Ireland Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

When people speak of Ireland, it often conjures up images of rolling green hills, ancient castles, rowdy but friendly pubs, and leprechauns protecting their pots of gold. While the question of whether leprechauns actually exist remains, the beauty of the Emerald Isle is no fairy tale. Many who visit this beautiful land become enamored by it.

The culture of the people of Ireland has been developing for thousands of years with records going back as far as 6,000 years. Tradition is important to the Irish, including traditional Irish music and dancing. At the heart of every town is the pub. For the Irish, pubs are not just a place to grab a pint, but they are also a place to share and experience the heart of social, cultural, and musical life with others.

The Irish have a reputation for loving to party and to hold celebrations, and this is a stereotype that the Irish embrace. The Kinsale Gourmet Festival and the Dublin Theatre Festival are great events held each year, but the Irish love any good excuse for a party.

    When to Go

When traveling to Ireland, expect rain in the spring and fall. Days during the summer are more often than not comfortably warm without being hot. It is for this reason that summer is peak tourist season on the Emerald Isles and is the most difficult time to get into the hotels in Ireland, so book in advance.

While the weather is at its harshest during the winter, the season is often the time to book a cheap Ireland hotel deal through Expedia and get rooms at special discount rates. During these months, particularly in Dublin, you can find the top prices for cheap hotel deals in Ireland.

Two major events draw a lot of people to Ireland: The St. Patrick's Day Festival takes place on March 17 in Dublin, and a smaller one takes place in Cork, though the entire island celebrates. In October, Cork holds the Cork Folk Festival, and in mid-September, you can experience the Dublin Fringe Festival. When looking for the best Ireland hotel deals and Ireland hotel packages, make reservations early, particularly if you are planning to visit Dublin.

You will find Ireland hotels to be warm, friendly places, and you will love staying in them. You may never want to leave.

    "Close to city centre"
Close to city centre and friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is in need of a bit of tlc and even though our room was on the 3rd floor you could still hear the noise from the bar and the outside smoking area. I'm sure the walkway from lift to room swayed and can only put this down to the vibrations from the music!!!

"Comfy but dated room, clean, tidy hotel. "
We stayed at the radisson for 3 nights, the hotel is beautiful! Wasn't very impressed when checking in, as we went up to the reception desk, there were 3 girls standing together chatting and after looking up when I said hello, none of them made a move to greet us for a few moments until one of them nudged the other to check us in. However the lady on the desk as we checked out was very pleasant. The room was very clean and made up every day, bed was huge and really comfy! Bathroom was clean and great shower but could do with new bath tub.

    "Enjoyed my stay"
If I am in Galway again, I would stay at the Victoria Hotel again. A lot of people might have issue with the decor or the size of the rooms, but neither of those things bother me much. What I was concerned with, however, where things like customer service and the breakfast that was offered. I was not disappointed in either regard.

"Friendly hotel in a very good location"
Stayed for six days in November. Very friendly staff. Hotel is in an excellent location, with shopping, excellent restaurants and bars with traditional music within an easy walk. Helpfulness and friendliness of staff are much appreciated. Nice swimming pool. Had breakfast every morning - good choice available. Found people in Cork very friendly, and much pride taken in the fresh food that restaurants get from the English Market. Hotel has a useful interactive display of what's on in Cork - we went for trad music every evening - always something close at hand. Sorry, Ireland, but for those of us that earn money in sterling, pretty good value due to the strength of the pound against the euro too!

We were here for a funeral and had to stay two nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is that at breakfast there were no separate utensils for the bacon and sausages. I have coeliac disease disease so my food was cross contaminated . However I really appreciated the gluten free toast! I will definitely stay again
