Cottage - Charming Main Farm House.

The Property is located in the village of Chalabre. Located in the foothills of the Pyrenees and in the heart of the Cathar country, the charming village 'Bastide' of Chalabre has preserved its medieval origins, and is a 12-minute walk from Le Bourdil with post office, shops, doctors ... Lac de Montbel 2 km through the forest.

The two spacious and comfortable holiday apartments (Aragou 100 m2 and Tivoli 40 m2) with a modern kitchen and shower rooms are located on the first floor with an independent entrance. The view is clear, overlooking the surrounding countryside. Aragou offers spacious volumes and views.

The heated swimming pool (11 x 5m), sun loungers, parasols, barbecue and shaded terrace are at your disposal as well as pétanque balls, two ping-pong tables, bikes (mountain bikes) and kayaks for Lake Montbel.
Lake Montbel is 4 km away and is easily accessible by car (2 km on foot). The exceptional site of Lac de Montbel and its vast area (570 hectares) are assets for aquatic relaxation, water sports (kayaking, pedalos), family or sports hiking, fishing, bird watching or mountain biking around the lake, restaurant , bar and children's games.

The city of Carcassonne is 40 km away (Sud France airport + Ryanair + car rental)

Great location, fantastic views and a nice pool
We enjoyed our stay in this very nice location with ability to swim in almost private pool. The host (man) is very friendly and easy going. The facilities itself are okay but seem to lack a bit of TLC. This smaller of the two appartments is of decent size and enough for two adults and with foldable bed enough for a child (up to 12 years old). The facilities of the appartement itself are very basic; it has a kitchen with oven/micro and small table, a sitting area with an old/small TV set, a bedroom with a small double bad with an old lousy mattress. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and shower. The water in the shower is hot but barely runs and still manages to get everything wet in the batroomfloor. All in all it was a nice holiday week, mainly because of the pool, the view and surrounding area. With regard to the appartment and facilities; please give it some TLC and some minor upgrades.....
