Blue Ridge Mountain Getaway, Pet-Friendly

Made with couples and single guests in mind... Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains only 8 miles from the heart of Brevard is our private studio retreat. Outside city limits, the rural setting brings peace and relaxation. At an elevation of approximately 2,500 feet, our secluded home overlooks the wooded hillside.

Your private entrance opens to a large, well-lit room. A queen bed, living area and kitchenette make up the studio. Above the fireplace set in fieldstone is a flat screen HDTV that can be pulled out and turned to face whichever part of the room you are seated. The Kitchenette includes Refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, Air Fryer Grill/bake (we do not have a standard oven), Nuwave hot plate, drip coffee maker, blender and kitchen accessories (cookware, plates, glasses, mugs...) are supplied in cabinets and pantry. The pantry provides extra storage as well as an area for the free standing garment rack. An iron, ironing board and other necessities are included for your convenience. Note: Fireplace is electric. No need for wood indoors.

The studio is designed for two people with short visits in mind. Maximum stay: 7 nights.

A large bathroom with seated shower has ample room for comfort.

Entry to the studio is accessible via a walkway which runs along the back of the house and is covered by our second story deck. The first part of this walkway has storage against the building for home supplies. Outside your private area, there is a picnic table and seating area with a view of the hillside and forest. There are three steps that lead to your private entrance. It is not wheelchair accessible.

WiFi Streaming services include YouTubeTV, Netflix, Prime, Peacock and Roku.

Kick back and relax around the firepit overlooking the hillside. Please bring locally purchased firewood if you wish to have a fire. An attachment for grilling is available. We also have a small charcoal grill just right for two if you prefer. Bring charcoal if that’s your preference.

We are pet-friendly… “dog” friendly. Our PET FEE is $25 PER DOG PER STAY. Sorry, no cats or puppies. Two small dogs or one large dog.

We have a social dog who enjoys playing with other dogs and is usually off-leash. Charlie will most-likely be the first to greet you. Our yard is not fenced.

Our road is part gravel and part paved. We recommend 4-wheel drive in the winter months.

Note: Our water is better than bottled. It’s well water and house filtered. Drink from the sink!

Perfect for two people who want to be outdoors
The studio is exactly as pictured! And full of delightful artwork and nuances that make it totally feel like a mountain home, which is what we wanted. Plenty of space for two people, and amenities easy access even if not sitting out. Fancy big meal cooking might not be easy; we had no need for that and did fine with the kitchen as is. For anyone who wants to be out and about all day and have a cozy, super pleasant welcoming retreat waiting at the end of the day, this is the spot. Kathy is sweet as pie, Glenn very welcoming and Charlie the dog is a love.

Cozy Mountain Get Away
Cozy Basement Studio Apartment was a lovely stay for a mountain get away. The hosts are very communicative and left very detailed instructions on how to use things and lots of ideas for things to do in the area. Lots of extra touches like soaps and snacks that were appreciated. Address said Brevard but was closer to Rossman. About 15 minutes from downtown Brevard.

Awesome rental
Kathy and Glenn were wonderful hosts! Kathy was super kind and communicative also gave us some great recommendations and was super accommodating. The best little mountain gem!
Oof, where do I begin? I asked my partner for her favorite attributes and she stated, hospitality, decor, cleanliness, courtesy and fire pit. We used the fire pit both nights and she loved it. Both hosts greeted us as we arrived and we super attentive. They were quick to respond and even warn us of local flooding, providing solutions and alternatives. Once we arrived we found the place absolutely breathe taking and adorable. They were so helpful and provided us with tons of fun resources the other only locals can provide. We loved the stay!

Cute basement apartment in the mountains
The place was very affordable. It is a really nice little basement apartment in the mountains. While there isn’t a traditional kitchen stove and oven, there is a hot plate, air fryer, and toaster oven. We made it work. The place is decorated very cute and cozy.

Peaceful and Beautiful
The perfect property for our weekend getaway to the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute, Judaculla Rock, and other natural sites in southwestern NC. The place was spacious, very clean and comfortable, and decorated nicely. Plenty of space to spread out and the bathroom is quite large. We enjoyed our morning coffee at the table on the covered deck outside and watched the leaves fall. Would definitely rent again.

Perfectly cozy and clean
I had the best weekend getaway bringing my dog to the mountains for the first time. Their property had everything I needed to have that fresh air and mountain view I wanted to experience this fall. I was impressed by the details inside like their excellent bedding, maps and a personal bound notebook with directions to sites of interest near Brevard. It was the perfect property to bring my dog along, she felt right at home on the front porch, their yard, and in the dog bed. Kathy and Glenn have thought of everything! There were dog towels, grill supplies, a stocked kitchen, and extra griddles. I could have been perfectly content being at the house reading a book for the weekend because the view and atmosphere are as lovely in person as in the pictures. I was thinking of getting a bed and breakfast in Brevard but wanted to bring my dog hiking and have her at a place with less people walking in and out of rooms/making noise. Staying here gave me the same experience of "getting away to the mountains" and feeling pampered by where I was staying. They are both so helpful and welcoming. They were kind enough to check and make sure I made it out of the parkway where there was service on my way home! Any questions about what to do in Brevard or where to see a sunset/sunrise/ hike questions they have you covered. I learned many new spots from them I look forward to visiting in the future.

Kathy and Glenn were great hosts. Pics look exactly like in posted photos. The place is very homey with a separate entry behind home. You have a beautiful view overlooking mountains. The kitchen is small, but all your needs are met. Coffee pot, 3 different, separate burners, air fryer, toaster oven, toaster. These are left in pantry. No need to take coffee, as ground coffee is provided with filters. Also, snacks are left, including morning breakfast bars and microwave popcorn. They even leave dog blankets and a dog bed for your dog. The bed is queen size. Shower is a walk-in. Charlie, their dog, is very friendly.

Charming Mountain Getaway
My husband and I had the good fortune to stay in this darling VRBO in Brevard. Great location, with a private entrance and incredible mountain views. The studio apartment is ADORABLE, and seems much larger than the square footage listed (thanks to a great floor plan and well-appointed furnishings and decor). Last but not least, our hosts were so kind and helpful. Even the dog was a sweet ambassador for the property -- joyfully greeting us every time we returned back from sight-seeing. We had a blast. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

PERFECTION!!
Kathy was amazing with communication, sensitivity, and thoughtfulness when planning this stay. I was planning a surprise birthday party for my fiancé’ and she even left him a card and candy! I would have stolen the bed and taken it with me if I could have; yes, it was THAT comfortable! The studio was super clean; the setting was beautiful, and the host and hostess were lovely. I would definitely return and stay here again, maybe in the spring next time just to see all of the rhododendrons in bloom. Oh, and Charlie was also the friendliest host of all!
