Nice, quiet escape
Staying on the lake was great. The fire pit was nice on the cool evenings. My friend and I didn’t spend a lot of time at the house because we had friends in another house up the mountain. However the time we did spend was very good. The views outside are the best part. It is exactly as advertised. I had another friend ask for the information about the house because he wants to go back up and stay there. Needless to say that speaks volumes. I will stay again if the need arises. One more thing. I had a question about something and emailed the managing agency very late one night and I had a reply shortly after. Great customer service!!

Beautiful place on the lake
We’ve stayed here several times and it never disappoints. This is the place to go if you like swimming in the lake, relaxing on the porch and enjoying beautiful views.

Small family getaway

Peaceful Fun
We love many things about this property! It is super clean as a start, the porch deck is where we hang out and we love that it has a boat dock! Great location for kayaking since it is near the river that feeds the lake. Great communications for check in. Most of the time it is very quiet unless you get some loud neighbors! Escape them on a boat!!! We highly recommend.

Great family vacation spot
I would fully recommend this as a place to stay when you visit the mountains/lake. We were right on the water. We rented a pontoon from the marina and were able to dock it right outside our place. That was so convenient. The deck was a great place to watch the sunset. This location had everything that we needed for our cooking needs. It was very clean. It was so easy to rent, and I was able to make payments. I will definitely use Vrbo again and will stay here if we are in the area again.

Fun fishing spot!
Lake was easy to access (not a lot of steps). Quiet and beautiful area. My hubby caught fish, including 2 large flathead catfish...from the pier. The porch looking over the lake was nice for relaxing or eating a meal on the picnic table.

Very peaceful water-front with a view
Gorgeous views and super peaceful. We loved sitting on the porch and just watching boats ride by. Unfortunately, it was a bit too windy for canoeing but we still enjoyed our time!

Not worth the money
The property was clean but horribly outdated and lacking any comforts. Listing states mobile home, well it felt like we were sleeping in a camper. The grill was broken, so no cooking outside. No board games or activities like the listing boasted. The kitchen isn't stocked with adequate utensils, to be comfortable here you might as well bring everything with you. It felt like a bad camping trip and we will never waste money staying here again.

Billy, I’m really sorry you walked away from your stay feeling like this. The previous renters wished they could have stayed longer. The grill is new this year. I’m surprised you didn’t call to ask for assistance if you had any issues. I would highly recommend that you touch base with your future host for any assistance you may need during your stay. The board games are in the cabinet. Our goal is to always make this a great trip. Wishing you and your family the best in your future travels.

Fishing vacation
The property was very clean and neat. This was the second time that we have rented this property and we would definitely recommend it to anyone that would like to get away for a week or weekend. Thanks for having us for the weekend we really needed a little rest and relaxation.

Wonderful Accomodations
We were very impressed with the cleanliness first and foremost. The setting is beautiful and we were able to bring our boat over from Mallard Cove Marina and dock it right there. Jennifer communicated with us and she was very timely and efficient. Our little dog enjoyed hanging on the porch! We hope to stay there again soon!!

The area is completely quiet, the lake is wonderful and the dock is exactly what we needed! The only problem with our trip---it just was not long enough!!

Appalachian trail trip
My 10 year old wanted to hike some of the Appalachian trail this summer, we also have an 8 year old and a 3 year old. We were able to find a few different trail access points appropriate for our family within 45 min drive. The property was perfect to come back to after a day of hiking to canoe and swim. The property manager is easy to get ahold of for any needs. Very happy with our stay. We also took the very pretty drive to mountain city and ate at Captain Jims which had excellent food at great prices, and Subas which was also excellent but a little more expensive (save room for dessert).

Last minute trip
Very nice 2 bedroom one bath with a beautiful long porch with view of lake and dock with boat slip. Would suggest making prior arrangements before going if planning to take boat to put in before arriving and leaving trailer somewhere. Fish springs is the closest ramp to put in, but the places we called to leave our trailer was either not doing that at this time or would not answer the phone. The driveway to the cabin is very slim, one direction and steep, so backing the boat in was alittle tricky but doable. The cabin was fully furnished with everything you needed for a stay other than clothes and food. We will definitely be booking this cabin for a getaway again!!!

Wonderful fall mini vacation
Everything was a positive experience renting this cabin. The Manager Jennifer was very good at communicating, the house keeper Rose had the house clean and ready to enjoy! The beds were so comfortable! Kitchen and bathroom was stocked with plenty of items that were needed. We had a excellent stay! The weather was cold, but we were very cozy inside. The only thing that could be done, is trim the cypress trees and trees by the road, to let one's pulling out, be able to see on coming traffic coming? But that's the only thing that could possibly be done...Everything else was perfect!

Great LakeSide Retreat
The house/cabin was clean & ready for us other than the yard... it was way past the point of needing to be mowed. The weeds in the yard were at least a foot tall & were the kind that stuck to your feet/legs/pants but worse of all, our small dog had them "glued" all in her fur... which we're still trying to remove. We arrived on Sat with the weeds were already this bad but the yard was not cut til Thurs (near the end of / during our stay, we would have preferred this being taken care of before our arrival, not during our wk there) Other than this issue with the place it self... we do hope to return.

Best place to unplug
This is our second year at the lake. The Lakeside cabin was comfy and well stocked. The location is perfect for kayaking into the Cherokee National Forest. A peaceful and restful stay away from the hustle and bustle!!!

Wedding weekend hideaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We were attending a wedding in Butler and found this to be the perfect place to stay - close to the venue and then perfect for a relaxing day afterwards. We enjoyed the canoes and the lake and the fire pit! We were close enough to others who attended the wedding to socialize but also grateful for our space to "chill". Highly recommend staying here!

Best lake in the South
My Minnesotan wife has high standards for what a proper lake getaway requires, and this passes her test with flying colors. This is a lovely and peaceful lake and it's great to float in. Great big porch to waste the day on. The property may not be luxurious, but if you demand luxury, you don't deserve Watauga Lake anyway.

Great cabin
We had a great experience at the cabin. It’s great for a lake weekend. We kayaked, rented a boat, hammocked. We got to see a bear swim across the lake which was pretty crazy but amazing! I’ve already sent the link to this cabin to other family members who I know would enjoy this.

Amazing Time
Had an absolute amazing time at this property. We had everything we needed for our stay. The cabin was clean and the perfect size. We took advantage of the canoes and did a lot of fishing. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind, but also had fast internet so we were able to stay connected. I also had service without being connected to WiFi (I have Verizon). Will definitely stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!

Great little cabin
We were there from Sunday until Wednesday during January 2021, It was nice and quiet. It snowed while we were there, and my kids really enjoyed it. It's right in front of the lake. It's a nice small cabin with 2 bedrooms, and a pull out sofa bed in the living room. It was a perfect size for us since we are 2 adults with 3 kids and dog. It's fully equipped with everything that you need, just bring your own food and your set. We had good cell service while at the cabin with Verizon.
