Perfect stay near UT Austin!

We came out with our high school kids to visit the UT Austin campus. This apartment was perfect for us. The place was easy walking distance to campus, and a really fun food truck spot is just two block away. We we able to walk just a couple blocks to a mini-market thst was open late to pick up a few supplies. The place was large and clean, and check in was super easy. We loved the apartment and the area, and with any luck, our kids could be future Longhorns!

Nice location and apartment

The apartment was very nice and clean. The location was perfect. I didn't feel unsafe at any time. I even walked to a corner store at 11PM because the location was in such a nice location. Overall, I would stay here again. My only con for this location is the kitchen is not really stocked well with cooking pots. There was only one medium skillet and one medium sauce pan. There needs to be a more cooking pots for a home that houses up to 8 people.

Great Stay (minus check in)

It took an hour to get into our apartment because they gave us the wrong apartment number. Not the wrong code, but the wrong apartment! Besides that the place was great and in a great location. I just thought that was ridiculous, however, we had a great time once we got inside.

Okay, But Could Be Better

I'll start with what was good: check-in and information was thorough, area was nice, view is pretty good, the place was mostly clean and came stocked with water, soap, and shampoo/conditioner. The price was inexpensive. What was lacking: Both bathrooms had a pretty bad smell mostly due to mildew build-up in the showers. Clean dishes were left in the dishwasher when we arrived. The floor was particularly dirty. I'm not expecting a deep clean but it was not even vacuumed. We booked the place for 8 people but only received 5 towels. Check-in and communications were done through personal email instead of VRBO which this was booked on. Why make it more complicated? I would not normally be this picky in a review were this listing owned by the person living there, but as the owner is a company, I expect a lot more.

Bachelor Party

Had a bachelor party of 7 guys, the parking was good and so was the location. The amenities were lackluster and in need of repair. The flooring was peeling up around the trim. The walls had several stains high up from spills. A worn place but a great area just needs a few touch ups.

Awful

This place is terrible so don’t be fooled by the pictures. The area around it is gross, there’s no lobby, the building itself is gross, and the apartment is significantly worse than what the pictures look like. They didn’t give the room number and they gave me an incorrect code to get in to the building and room. I tried texting and calling five times in a row before I got an answer so I was just sitting outside the building waiting for a response. Eventually I got a call back with the code at 4:45pm after waiting 45 minutes past original check-in time at 4pm. They pushed check in to 5:30 because they didn’t clean so we dropped our bags off and then went to dinner while we waited. After almost finishing dinner, I texted and called to see if it was clean so we could go back and shower. I didn’t get a response for another hour only after I called 5 more times. Needless to say the communication was atrocious. Then we came back and it was somewhat clean but the place was still underwhelming and the AC wasn’t working so it was like 90+ degrees in the apartment. Austin Vacay is the property management company that owns this property and I hope no one else ever has to deal with them.

Very clean inside. The property exterior is run down from many years of college students. The elevator is old but works. Location is great.

Pearl Not a Gem

Overall extremely dirty and in a state of general disrepair. Looks nothing like the shiny photos. Our family could not stay in this property with an infant in the condition it was in. Dirty floors that were apparently never cleaned, mold in the bathrooms, dirt splatters all over the walls in this advertised "upscale" rental. The manager would not refund any amount to us, very rude and disrespectful. We would have been happy with a partial refund. Stay away from this property management company.

Great little apartment if you want to be in the center of everything - listing is managed by a third party company so emails and check in process is smooth.

Unfortunately, we were not able to make the trip due to unforeseen circumstances.

My daughter and two of her friends spent the night there on Saturday evening so they could be closer to the church they attend. They said the home was nice and comfortable.
