"Child and pet friendly establishment"
My wife and I were pleased to learn, via an online Google search, the the Best Western Pocaterra Inn in Canmore, Alberta, was both child and pet friendly. That is to say the hotel allowed us to book a standard room (2 x queen beds) to accommodate ourselves, three of our young grandchildren (ages 3, 5, & 8 years-old), and our 8 month-old German Shepherd puppy.
The room rate, though not the least expensive for the locale, was reasonable. Moreover, the "Full Breakfast" advertised on the hotel's 'Web site was, incredibly, just that. The breakfast buffet was among the best we've experienced at any hotel, at any price. Dry cereal of several varieties, fruit, pastries, four hot dishes (omelets, sausage/bacon, home fries and French toast, a number of juices, teas, and hot coffee--all this, and more, were available and plenteous. We calculated that the same meal ordered at local Canmore eaterie would have run us close on CAD$40.00 for ourselves and the three children, so the savings on food more than compensated for the extra CAD$25.00/night we paid for the room.
Another plus--a boon, really--was the hotel pool. The grandkids absolutely loved the heated facility which features a full-size 'tube' slide. Twenty minutes of the up-down slide antics left them thoroughly played out. Unused by us but available was the gym, which is also full-size and was well equipped. A sauna room fills out the complement of 'spa' type facilities at this particular facility. Score: 8.5/10.
