The Point, set betw 2 shores, 2 docks, sunrise/set views, sand beach &15 acres

Nestled at the tip of a long forested peninsula between Kitchi Lake and its bay, The Point offers the storied Minnesota lakehouse experience and all the family memories that come with it.

This cozy and secluded cabin is just steps from the lake and a 150 foot sand beach with docks on each shore. Its east and west facing windows offer breathtaking views of sunrises and sunsets and local wildlife, including bald eagles (which nest nearby) blue herons, swans, deer, beaver and otter. Turtle River, Kitchi and the two nearby Rice Lakes also offer spectacular scenery, and great fishing, including walleye, northerns, panfish, bass and the occasional muskie. Kitchi Lake is also part of the eight lake chain anchored by Cass Lake (a ten minute boat ride to the south) which is a favorite with muskie fishermen. We offer an Old Town canoe and kayak with the property.

The house sleeps six, has three bedrooms, two with queen size and one with single beds and two full bathrooms The single floor, open concept layout, and single step rear entrance allow for easy access by seniors. Windows and ceiling fans transmit the steady lake breezes throughout the house.

Amenities include washer and dryer, coffee maker, coffee press, rice cooker and crock pot, gas grill, fire pit, dishwasher, high speed satellite internet. and Dish TV. We also provide a wide screen TV in the living room and a standard set in the master bedroom. We furnish linens and towels, and dishes, flatware and pots and pans.
.
Our dock can handle large boats and pontoons, and if you bring your own boat with a rollaway or bunk trailer, you can launch it at the beach. If not, use a boat landing about a mile away. You can also rent boats locally.

With only one other house about a quarter of a mile south on the peninsula, and above that completely undeveloped Federal land to the main road, The Point offers a measure of seclusion in nature that is truly unique while its proximity to Bemidji provides quick access to necessities.

Guests should be aware that we have a no pet policy.

* If your party much larger than seven, consider also booking our companion property, a quarter mile up the road (listing number 596613) which handles 7, or combined, around 13. Renting the two properties is also the solution for groups who want a shared vacation experience while maintaining separate family accommodations.

Amazing week at this quiet cabin
We had an amazing week at the point on Kitchi Lake. The cabin is very private (besides people fishing around the point) and secluded. The road/driveway to the cabin is very long, and twisty, making it a little nerve-wracking with a boat and trailer. But, we managed just fine. Lots of wildlife viewing and space in the yard for our 5 year old to run and play. He enjoyed the sandy beach and shallow entry to the lake, and also caught his first fish off the dock. The cabin was very spacious for the 4 of us, and we enjoyed the lake views from every room. We will definitely be back again!

Secluded, Private, Fabulous
Overall, we were so pleased with this property and our stay. No complaints here. It's a spacious, up to date, convenient home, and we were never cramped or crowded. The cross-breeze was divine, coming from both sides of the lake. We spent alot of time on the water, either in our boat or in kayaks. I took a zillion photos- it was a lovely spot to practice my dragonfly and squirrel photos. I saw the biggest snapping turtle I've ever seen, swimming out past the weeds. We caught some nice perch, a walleye, and a huge bass. Fish fry night was excellent! We usually only rent cottages once- we like to explore and rent something different every year, but we'd totally consider renting this one again!

This property is unique in having a 1.5 mile private driveway through the woods to the end of the peninsula of land with water all around. It has a nice dock and plenty of parking area for a boat and trailer. House is open and kitchen area as well. It is well maintained, clean and the beds comfortable. The owner is prompt with communication and gives useful, detailed information about the property regarding your stay. A very nice place for those who love to be away from the crowd.

Beautiful house surrounded by the lake.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The fact that it's on a peninsula gives you access to the water on both sides. Kitchi Lake also has a channel that leads into Cass Lake if you have a boat. The place to launch a boat on the property is definitely not meant for a larger boat, but you can launch one at the Pike Hole Resort just down the road. The house is very nice and has all the modern amenities. It is not mentioned in the VRBO listing, but the owner has a strict no pet policy and does not allow campers or tents on the property. We were fortunate enough to get beautiful weather our entire stay. It was very quiet with lots of stars at night. We definitely enjoyed the time spent here.
