. Out rooms patio door led right out into the pool which was nice. It was only minutes from downtown and had many things really close to it. I do recommened to anyone traveling to New Orleans and Metarie get a GPS it helped us greatly!

Stale room

The hotel was dusty and stale. The light switch in our bathroom had to be rigged for it to stay on. And when brushing my teeth I discovered a disgusting ring of dirt and grime around the inside rim of the sink. Yuck!

Nice & Clean

This hotel is an older hotel, but it was clean and comfortable. The IHop is connected and is open 24 hours so it is very convenient. Wouls stay there again.

if you get a rental car the tax is not included that was an extra 70 dollars don’t know if it was worth getting a car

Great Stay

The hotel was very nice. The rooms were clean and the service was excellent. The microwave and refrigator in the room was a very nice addition. The IHop connected to the hotel was very slow and the food was bad. I wouldn’t recommend eating at the IHOP.

The ride into the french quarter by Taxi is $23 to $29 for 4 people. Becareful returning to the hotel from Bourbon Street, the taxi drivers will try to charge you $40 to $60 dollars.

Great price for the New Orleans area!

I was impressed with the size of the room since it had a dresser, small fridge, desk, couch, and king size bed. With all of that furniture, the room didn’t feel crowded at all. I really appreciated it since I was in town for the bar exam for the week and needed to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. The room was clean and comfortable, but the air conditioning unit was very loud and I had to either turn it off or put in ear plugs. Other than that, the room was great for the price. I would definitely stay there again on business (I’d probably choose something closer to the city for a personal trip).

An alright stay

I have had bad stays at Days Inn before. This by far was the most pleasant Days Inn I have stayed in.

It was okay!

It was okay! It wasn’t great, it wasn’t horrible. I didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel. My only complaint was that my flight arrived at 10am and I knew that was probably too early to check in, so I did some things that needed done and got to the hotel around 1pm and tried to check in. They were rather rude and short with me telling me check in wasn’t until 4pm. I had been up since 4am and was really just wanting to get my things in my room so I could finish up my day. The hotel was not booked solid by any means. I ended up not being able to check in until after 8pm because of my shcedule for the day. I have a hard time seeing why they couldn’t have accommodated me. After that I really had no other interaction with the hotel staff. Check out was easy.

Not an area you’d probably want your "family" staying in.
