Wonderful place - beautiful rooms and grounds, helpful and friendly staff, convenient but quiet and peaceful and away from the downtown hustle and bustle. Close to the trailhead for the El Camino. Highly recommend.

They start the day right with a nice breakfast including fresh fruit and eggs. The staff is friendly and helpful. The WiFi was great. Although there are small screens in the shutters screens on the windows would keep the mosquitos out better. The courtyard can be noisy at night when the place is busy.

It is in good location. Nice hotel. Helpful staff. The only thing I found odd was no phone in the room to call the front desk. Also no password for the internet in room. Which is why I needed the phone to call the front desk.

Great place but needs a few improvements!
It was a really nice and relaxing place. Very safe but a bit outdated, the fan was missing a wheel so you couldn't turn it on, had to use players... My german neighbors were very loud and the doors being so old it felt as if they were in my room. No WIFI whatsoever! Breakfast was yummy and the staff was superb. Love the grounds!

Comfort and luxury in Barichara
A lovely room in the most beautiful Columbian city ever. Ours hosts we're most helpful with bus's chefs and taxis. The gardens fill the grounds with exotic flowers.

Quelle est la catégorie de cet établissement ?
Mon budget hôtel quotidien est de 100.000 COP. Mais pour Barichara, je n’ai guère eu le choix, donc j’ai décidé de me payer un bon hôtel à 271.000 COP la nuit ! Presque 3 fois plus ! Alors, j’espérais beaucoup, pourquoi pas le grand luxe  Que nenni ! Je suis passé par des hôtels à 100.000 bien mieux que celui-ci ! La chambre est immense, c’est vrai. Par contre, la salle de bain est toute petite avec un lavabo minuscule. Malgré l’espace, il n’y a pas de meuble secrétaire pour écrire, il n’y a pas de réfrigérateur pour rafraîchir ma gourde non-plus. L’électricité est obsolète au point que j’ai failli m’électrocuter en débranchant une lampe de chevet. Et puis il y a ce bruit incessant d’un compresseur ou je ne sais quoi qui gronde 3 secondes toutes les 12 secondes sur lequel donnaient mes fenêtres … Grrrr. Et le WiFi fantôme ! A la première pluie il disparait ! Et comme il pleuvait tous les soirs … Reste la piscine, assez trouble avec de nmbreux insectes à la surface puisque la filtration ne fonctionnait pas. Le petit-déjeuner est standard, la literie, la propreté irréprochables. L’accueil est parfait, aimable et compétent. (En espagnol seulement …) Mais surtout le bâtiment (une ancienne mission ?) est MAGNIFIQUE, bien placé et silencieux ! Et c’est d’autant plus frustrant car le potentiel est énorme. Alors, peut-être que les prix prohibitifs ne sont pratiqués que pour le week-end pascal, mais la prestation vaut à peine 80.000 COP !!

Dit was het duurste hotel dat we boekten maar ook het slechtste. De eigenaars zijn vriendelijk maar hun accommodatie is zeer primitief. We boeken een kamer van “niveau”: klein donker kamertje naast de receptie en aan de straatkant (hoe zou de goedkoopste eruit zien?). De eigenaars waren wel zo vriendelijk ons een upgrade te geven naar een junior suite - leek mooie ruime kamer. Maar: het toilet was defect. De verlichting in de kamer was gedeeltelijk defect (je moet met het lichtje van je IPhone tot aan je bed sukkelen om daar een lamp aan te steken). Dag 2 geen WIFI meer ... Dag 3 geen verlichting buiten zodat je weer de hulp van Steve Jobs moest inroepen om je kamer te vinden. Het is allemaal geen ramp dat niet alles perfect in orde is in een hotel van 200 jaar oud ... maar dan een tarief aanrekenen van een luxe hotel?? We verbleven er 3 nachten (in de week- met quasi geen bezetting, dus super laag seizoen!) en betaalden 305.000 COP per nacht. Bij het uitchecken was niemand van de eigenaars te bespeuren ... ik zou zeker geweigerd hebben om de 50.000COP “verzekering” te betalen! Ze weten dus heel goed dat ze klanten bestelen! Als je dit hotel aan de helft van de prijs kan boeken is het te overwegen, want de ligging is centraal in Barichara en alles was proper. Maar, ik zou nooit terug gaan naar Barichara. Het is gelijkaardig aan Villa de Leyva, maar duurder, geen enkel restaurant op niveau van Villa de Leyva ... en op werkdagen bijna alles gesloten.

Nous avons passé un séjour à Barichara, le hôtes très charmant, les chambres sont calmes et confortables et nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce hôtel qui permet de rester tranquille comme à la maison le soir après avoir beaucoup marché toute la journée, si nous revenons à Barichara nous reviendrons..
