Annual Men’s Golf Trip
The house more than met our needs. Plenty of plates, glasses and utensils for 14 people. Pots and pans were sufficient to meet our cooking needs. Management did a great job of communicating and getting passes into the subdivision. They have a great customer service.

Great house for a large group
The house was great, plenty of room for everyone. Host was responsive and provided plenty of information up front, prior to our arrival. The amenities were terrific. Free shuttle to the clubhouse was super convenient and arrived quickly every time. I would recommend providing every guests name for access, regardless of whether they are driving a car or not. Otherwise, it was a great house.

We had our entire family with us. All our children, there spouses and grandchildren. The property was excellent for our family. The kids loved the pool and the club house. Overall, we were very pleased with the property. A five star experience. A couple things would make it perfect. The internet was spotty most of the time. When it worked it was very slow. It made doing work almost impossible. Garbage service could be improved. When you have 25 people you generate a lot of trash. It was very inconvenient to be constantly taking trash to the dumpster at the club house. I still rate our experience a five star because of being able to enjoy our family so much. Thanks for a wonderful time.

We enjoyed this house so much! We had 30 people of all ages and everyone had room. The pool was great, there was plenty of seating inside and out and the bathrooms were all in good working condition. The only thing that could have been better was the kitchen stove. We brought plenty of garbage bags, toilet paper, etc. so we didn't run out of anything. The Oasis was wonderful! We would definitely come again.

We had a large group and the house was very comfortable. Overall it was a great home. It was difficult getting into the resort in the evening due to long lines, stove was old n didn’t heat well and the refrigerator should of been bigger for such a big house.

This was a great place to stay with our large family of 22. We had plenty of sleep area, eating area and overall a great place to stay. Some perks that we really liked; heated pool and spa that was included in the price, maintenance was great when needed, TVs in every bedroom, daily garbage pick up and plenty of space. Andrew was very quick on response on any questions or maintenance issues. Would stay here again.

We had a great trip to Florida and enjoyed our stay at Champions Gate. The house was close to Disney and Sea World and about an hour from the beach. There was some road construction on I-4 which caused some delay for us on some days. The house was clean and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The Oasis area was also a nice addition. The owner was very quick to respond to all of our questions/concerns. The only thing that I noticed was that there were not as many amenities available, or minimal quantities available, and I have not had this experience at other VRBOs that I have stayed at. We ended up having to purchase plastic forks since there was not much silverware in the kitchen. Also, since they require all food to be disposed of prior to leaving, so even basic spices such as salt and pepper were not available. The kitchen supplies (pots, utensils, etc.) could use some updating, but there were some available. There was also 1 bath towel per person and a few beach towels, so we did need to do laundry daily in order to keep up. Overall this was a great place to stay!

We had a large group of 28 people. Plenty of room. Loved that all the boys and all the girls could stay together in the multi kid bedrooms. Loved the Champion Gate neighborhood. Loved the Oasis Club. Location was great, pertaining to all the parks. Easy check in process. Just a couple small heads up to other renters of this property, not a washcloth or dish cloth in the house. Also, not enough spoons, so we bought plasticware.

Excellent place for a large group of people
We had a great experience at this property. We were close to 30 people including kids of different ages ranging from 3 to 17. There was plenty of space for everyone. Sleeping arrangements worked great for us with many kids sleeping together in the rooms with bunk beds. The pool was great to spend the hot afternoons of Florida. We went to the club house and used the resort style pool which was great too. Supermarkets and stores are very close to the house and we also used instacart to get things delivered to us without problems. Check-in was very smooth. Neighborhood is very quiet. Game room in the garage was great for both adults and kids. Would definitely recommend for anyone trying to get a large group together in the Orlando area.

