Great getaway
The lake was beautiful. The location of the cabin was perfect. The dock was just a short hop from the cabin. The dock could use some up keep ie.. broken boards screws coming out. One small thing is the welcome book could use an update… there is not a dish washer in the cabin. The local store is not there anymore it is now the mercantile. All and all it was the perfect getaway

Lake view ❤️
My husband and I rented the place since we have family in the area and love this lake. This is our first stay at the cabin and this side of the lake. It was nothing short of gorgeous. The view it self is amazing and the cabin has everything we needed. We also loved that it had the dock and canoe as well. We will definitely be back!

Anniversary getaway
Could not be more pleased with our stay. I cannot express how beautiful the view was. Coffee and all of our meals were enjoyed right on the large porch. And our nights ended at the firepit. Cabin was fully stocked with everything you could need and the owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Highly recommended...especially at this time of the year when leaves were just turning. The perfect getaway for our Anniversary.

I like that it was on the water. We enjoy swimming, fishing, and the canoe. But the hot tub didn't work and the shower head appeared to be loose from the other pipe. My hubby thought it would give way while we were there.

Reasonably priced and very nice.
The only complaint I have is that the driveway being gravel and at an decline/incline can be a bit tough to get out of. Otherwise the property was very nice. Everything worked and it was clean!

I can only recommend this property for two adults to sleep. Yes, there is a sofa that makes into a bed but it is small and hard surface. Not ideal for two adults. The views are amazing and the fishing was fun. Perfect no frills location to get away.

Beautiful Place by The lake

Beautiful lake front setting. Fairly steep slope from cabin to shore or dock next property over. Looked like there was a dock at this property previously. Had to plunge toilet almost every flush. Washer and dryer worked well. A fan in the bedroom would make it a bit more comfortable temp wise as the only cooling is a window AC in the living room. The fridge froze most of our food / drinks, ruined some, and there is not a close grocery or restaurant. Otherwise we enjoyed our vacation and time there.

We have maintenance and provide a contact number, but this wasn’t reported to allow us to fix any issues or change the thermostat on the fridge. We have not had anyone else report these prior to your stay or after. The dock is a very easy walk from the place you stayed. There are a few family owned restaurants and a small mercantile close by listed in the welcome book in the rental. Please come back and stay at our beautiful lake again!

So peaceful and quiet!
This is a great little cabin - the waterfront and lake views are what really make this place awesome! Everything worked in the cabin. Water pressure was very good, hot water for sinks and shower was nice and hot. Stove and oven worked great. Refrigerator was very cold! Did not get in the hot tub, but the water looked clean. Be sure to put trash in trash bags and make sure lid is closed on outside trash can - even with that, we had a very neat/tidy raccoon (assuming) that opened the trash can lid, tore open the trash bag, ate an entire package of cinnamon rolls (thrown away because of ants), and closed the lid afterwards leaving only 2 pieces of trash on the ground. Might recommend some bungee cord to help secure trash lid. We did have a number of fruit flies in the kitchen and tiny ants on the kitchen counter on Saturday afternoon when we arrived, but I think that is probably the fault of the previous renters and not the cabin (or management) itself. Because ants were already present, our cinnamon rolls on the counter became an ant magnet, thus the reason we had to throw them out. I'm sure the cabin is sprayed regularly for pests/bugs/ants, but wanted to mention this as the ants were pretty active (seemed to be coming from under the kitchen faucet area). This is a cabin in the woods. With a great waterfront location! We would definitely stay here again!

The property is very quaint and cozy. The amenities and the view are spectacular. The hot tub is clean and tucked away from view but keeping the lake overlook. The canoe is just a few steps away. I emailed mgmt that the canoe seats were cracked through and they had an alternate canoe brought right over w/in the hour. The level of customer service is very impressive. There is not much of a yard if you have children who need to run. It’s less than an hours drive to the VA Creeper Trail which we really enjoyed. The information booklet inside the cabin has directions to hikes to which you can canoe. I didn’t notice this until we were leaving but it would definitely be worth checking out. Overall, it is a very peaceful place to stay. Nothing like having your morning tea on the deck overlooking a serene lake with a mountainous backdrop. And the owners seem eager to make your stay enjoyable and they did a wonderful job. Thank you kindly, I’m certain we will be back.

