Amazing!
We had a fantastic time at the Coachhouse. Communication, check in, we’re all top notch. The Coachhouse was so charming. Such a peaceful setting and a place to truly unwind yet close enough to Galway, Ashford Castle, the Cliffs etc. We had a great time exploring and having downtime. The drive into the property is something from a fairytale! We have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals and this is one of our top stays ever! Highly suggest!!

Gateway to the West in home away from home
The house was lovely, situated in a quiet courtyard with the kitchen being a highlight of the premises. The delph and utensils supllied were of high quality and a big help when travelling with a hungry family. If you like to holiday in an unspoilt area where archaeology and history abound this is the place for you. On the border between Galway and Mayo you can avail of the best both counties have to offer. Galway city and Salthill are easily accessible. As is Cong if you like cycling and forest trails. Finola made us so welcome and was always available if needed with recomendations and was very kind to our kids. Róisín and Tom.

Just Fine
It suited our needs just fine for a short three night stay. The one bathroom shower didn’t work but there were two others that did so I didn’t even contact the property manager. The same bedrooms heat didn’t work but the comforters were so heavy that we managed to be comfortable enough and the heat coming from the bathroom took the edge off.

Thank you for taking the time to write your experience of the property which I do have to come out with hands up that the booking was not flagged so we were trying to play catch up when the guests arrived The property was cleaned and ready but we would always have the heating on in advance but had not in this instance . The situation was rectified immediately and the owner (lives on site) and checked with the guests who said that they were happy with everything. We rely on and welcome feedback from guests so if there are any issues that arise ( heater not on or working - this time of year , mid November , sometimes rads need to be freed) PLEASE make us away of it at the time , message us, these are all easy things to correct but happy that you were warm enough and enjoyed everything else about the property and the location worked for you. Kind Regards John & Finola

Real feel of Ireland.
This was a beautiful location except the driveway into the place was pretty long and narrow. But it was such a pretty place. The only complaint I had was the bathrooms were all upstairs so you had to climb 14 steps to get there. By the picture it looks like it is a separate house but it is attached to 2 or more other cottages. It was still very nice and had the cutest dog chained to his dog house. Very friendly. If you don't like deep into the country side it is not for you. But if you like a real feel of Ireland it is a wonderful experience. I would go again.

Not given room we booked
We weren't able to stay together. We were 4 people, husband and wife and son and friend so we needed 2 rooms one with 2 beds or a 3 room unit. We had booked the coach house and we were put in another room. And one of our party was put in a separate room. Furniture was uncomfortable, bed needed more pillows, hot water wasn't working for shower, and internet was intermittent at best.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know of your experience prior to your arrival , we did inform you that the Coachouse was not available for your stay (3 bedrooms) but we were delighted to upgrade you to one of the Villas (2 bedrooms each with luxury bathroom ensuite) and also a third bedroom with private bathroom so your boys would not have to share a bedroom. You certainly gave no indication at the time that you were not happy with the arrangement as offered and the complimentary guinness which we joked about. There was no issue with hot water during your stay that we were made aware of at the time but the internet was intermittant due to the storm conditions on the 4th October . I am really sorry that the experience did not live up to your expectation and if we had any inkling that you were dissatisfied in any way , we would have welcomed the opportunity to refund you and for you to get alternative accommodation . with every best wishes John & Finola Cooke

An average stay
On our arrival at the Coach House, the keys were in the door and no sign of the managers. We entered to find there were no towels for our party of 6. We rang the manager who said she would be back later that night and she would give them to us then. When she arrived we asked about hot water and were told it was on. However it was not and there was no hot water till the following day. This was not a great start to our stay. She ignored us till our departure waving as she left the property.

Clearly I am very surprised at the Travellers account of some of the details during their Stay at the Coachouse Firstly , the key is left in the inside door of the property so as not to tie guests to a specific arrival time I do always try to be on site and greet guests but it is not always possible however , the property was ready for the guests on arrival They arrived in the early afternoon We had had a full changeover that day and I was awaiting towels which generally guests do not require immediately on arrival The guests had their full quota of towels as soon as they were ready . Unfortunately they did not tell me about there was an issue with the hot water (somebody had inadvertently turned off the boiler) until the following day even though I had given them information on grocery shopping and any information they requested and they knew where to find me for any queries . Once the issue was brought to my attention , it was rectified immediately At a loss to understand what was reproachable about waving them goodbye or the assertion that they were "ignored" if guests wish to engage , I enjoy very much , but only at their behest kind regards Finola

We were 5 of us on holiday traveling around Ireland . We wanted to stay in the country for a few nights . It was perfect ! We stayed in the Coach House . Finola and John were wonderful hosts . Saffron the dog was always happy to see us . If you appreciate a historic estate this is perfect . Built in the 1700’s it was fun exploring the main house and the gardens . What an experience
Upon driving up to the Estate Home we knew we were in for an amazing stay. The views and history that are associated with their estate give you another perspective on life. We were immediately greeted by Finola and shown our lodgings. The lodgings were very nice, and comfortable, but then you get to walk around their estate as well. We visited with the horses and very friendly pet dog, Saffron, and then walked amongst about 50 sheep and lambs. Truly amazing. We would definitely revisit their home. Just lovely.

