"Chose this pub as an overnight stay enroute to Scotland. We booked a table online for dinner as well. The room was excellent. Evening meal was superb as was the breakfast the following morning. "On line book in. Which worked. A breakfast hamper continental style which worked well. Room had everything needed for a two day stay. Its a downhill slope walk of 14 minutes from Railway station and a bit longer going back. Local buses close. Plenty of local cafes and fish and chip shops handy. Location very good for walking the town walls. The absence of staff seen did not distract from what was a pleasent stay.I would use the hotel again if visiting the area."