Week long stay
We stayed from Saturday to Saturday and it all went smoothly. The grill we rented was not there but after notifying Andrew he let me know that it was on it's way as they were running behind schedule. The door upstairs to Jack n Jill restroom was not locking, and the Keurig was missing the cover, notified Andrew and he promptly came and fixed door and said he would get another cover. The house was spacious for all 21 of us and we had 2 whole rooms empty. Pool and hot tub were great after a long day at the parks. The gameroom was also very handy as we would make the kids get out of the pool once quiet time started. Our only complaints would be: 1. The master shower downstairs looked like it had been repaired and when you stood on it, it felt like you would sink in and it would break or crack. This stressed me outmore than my husband. 2. The restrooms smelled moldy when water was turned on for us to shower, my Mom said they needed a good cleaning and that was why they smelled the way the did. It wasn't bad enough for me to call on though. 3. The pans available for cooking were not in the greatest shape, there is no cookie sheets or pizza pans. We improvised with what was available and bought a pizza pan since all the kids wanted on our 3 off days were pizza and nuggets. We used the clubhouse and we ate there as well for their Friday fish fry. Beware of the alcoholic drinks at the Clubhouse, saw a guy order three drinks of Crown with Red Bull and his bill was $56!!! He had a $20 out ready to pay and he was shocked when they told him his total. There are no prices on drinks just food so ask price before you order!! This house exceeded our expectations and is definitely one of the top houses we have stayed at. We would stay here again if we had the chance.

Tired villa with loads of rules!
Firstly, I must say the agents communication was excellent. We rented 3 villas used during our trip and this was the most efficient agent. Championsgate as a 'resort' was ideal for us and a reasonable distance from Disney, ESPN and local restaurants. Of the 3 villas we hired this one was tired and needs updating., and watch out for the rules. As an example you are expected to wash and dry every towel in the villa before you leave. Quite a task in a top loader at 5am in the morning. Clearly we failed as we were charged over $150 for soiled towels. A few other observations that were passed on the the agent include: No where near enough cutlery to service 28, let alone 34 people. Not enough cups or glasses to serve 28, let alone 34 people. No baking trays. A two slice toaster to serve 34 people? Oven control panel unreadable. Oven shelves filthy and covered in burnt food. Need replacing. Towels have seen better days. Pool table unusable. Pockets fall off every time a ball is potted. In fact the games room is very poor. Did we have a good time on Florida? yes indeed. Would we rent this villa again? No. There are better villas for a similar price. We stayed in two during this visit with no rules and everything working fine.

Carpet could use a really good cleaning, there were no washcloths anywhere in the unit and while we are aware of palmetto bugs in FL there were also small roaches we had to deal with. Our family has someone turning 70,60,50,40, and two 10’s. We needed a giant place for 31 people. Champions Gate was beyond excellent. A gated community of large beautiful homes. Ours had nine bedrooms of which five were kings. Multi beds in two rooms created for kids. The pool and Club Oasis are all anyone could ever ask for. The house was carefree and equipped with everything we could need or want. The owner responded to any questions quickly. We rented the grill and truly enjoyed our vacation. All of my family is sooo looking forward to doing it again.

Spring Break and Surprise Proposal Family Vacation
The house was beautiful and provided lots of space for everyone. Our family members' ages ranged from 4-87, and everyone enjoyed themselves and their own individual space! The pool and the hot tub were a big hit for the adults as well as the kids! ANDREW EVEN OFFERS FREE HEAT FOR THE HOT TUB.......DEFINITELY A PLUS!! The ONLY reason that I gave a 4 for cleanliness is not because the home wasnt clean, but because after checking in, we noticed a few pests (roaches) near the bar area, BUT once I emailed Andrew, he promptly sent someone to help eradicate the problem who were very nice and apologetic! We will definitely be renting again from Andrew!! Thank you again.......we will definitely be back again !!!

1st time booking just 1 home for our family vacation. We have been to the Orlando area many times but would rent multiple homes for our family, this year I wanted all of us in the same home. After researching many properties we finally agreed on this retreat home. We couldn’t have made a better choice. Andrew was great replying to my emails promptly. The home was as expected. We enjoyed all the amenities offered at the resort. Kids couldn’t wait to leave the theme parks each day so that they could enjoy the pool. We will definitely come back and if we can’t agree on just booking one home or if more family memebers decide to join us and there is a newd for multiple homes I will reach out to Andrew in hopes that he can help with accommodations 😁