Perfect Irish Accomodations!
My family and I recently stayed at the Heritage Coach House for our one week getaway to Ireland and I have to say that we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The house was tucked away in a beautiful, serene setting in the Irish countryside and off the beaten path (which is exactly what we envisioned when we booked). Every bedroom had an en suite so my older kiddos were very happy too! We cooked many meals in the pretty kitchen and enjoyed the scenery outside, including playing kickball in the courtyard and walking Finola's sweet doggy around the grounds. The location was great too, just a short drive to Galway, the Wild Atlantic Way, and to lots of amazing Pubs. I also cannot say enough about Finola and her family for being such gracious hosts! She saw to it that our stay was nothing but perfect. We even had a sick 3 year old, and Finola recommended a brilliant Pediatrician in town that we got in to see immediately for an unfortunately timed ear infection. She was a wealth of information, so helpful, and always available for us the entire stay. We cannot WAIT to come back and will definitely be lodging here when we do!! We absolutely, highly recommend this estate!

Other--worldly Beautiful
This historical family estate consists of a few buildings within a large parcel of mostly wooded property. It’s secluded and quiet, yet just a few minutes drive from the lovely town of Headford. Our “Coach House” was ar the end of a four-unit building in a quiet courtyard. The stone walls between the housing units are so thick, you will not hear your neighbors. The owner/manager (Findlay) lives across the courtyard in a separate building, and like the housekeeping staff, she is a warm, attentive, and knowledgeable host. Our quarters were clean as a whistle, too. Being nestled in a courtyard of ivy-adorned stone buildings made my wife and I feel like we were living in a 16th Century village —- complete with its own dog: Saffron! She’s the sweetest white lab you’ll ever see. And, as a special bonus Finola will let you take her for walks. When I looked out of our second story bedroom window and waved at her in the courtyard, her tail would wag like a windshield wiper on its fastest setting. That seemed to mean it was time for yet another of our long walks through the bucolic Irish countryside. Heaven!

Finola and John were great hosts....everything was perfect! Even when the hot water went out unexpectedly, they were quick to fix the issue and left us flowers and a note when it was fixed! Great country location but still close driving distance to everything we wanted to see and visit while we were there. Grocery store and restaurants close by in town too. Thank you for a beautiful place to enjoy our family time! Your dog and horses were the final touches on a perfect stay!

Almost....Perfect
My family was looking for a realistic Irish experience and the Heritage Coach House was so close I wanted to give it a five. The house was clean, the kitchen was the bomb the sitting area was cozy. The remote setting, was within spitting distance of Galway and the St. Patrick's Day Parade. The lack of total in house laundry when it was one of our major must haves and advertised was off putting. Fiona kindy offered to dry our first load but we felt totally guilty.

Wonderful!
We recently vacationed here with our family and were very pleased with the accommodations, our hosts and the grounds. The coach house was clean, very roomy and included all the appliances required to settle in nicely to our "home away from home". Finola, our hostess, and her family were very friendly and helpful for whatever we needed, including drying our laundry for us - Thank you! The grounds were stunning. Something out of an Irish Fairytale! A nice blend of privacy without feeling isolated. Nicely located with quick access to a number of attractions including Connemara National Park. Kylemore Abbey, The Village of Cong, Galway and every picturesque village and countryside along the way. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Excellent
This was a lovely cottage, in a glorious setting. The kitchen is very modern with everything one could need, but the sitting room , although small, is furnished to reflect the character of the property, and is very comfortable. All the bedrooms are en-suite, and the beds are excellent. Our hostess, Finola, was lovely, very welcoming, and the staff of the main house could not have been nicer. Galway is a lovely area, and we would definitely love to return at a later date.

Heritage Coach House
When we arrived at our destination we were surprised to find that the accommodation did not match the picture that was advertised. As pretty as it first seem from the outside we were extremely disappointed with the Heritage Coach House when the owner showed us inside. It smells musty and all the three Ensuite bedrooms were dirty as though it has not been cleaned since the last occupants. The master ensuite was particularly bad, smelling of dried urine on the wooden floor. We spent an hour bleaching the sinks and shower cubicles, cleaning and sweeping the dirt and fluff off wooden floorings and rugs. We collected all the swept dirt in a paper bag and gave it to the owner Finola. She in turn apologised and commented that her cleaners spend 3 hrs cleaning the cottage before our arrival. A family member tried to have her shower but there was no hot water, apparently the owner forgotten to turn the hot water system on. There were no proper mirrors other than the small ones above the sinks in very dark bathrooms. And there were not enough electrical points for any hairdryers either. Admittedly the kitchen is beautifully fitted but when we tried to use the dishwater it does not work and cooking utensils only consist of one frying pan and one small pot. Next morning my family tried to make breakfast but the toaster set the very sensitive fire alarm on 3 times or more even with all the windows open. When we mentioned to the owner she recommended us a cafe in the village that serves breakfast. What is the pointing of staying in a self-catering accommodation when we can't even make simple toasts for breakfasts!!!

Hübsches Ferienhaus in ländlicher Umgebung

Extraordinary
We stayed at Finolas for a week and had amating days! We did a lot of daytrips and Finola was always there for an advice and her recommendations were super helpful. When my little brother had a problem with his retainer she even help us contact her orthodontist, who was able to help him and that free of charge. The house was tidy and clean and with nice furniture. There is enough space for 6 people and has a big kitchen for the whole family to gather during the evenings. We would highly recommend to stay at this nice cottage at Finolas property! We would be happy to come back sometime.
