I didn’t feel safe at night. Parking was very limited. The pillows on the bed were square pilllows. Breakfast stopped after 7:30am instead of being served until 9am. The bath tub stopper and even the replacement didn’t work. Property was loud and noisy

Wonderful kind staff
Wonderful and friendly staff! Bed comfy and dark room. Didn’t like fire alarm detectors beeping during the night, but the service of Melissa and Sue made the whole experience wonderful. We checked out late and Sue kindly warmed up a hot breakfast for us. This kind of service doesn’t happen in larger cities and it was delightful to interact with the staff

The staff was very accommodating and made sure we had all we needed during our stay. They are in the process of updating the property with new paint, carpet and general repairs.

The room smelled. The floors were so nasty I wore shoes at all times. The water backed up while I was taking a shower. It was gross.

This place used to be a Days Inn. We always stay here when traveling to and from South Padre. It’s recently been under new ownership/management. We were really pleased!we usually stay here because we can book a room with a kitchenette which has a full size fridge which is handy for traveling. If the room was missing something they were quick to rectify the situation. We will continue to stay here! Plus there are a couple great restaurants in this small town.

No housekeeping on staff, dirty toilet seat, carpet, and side of chair in room, no water in the pool, door lock wasn’t working due to dead batteries. We had to switch rooms twice. The staff was friendly and accommodating but the rooms need some attention.

Bad stay in Canadian, Texas.
This hotel needs a lot of TLC. The room I was in was dirty. The TV service was gone. Shower head was loose and floor tiles in bathroom were loose and some broke. The check in clerk maybe said 10 words on check in and none when I checked out. The evening shift needed more training. I did not even try the breakfast. I do not recommend this place to anyone or their dogs.

There was a smoke detector in hallway that needed a new battery. The desk clerk knew but would not change it. Instead I had to listen to it beep ALL NIGHT LONG!

Decent enuf
Breakfast was subpar but the Room had a kitchenette and a hide a bed couch and that was nice, but it could have been a little bigger everything was quite crowded. Room smelled musty and I had to get my own cleaning supplies out and clean the toilet and bathroom as the floor was dirty and never mopped, and the toilet had mold growing in it and ran all the time.

Rooms are not clean
This is the third time I have arrived and the room was dirty. They switched me rooms right away and apologized. The manager is great she just can’t get any good help. I feel for them but I travel a lot for work and spend a lot of money here so I feel having a clean room is very basic. I will likely be staying at the Best Western from now on.

First of all, there aren't too many hotels to chose in this town. The rooms smell dirty, room #117 toilet had brown stains from not being cleaned, AC was out of service. The carpet was dingy, there was mold growing in the air conditioner vents of room #120. Management try convincing me the mold I was complaining of, was just debris from the outside. But, I could clearly see it was mold growth. I left the hotel around 10am and before walking out for breakfast. I asked the housekeeper, who was eating her breakfast at the front desk, to clean out my vents and air filter, she said she definitely would, and she'd get a toothbrush and scrub the mold out if she had too. When I got back at 1:30pm, my room was still uncleaned. I left the AC off and I could instantly feel the high humidity level in the room, which might hence the mold growth. I left the hotel again for another hour, and as I was leaving a pick truck stopped in the driveway and when I got back at 3pm, the same truck was in the driveway. We walked in and saw the assistant manager and the housekeeper sitting at a table chatting away with the people from the truck. The housekeeper looked at me and started walking with her cleaning cart towards my room. But, by then I had already made up my mind to cancel my room. I am extremely unhappy with the assistant manager's services and her daughter's housekeeping negli gence to my room service request, and the rest of the hotel's upkeep. It would have been nice to know there was no elevator before booking. They gave us the room upstairs at the very end of this hallway. If I only had to go up and down a few times during our stay with our small children, that would have been fine. We had to go up and down 5 times in a row because our keys did not work. This was on a day that it was 106 degrees outside and we were sweating due to the lack of air conditioning in the building! After all that, I was told that the batteries on the door lock need to be replaced and maintenance would be there in an hour. Staff refused to give me a different room and finally let me in with a master key. Maintenance NEVER came to fix this door. My husband arrived in the middle of the night and staff let him in our room while we were sleeping. He didn’t have to show and identification and a call was not made to our room before opening the door. Very unprofessional!!!

The furniture needs updated all around from lobby chairs to the beds. It was obvious the staff cleaned as much as possible, but the carpet is wrinkled from being worn out and it's sticky. The staff was nice. I still rested as much as I could.

The location was very quiet, with a lovely walking park across the street. The rooms were large and very comfortable, with a small kitchenette area in each room. Everything smelled clean and fresh. Our bathroom floor could have been cleaner, and in one room the coffee supplies were not arranged. Breakfast choices were minimal but sufficient. The coffee had been standing for quite a while and a fresh pot would have been lovely. Except for these minor items, we had an enjoyable and restful stay.

Please tell the truth!!
I wish people would be honest when reviewing a property. We booked this hotel because it had very good reviews. The staff was great and very kind and helpful and the place was very clean, especially with what they have to work with. This is an old hotel and in need of repairs. The light over the sink did not work in the bathroom and we had to use the small light on the exhaust fan, which was very noisy!! There was a huge crack/gap above the shower insert and the caulking needed replaced on the floor at the base of the tub. The tile grout is in need of some serious scrubbing. The carpet had a big hole in it just inside the door and there were spots that needed cleaned. The bed was old and had the old springs so it was very uncomfortable and the refrigerator in the room was very noisy!! The young lady at the front desk was clearly embarrassed when she had to tell us the pool and hot tub were not working!! It is unfortunate because it is obvious that the staff is doing their best to keep things clean and keep a good attitude despite the condition of the facility.
