Beautiful Birthday Celebration!
We celebrated our son’s 50th Birthday. He lives solo in Austin, but no room to celebrate. We live in Kentucky, so we needed to figure out where and how to celebrate with him and his friends. This was the perfect solution! The owner very generously allowed us to invite guests other than just the few of us who were staying overnight, and we had a perfect celebration! Everyone loved the setting, the view, the outdoor decks, and the lovely setting inside. Kids could run off their excess energy outside! Thank you so much to our hosts!

Affordable group accomodations
For the price of just one room at budget hotels, it was awesome to be able to house five adults in a private home with great views and room to relax. Could have handled one more guest. As the owner clearly emphasizes in the description, trying to park up top is not worth it for most vehicles.

Cozy and beautiful stay with warm hosts
We loved the home and the location! The hosts are so lovely, kind and warm to interact with. Make sure you ask them for things to do around the area. I’d definitely visit again and would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a relaxing house!

The house is in good location. Owner did warn there's no water and very dry. But only 2 posted photos about it. Should have had more photos showing the dry and drought. The photos showing water were old shouldn't be on the properties listing page. Parking is tricky and rough driveway. Wish had photos showing it to expect rugged way in back of properties.Upper and lower driveway are steep like 45 degrees. A dolly would help if known in advance. House interior is nice & clean. Upstairs shower had some sewer smell like 5 minutes showering. Owner was friendly and talked thru with confused parking .Thank you. Other than that the stay was fine. Our family would have had more fun if there were water in the lake.

We had a plumber look at the shower for any potential odors but he didn't find anything. Nothing detected but we will certainly keep an eye on it. Lastly, thank you for the feedback on the driveway. Perfect for our friends weekend.
Communication with property owners was great, check in and check out process was a breeze. The house had everything we needed and slept 7 adults comfortably. The weeds around the stairs leading up the house needed to be mowed down to make it a bit easier getting to the house, other than that everything was perfect.

Easy Stay
The sunset views were gorgeous. Sitting around the Fire pit and sitting on the dock were both awesome and relaxing ways to end the day! House had everything we needed and was a great location - 10 mins from everything. Hosts were also very communicative and accommodating. Would stay again!

We had a great time at this house on the lake! It was very clean and fairly spacious! The shower head in the downstairs bathroom kept falling off the shower wall, but other than that, it was comfortable for us.

Beautiful location on a lake. There are a lot of steps which was a bit of a surprise, it would be better to mention more prominently for guests who are coming with elderly family members. Comfortable beds and well supplied kitchen. We enjoyed the kayaks and fire pit.

Great location- home had many historical features.
Location location!. The home had a sewer smell outside and in the add -on room where 1 bath and the laundry were located. Unusable 2nd bath. Older home- linens, and towels were acceptable. One kayak had a hole which we didn’t discover until rescue was needed. A boat was kind enough to get passenger & kayak home. View of the lake was very beautiful. Parking is on a lower level so there are lots of stairs. The steep drive was impossible to navigate so we carried everything up. Once the smell is mitigated, it is a fun location-

Glad you loved the location. We didn't detect any outside odors when we came out the next day, but we are having the septic system professionally inspected just to be sure its operating as it should. We feel bad about the kayak and have since repaired and tested it for leaks. We will gladly discount your next stay as an apology for the kayak and we are relieved that you all made it back to shore safely. Lastly, many of the Lake Travis homes are perched high upon the hillside to protect against flooding. We make mention of the steps in the listing, but we do agree the driveway is not ideal. Not exactly what we bargained for
I think the draw to this property is definitely the view. The house sits atop a high hill and the view is amazing from the deck. The interior of the house left much to be desired. It could use a lot of TLC. With work it has the potential to be an amazing rental property. Also, while we were there the city code inspector came out to the house twice around 10p.m. as the house was not licensed to be rented. That was quite the experience. The owners did compensate us for the inconvenience but nevertheless, an uneasy interaction with city authority.

Thank you for the feedback, Reeshemah. Our designers decorated the interior to promote a countryside cottage feel but we understand it doesn't work for everyone. In speaking with the Code official, he said that the late night visit was due to noise complaints in the area. Regardless, we are partnering with them to ensure full compliance on all fronts. Thank you for allowing us to compensate you for the inconvenience and glad that you enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck!