"Read your contract"
The negative first. The kitchen had an infestation of cockroaches. Kill 16 on the first day in the kitchen. Call the property manager. The owner said they laid traps and sprayed. Woke up the next morning and had cockroaches in our food and had to it throw away! We called and complained again and the home repair guy showed up with a consumer-grade pump insect sprayed again. We told the guy the cockroaches were around the refrigerator and he sprayed around it and throughout the kitchen. Then we had dozens crawling across the floor, counters, up the walls and across the ceiling. GROSS AND A HEALTH HAZZARD. When ask for some sort of compensation the owner immediately referred us to the contract that stated bugs were common. My son, a former county health inspector said he would have shut the place down. Our options to find another location were zero as it was Christmas week. They offered to spray a 3rd time, but we didn't want to be exposed to three days of pesticides. The owner never called simply responded with text - Read your Contract. The contract states "However due to Florida experiencing a subtropical warm and humid climate, ingress of incest, bugs, and pest can occur". This means bugs and insects are driving into the home looking for shelter, not an infestation in the kitchen. (I live in Houston, humid and hot and we spray and have not insects in our home) Also poor on the cleanliness because of the mold in the showers and bathrooms. Amazing was a shot of Lysol will do! If you have a party of more than five, be sure to bring your own pool towels. property owner provided 5, yet the home is designed to accommodate 30+ The contract states that trash would be picked up every day. Two days were missed. The space provided to place your trash is not sufficient for a home with 30 people in it. VRBO was of NO assistance. We will not rent from this property provider on our next trip. The property is in a nice location and a reasonable distance from all of the Disney parks.

Thank you Lars for taking the time to submit a review of your stay at the Southern Retreat (1515668). I am sorry to read that you experienced a problem with the ingress of roaches. We attended the home on 3 separate occasions to investigate and did not see any evidence of roaches. However, on two of the three occasions, additional treatments and traps were applied. All our homes are subjected to a rigorous periodic pest control program. As stated in our terms and conditions of rental, ingress of insects, bugs and pests can occur (due to central Florida’s sub-tropical climate). Guests are also expected to take adequate precautions to minimize the ingress of unwanted pests including, keeping doors and windows closed; not leaving clothes and other belongings on the floor and most importantly, not leaving exposed foodstuffs anywhere in the home. If we do a mid-stay treatment as a precaution, we do not use a commercial grade treatment as that could be hazardous to the health of the resident guest. Again, I am sorry if this compromised your stay. With respect to trash, the trash collection is managed by the resort. We have no control over collections. Over the holiday period, I was made aware that all the onsite dumpsters and compactors became full. The net result was no trash pickup until they were emptied by the resort’s waste disposal contractor. With respect to beach towels, one is provided per lounger. Again, this is stated within our terms and conditions of rental. Thank you again for choosing the Southern Retreat with VRBO.

Great property, large rooms close to grocery shopping. Clubhouse access was phenomenal with lazy river which my children enjoyed. The only downside was there are a couple of rooms that get very hot. The box fans in the closets helped a great deal.

This was our third year at Champions Gate and my second time renting through Andrew. He is very prompt with his communication and gets any issues resolved immediately. The house was as described and accommodated my large family. I was taken back at the charge list for item, I understand the need to do this but the expectation of white not retaining stains and being charged for that was a bit much. Also having to laundry the towels and such (why are we charged a cleaning fee if we do all the work) before departure means that you must shower the night before and not make any sort of mess before you exit at checkout at 10. This is extremely difficult for large family gatherings with small children. The check in process was a nightmare I completed all the required paperwork but security said that management did not submit correctly which delayed us for an hour at the gate. Overall it was an enjoyable event.

We are one of the few managers that register guests and send out QR codes for easy access to the ChampionsGate Retreat Resort. QR codes were sent to you the night before your arrival; hence you should have been able to pass through the right-hand lane directly into the Resort (without having to check in at security first). The policy for towels is that we just ask you to launder as you go along (as the home is self-managing and there is no daily maid service). With respect to charges, I do not quite understand your point concerning a ‘charge list’. No charges were made against your security deposit. We appreciate you taking good care of the home and are pleased that you chose to vacation with us a second time. Thanks again for choosing the Southern Retreat (1515668) with Vrbo.