Great fishing cabin with wonderful view
We stay here every year and always come back because of it’s great fishing access & breathtaking views. Noticed many upgrades were made to the cabin but would recommend changing the lock (it is not secure-easily opened without correct key) and securing the outside trash can lid as many critters are “trashing” our trash. Overall, we loved our stay!

Sweet cabin right on the water. We had everything we needed. The scenery and lake are one of the best we’ve seen. Two items to consider and plan for before you rent: one, it is quite far to get things like gas, ice, supplies, etc. so plan ahead. Two, the driveway is quite steep and covered with a thick layer of loose gravel. We came in a truck and got stuck in the gravel one time, but managed to get out. Be very careful when parking. Also this is more of a traditional cabin type house and not a fancy chalet. We absolutely loved it, but it may not be for everyone. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect getaway
This rental was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. It is great for a couple or small family and had the necessary amenities. We loved being right on the lake and took the opportunity to fish a little each day. We enjoyed other activities that were a bit of a drive, but that was well worth it for the peacefulness and seclusion we had at the cabin. And the hot tub was a hit! Everything was clean and tidy. We'll definitely stay again in the future.

Perfect Romantic Getaway
My partner and I stayed here for a long weekend ski trip at Beech Mountain, NC and absolutely loved the cabin! Perfect size for the two of us and everything we were looking for in seclusion, views and that tucked await mountain feel. While the drive is a tad intimidating at night or in snow, the owners equipped us with all we needed to be comfortable in our directions and what to expect. The drive to the nearest ski resorts is between an hour and 75 minutes, but we enjoyed the peaceful backroads and would also consider coming back in the summer or for a non-ski vacation! The hot tub was such a fun added bonus!

The view is the best thing about this place.
The owner and property manager seemed nice, but something they don't tell you until after you've fully paid the nonrefundable fee is that some of the roads are quite steep and you will definitely need a 4wheel drive in the winter. The property itself was absolutely not worth the money and not because we were only able to stay 1 of the 3 nights we paid for, but mostly because it's a tiny trailer and the pictures are misleading. Also, the entire place smelled of mold and as soon as I opened the cabinets under the kitchen sink I discovered the source, it was disgusting. Other issues were that the bottom shelf in the fridge was broken, the floor in the bathroom was rotting in 1 corner near the shower that they covered with a rug, which made the small shower feel unsafe. Lastly, don't sit on the bottom edge of the bed or it will flip up due to the cheap metal frame which also squeaks with every slight movement. The few positives was that the bed and futon were at least soft, the water pressure was great, the kitchen was fully stocked even including a keurig (which seemed out of place in such a dinky little trailer) and even though the hotub was old, it appeared clean and the view from it was truly delightful at sunset! Otherwise I certainly wouldn't recommend wasting any money on this property.

Hi Kevin! We hope you know that when you travel to the mountains and if you would have read the emails I sent you, you would have known you needed a 4x4. Most people know this when they travel to the mountains of NC and TN. We did everything in our power to make sure you had a great Christmas. Hard to return your money when your belongings are still in the rental. This was your first experience staying in a VRBO. We hope you now know to check the weather when traveling to places that snow. It’s unfortunate that you decided to stay only 8 hours in the cabin and was able to say these horrible things. Hopefully you have a better 2021. Gods speed to you and your family.

The location of this property is amazing! Literally sits right on the lake. Dock access with cannons was perfect. Although we did not get in the water (went mid November). Pleanty to do around the area. Major towns were an easy and scenic drive. Property its self was as advertised and accommodating to a weekend getaway on the lake!! Property could use a little TLC and updates but it meets all the needs of mountain retreat.