Great Place for a Family Lake Vacation
This is my second time to stay at this property for a family vacation. We liked being able to bring our boat and leave it at the private dock. It makes boating so much easier when our boat is already in the water. Since this house is a four bedroom, there was plenty of room for our adult children and their “significant others”. The renovated kitchen served us well for our meals, as well as the grill and deck. We made s’mores from the fire in the natural fire pit. We feel secure there in the gated neighborhood. There are a lot of treacherous stairs, but they lead to a fantastic lake view. Though the house wasn’t perfect with some creaky floors, a small shower, and a staircase where you may have to duck your head, we found it the perfect space for our family vacation two years in a row! The owners have continued to take good care of us and communicate well.

Extended Stay
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 10 weeks and were delighted with the choice in doing so. It's about the closest to the city of Austin while simultaneously being on Lake Travis. We got to be immersed in nature with the luxury of still being close to grocery stores, restaurants and other things. The communication and attentiveness from the hosts was great throughout.

Really enjoyed the stay here with a family of four. Lots of steps as noted by other reviewers. House is a little dated but that adds to the rustic feel. Owners were incredibly responsive throughout.

We had a great time and the owners were very responsive to my many questions I had before the trip. The house was clean and cozy and everything as described. They definitely aren't kidding about the steps, it's a little hike from the lower driveway, but the views ARE worth it. Would def stay again, thanks for sharing your home.

We were able to bring our boat and park it in the water at the private dock and enjoy it through the day. We also enjoyed the deck and fire pit. We grilled too. We made a nearby shopping trip for a day at The Domain and then dined at the Oasis just down the road. This house made the perfect vacation for our family!

great weekend at the lake
The property has AMAZING views (well worth the hike up the steps to the house), with a great upper deck that overlooks the lake and a cute little tree swing. The house itself was perfect size for us, being four people, and came with everything that we needed to cook. There is are some board games and a DVD player, as well, if you want to bring your own movies! The kayaks were a nice touch and allowed us to explore a bit! One thing I will say about the property is that the floating dock is not really floating. We had read reviews about it and had asked the owners about it. They were very honest with us that the lake level has not been 100% and therefore the dock is not floating in the water but instead some feet away from the actually water. We were fine with this and this did not bother us or take away from our experience BUT it may bother you if this is something you're looking for! I think it would be a good idea for the owners to let people know that it hasn't been a floating dock for a little while, since grass has even started to grow around the dock. Overall, we had a great experience and would return, again!

Beautiful view on Lake Travis
We rented this house for a guy’s getaway. House is located a few hundred feet above the lake providing for excellent views from the large wood deck. The property needs some TLC, but overall it’s a decent place to stay if you’re looking to be on the water with an affordable price tag.

Graduation weekend
With graduation changed over to virtual, we decided it still would be more fun to watch it online from a lake house rather than our own house. This was a great decision, and we really enjoyed our stay! We brought in crawfish for one evening, grilled another evening, and celebrated with pizza from our favorite Austin location that recently re-opened. After a trip to the nearby HEB, we were set for breakfasts and lunches. I had read the reviews to know not to expect the lake to be high enough for the dock. It's really not a matter of the lake level anymore since it was at 85% which is considered "full" by the City of Austin. It's a matter of adding an extension and having the current dock moved to the new water line like the houses around have done. That would have made everything perfect! We were able to use the kayaks and the pool noodles, and just wade in from the shore. One afternoon we rented waverunners and had a blast! On our final night, there was an incoming storm, and as the temps dropped, we enjoyed a beautiful show of lightening from the deck outside. Communication with the property manager / owner was fast and very helpful. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our time together, and even get a little work done online. Personally, I enjoy looking at some of the older parts of the house and trying to imagine what it was like when first built. If there are any photos of the house or the area from those days, please print and hang inside. That would be so cool to see the history of this area when it was first being developed. Thanks!

The Kids LOVED it.
My husband and I were coming from Midland to meet our daughter and her friends at the Lake House for March break but unfortunately due to the Covid 19 Emergency my husband and I decided to listen to the recommendations to stay home and avoid non-essential travel. We stayed home but the kids were still able to enjoy the home. I was so happy that they could experience some normalcy for a short time when their world is changing so rapidly. They had to move out of their dorms and come home right after their time at the lake.

