Disappointed with service

When we arrived at the hotel, while waiting for my partner to go look at our license plate number, the 2 workers at the desk were talking negatively to each other about hotel management.
After we got to our room, there was 1 standard bed and a pull-out couch , but we had reserved a room with 2 queen beds. When I called the front desk to ask, they told me they overbooked. This is something they should have told us beforehand. They did not apologize for the mixup or offer any incentive (discount room, free meal, etc.) and were not very respectful.
