Rockybrook Miller's cabin

This early 1800's miller's cabin has been lovingly restored and is ready for your relaxing getaway. Only 7 miles from Main Street Abingdon, this cozy retreat is perfectly located for family fun. Situated a few yards from the North Fork of the Holston River, you have easy access to fishing and Adventure Mendota, a local tubing outfitter. We are minutes from Bristol TN/VA and Bristol Motor Speedway. Hiking, biking, fishing and hunting are enjoyed by area residents. Local favorites include the Barter Theatre, the Martha Washington Inn, Heartwood, The Creeper Trail (including the Appalachian Trail), and a wonderful variety of local food fare. The Highlands Festival, Bristol Rhythm & Roots and many other cultural events make our area an excellent vacation destination.

The interior of our property is the original miller's cabin built in the 1820's. In the early 1900's, the cabin was expanded and a clapboard exterior added. Master bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor. ***Please note, that the two upstairs bedroom have extremely steep steps. This adds to the uniqueness of our cabin, but could be an issue for visitors with mobility issues.

A full kitchen will lend itself to meal preparation and entertainment. Microwave, coffee maker and all cookware are provided.

I booked this for a girls getaway for my wife and one of her friends. They loved the history & the cozy feel of this centuries old home. My experience with the host was exceptional! My friend and I wanted to surprise our wives and have a little gift waiting for them when they arrived at the cabin and Regina went out of her way to make that happen for us. My wife & I book thru VRBO often and I've never experienced a host as generous and willing to go above and beyond what is expected. If we travel back to Abingdon we will definitely be staying at the Rockbrook Miller's cabin.

Rustic Heaven
I will be coming back with my family! It is obvious a lot of kive and attention is given to the home. The owner even left a cake, which delicious :) The creek in the back yard, surrounded by mountains, in a home over 100 years old(and some parts over 200 years old), with plenty of comfy seating inside and outside was the perfect get away. Also, the church about 100 yards down the road uses bells at 11am on Sunday. I haven't heard that sound since I was a little girl. Can't wait to bring my back

You couldn't ask for more heart and soul put into this cabin. Regina is amazing. Freshly baked cake awaiting as well as fresh flowers! Details abound in thoughtful amenities and considerations! The rooms were well appointed and endearing. She delighted us with a visit and shared her house history and family. We even got to visit her goats. We will be back soon! Cozy Cabin! Don’t Miss this Experience!
This was one of the best and most interesting homes we have stayed in. The cabin is amazing and backs up to a beautiful creek. The rooms upstairs are adorable and were fun to explore how to access upon our arrival. Regina’s gardens are beautiful and the front porch is a perfect place to sip coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night. The chocolate cake was the most amazing cake I have ever tasted, thank you! And our host Regina was incredible. We loved listening to her stories, so helpful with all of our questions about the area. We spent our spring break here with our 3 children, 8,12,15 and they all loved the experience. We ate at great restaurants in town, did a ghost tour, explored sinking springs cemetery and braved the Virginia Creeper all 34 miles! We will be back! Thank you Regina for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. We are so grateful!

Perfect Spot to enjoy area hikes.
This cabin was perfect for a long weekend get away. We enjoyed the charm and history of the property and my children felt it was fun. It was close to restaurants in Abingdon and we were able to get in a series of hikes in the area. My five year old is already asking to go back.

Christmas 2023
Regina went above and beyond to make sure our Christmas trip was magical for my two kids! The home was beautifully decorated. She was in constant communication with us. She helped by picking up groceries for us so we had food for Christmas Day. She baked a wonderful cake that was so good! The home was cozy and filled with so much history. The creek behind the home was also a treat. We spent a lot of time out there exploring. This was by far one of the best places I have stayed at. Easy drive and location. She really made our holiday special! 10/10!

Great getaway in a rustic cabin
Even though it was rustic, it still had almost all modern amenities (save a washer/dryer). Great back porch and yard. Beautifully decorated.... something new to look at every turn. Would say if you're older or not nimble, the tall bed in the master can be tough getting into (though there is a small step stool) and the bathtub/shower is pretty deep. But all in all a great rustic retreat. The host is very nice and very responsive to any needs or questions. Highly recommended!!

A little piece of heaven …
We were celebrating our anniversary and this cabin was perfect. We loved everything about it and the beautiful property it sat on. We spent a lot of time on the deck. It was very private and picturesque. The cabin itself was like walking back in time only with modern amenities. We could tell that Regina loved it as well by the loving way it was decorated and all of her personal touches to make us comfortable! We loved all the details and it was fun checking them all out. Abingdon is only about 7 minutes away and we were lucky enough to hit the festival week. There are many great restaurants to eat at and things to do like the Virginia Creeper Trail. We hope to visit again. It would all be especially gorgeous in the Fall for leaf peepers!

A lovely loved cabin
This home is so delightful and so obviously cared for. The furnishings create comfort, the plantings create beauty, the hosts offer a such a warm welcome. It is true that the road nearby makes some noise, but that is offset by the glorious creek and beautiful locale.

Very pleased overall.
We really enjoyed the property as a whole, and Regina was about as good a hostess as any I've had in y numerous visits to VRBO properties. As for getting to the property, the description of the property and the amenities of the property; all was as described or even a little better-the personal touches and character of it are actually a little understated as you have to 'be there' to truly get the feel of the space. The only reason it doesn't get '5's' across the board is due to it's proximity to a busy highway, which makes it loud most of the day, and that it has no closets for hanging clothes-or at least none on the main level we could find. We'd go back and bring the kids at this time of year as the bugs weren't bad and the temps were just about ideal!

Amazing little cabin
Regina was an amazing hostess, and the amount of work that went into restoring this cabin to be a cozy little spot is truly remarkable. We went for an anniversary getaway, but there was room to bring all our kids (next time)! It was too cold for us to use the spacious porches and the outside spots, but inside we were warm and toasty (and there’s plenty of hot water to enjoy the tub). We cooked most of our meals during our stay and had everything we needed in the well-stocked kitchen. We really had fun in Abingdon, visiting Salt of the Earth Spa, eating at The Girl and the Raven for lunch one day, and browsing the various antique shops.

Rustic Excellence
This property is a wonderful mix of rustic charm and good amenities. Original logs are showing in the living room, original wood plank floors in most spaces, stone fireplaces with gas insert for ease of use, very comfortable beds and TVs with streaming service in multiple spaces. Yes, the kitchen and bathroom are dated but they are clean and functional. It started as an 1800's era cabin with add-ons over time so this is expected and part of the charm. Host was very responsive and communication was easy. Highly recommend and will stay again.

This cabin is a true cabin but with modern amenities like WiFi and a good size TV. It’s very cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay in Abingdon and this place made it perfect for my husband and me. We went to the casinos and winery. It was a bit cold to walk the trails but will do that on our next trip. The owner was very responsive and personable. We will stay here again!

Beautiful 1890s home
My boyfriend found this house for our little getaway, and we were both so happy with our stay. The house itself is interesting and charming, and it made for a super romantic trip. But what really set this house apart, aside from the atmosphere, were the hosts. From the moment we booked our trip, they made us feel welcome and were available for any questions. They also offered suggestions for local holiday parties. When we arrived, there was an entire (and DELICIOUS) chocolate cake waiting for us, along with a lovely personalized card. There’s also a really cute guest book we made sure to fill out before we left. They truly went above and beyond. Additionally, the kitchen was surprisingly well stocked. We’re sure anyone would be delighted with their stay at this house.

If only all hosts were as wonderful as Regina! We very much enjoyed staying in her historical house close to town, trails and good restaurants.