Great place.
Everything was great. Property has lots to offer. House provides everything you could need. Owners easy to get a Hold of. Know there are a lot of steep stairs getting to and from the property so make sure you are up for a little workout. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Disappointed. Not as expected.
The property manager, Corie, was very easy to contact and was helpful in providing information. She was very accomodating and allowed us an early check in. However, the pictures do not really show the condition of the property. The house was clean but the shower head was broken in one of the bathrooms. She was very apologetic and did have someone come the next evening to fix it. There was also no hot water the second day we were there until we were able to find the circuit breaker and reset the water heater. These were unfortunate and she did respond to my calls right away. The yard of the property needs to be cleaned up but the biggest disappointment was the lake. I received a note about a week before our stay saying that the lake was low and that the dock was not as it should be. This was an understatement as there was no water even close to the dock. I think that I should have been notified that the lake was very low and the dock was not in any water when I booked our stay or as soon as it was apparent that there would not be floating dock as the pictures showed. We brought fishing poles to do some lake fishing from the dock and there was no way that was possible. I realize that the level of the lake is not something that can be controlled but I should have been notified and also been given the opportunity to cancel without penalty.

Our sincere apologies about that cracked shower head mount in the 2nd bath. As you mentioned, we got it repaired the next day. We have no idea why the circuit breaker popped. We sent an electrician inspect it, but he didn't see anything unusual. It seems to be fine now but we do thank you for resetting that breaker switch. Lastly, we recently paid a dock service to get the floating dock(s) back into the water. Both dock sections are floating quite nicely now. In all, we are glad you enjoyed the rest of the house. We will continue to keep our rates at half the rate of other Austin waterfront homes for those that truly enjoy lakeside living. Thanks again for the feedback. Warm regards.

We had everything we needed for our family’s Christmas vacation. Lots of room, beautiful sunsets and strong WiFi! Corie and Bill even put up a Christmas tree for us. We would have given this rental 5 stars if there weren’t so many steps. It wasn’t such a deterrent that we wouldn’t return again!

Rustic living overlooking Lake Travis.
Beautiful location and dock on Lake Travis. One very very small bathroom upstairs with the three bedrooms. Larger bathroom on lower level adjoining kitchen, awkward floor plan. Very few amenities in kitchen, bathrooms and dock. One hand towel upstairs for the six of us. Cheapest of bedding. Plastic on mattresses. Kitchen very minimally stocked. AC couldn’t keep up with 100°+ weather. Vent needs to be vacuumed. Can’t rate cleanliness very high. Dock is in rustic condition. Driveway on main road is very dangerous so you have to park below which is quite a distance to carry luggage and groceries. Glad to have had young adults with us to help carry things up those stairs. But all that aside, it’s still an okay house in a great location.

Hi Sharon, We appreciate your feedback and we are glad that you agree that the lake house is at a beautiful location. We want our guests to have a memorable experience and continue to make improvements whenever possible. For instance, we recently remodeled the kitchen with new appliances, changed the mattress protectors with an upgraded quality soft fabric protector to eliminate any plastic feel, and updated some of the artwork pieces. Texas can get pretty hot at times, so we also just serviced and boosted the central A/C unit to keep pace with those summer 100°+ plus temps you mentioned. We do our best to keep our guests informed of all the steps leading up and down to the lake. With changing lake levels, it’s pretty typical of Lake Travis waterfront homes to be perched on a hillside with lots of steps leading to the waterfront. The dock is well suited with the rustic setting and we now have two kayaks, fishing poles, and some pretty comfy dock/deck chairs. We also upgraded the chairs on the upper decks to enjoy those perfect territorial sunsets. If you should return, we think you will be quite impressed with all the recent updates and the careful attention we’ve put into the house to make you and our future guests more comfortable. Despite the recent cost of upgrades, we will continue to keep our nightly rates affordable to vacationers that truly enjoy lakeside living. Warm regards, Corie & Bill

Weekend getaway
This lake house is the perfect place to stay. It feels so secluded but just a quick 6 minute drive away is everything you could need. It was the best weekend getaway I’ve ever had. With the water so close, the kayaks available for use, and the gorgeous views, you didn’t need to go anywhere.

Great place to stay on the lake! Very clean and nicely decorated. Lots of space for a family. As they state there is a lot of stairs to get to the house. It’s worth it if you can make the little hike. Use the lower entrance. The street above is very busy.

Relaxing Lake House
The uphill incline gives the legs a workout, but it is all so good! The quiet location along with the very clean house and wonderful private dock for just chilling and relaxing with the lake views or kayaking were just what we needed to slow down the pace for a few days.
