Our apartment is a modern 2-bedroom residence in Kalamaki just 20 meters from the beach. It comfortably fits 4 people, has a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom and a lovely balcony where you can enjoy the sea view!
The fully air-conditioned house is ideally located just 20 meters away from the beach and 5 kms from the city centre of Chania. It is the perfect starting point for excursions, as it is conveniently positioned on the coastal road leading out of town to the many top destinations of Western Crete. You will find a cosy living room with satellite TV, a dvd player and a mini HiFi, 2 relaxing bedrooms with extra-comfortable double beds and sea view, a spacious bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen (dish washer, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettler, iron), a washing machine and a wired and wireless internet connection to stay in touch with the world. The apartment also has just been redecorated and has a brand new bathroom remodel.
You will find a grocery store, bakery, mini-market and butcher on the main road right near the house. Greek traditional restaurants are also located a few minutes away from my apartment. You can walk seaside to a wonderful park and enjoy the sunset. There is bus service every 20 minutes and the bus stop is just a few meters away from the house.
A map of the area is provided, a baby cot and a baby chair upon request. I can also arrange car rental and optional pickup from the airport.
Fresh linen and towels, beach towels as well as a welcome basket are waiting for you upon arrival.

Holiday as it should be.
Holidays are for relaxing and that's what we were able to do in this lovely apartment. Incredibly clean, conveniently located - right across access to the sandy beach. It's within walking distance to local restaurants, and shops, local bus services, and car rentals. I did not have the pleasure of meeting our host, Maria, as she was on a well earned holiday of her own, but we were very well looked after by her friend, Elvira. We arrived late at night, but Elvira was there to meet us, show us where everything was and how it all worked. A delicious meal was waiting for us (very welcome), and a lovely welcome basket of fruit, wine, Raki, local tea and honey. I am comfortable giving a 5 star rating and confident that the next people to book this lovely apartment will enjoy it as much as we did.

Amazing stay!
Maria was a fantastic host from start to finish of our trip. She was very accommodating and made us aware of all there was to offer around the area. The apartment was fully equipped with all we needed and enjoyed by myself, partner and daughter. The home cooked meal made by Maria's mum was delicious and made our arrival easier with then looking for food. I would definitely recommend to stay in Iris. Thank you again for everything.

Maria’s apartment is lovely and the location is excellent. Upon arrival, she left us a beautiful array of gifts of wine, fruit, snacks, and Greek specialties. Her mother cooked us a homemade meal that was not only delicious, but perfect after a very long travel day! The apartment is located across the street from the beach, a short walk from the bus pick up, and within walking distances of MANY wonderful restaurants. It is also next door to a travel agency which was extremely helpful in booking an excursion to Balos Lagoon and Gramvousa Island. We would highly recommend this property and definitely go back. Maria was an amazing host from start to finish. She was always quick to respond to my many questions before and during my stay, which included questions about transportation, local markets, places to visit and more. She arranged a taxi from the airport for me, as well as a personal greeter to check me in to the villa. Upon arrival to the villa, I found a delicious welcome basket of wine, fruit and dinner, much appreciated after a long day of travel from the States. As well, I came down with a cold in Greece, and when Maria heard this, she sent homemade meals to help aid in my recovery! I spent several days sick on the comfortable sofa watching Netflix on the smart tv, and enjoyed the view of the sea each morning and evening from the balcony. With two markets in walking distance and a fully-equipped kitchen, I was able to prepare meals every day as needed. I also packed light because I could do my own laundry in the washing machine in the villa! To find things to do on the island, I followed Maria’s recommendations in her carefully-prepared booklet, seeing the sights of Old Town Chania, Paleochora, Reythemno and more. I also went to Maria’s recommended restaurants. She has great taste!! Walks on the beach just steps from the villa were perfect too. Maria and her beautiful villa made my first trip to Crete a perfect one I will not ever forget! 🇬🇷💖

Summer holiday
As a family with a 5 year old this property was ideally situated. A minute from the beach, if that. Supermarkets and restaurants close by and a regular bus service five minutes from the property was useful as we did not hire a car. The property itself is great. It had everything we needed plus extra little touches provided by Maria and her family. Maria is extremely easy to communicate with and responded efficiently to any queries we had from the beginning of the booking process all the way through. She arranged the airport transfer for us too. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return. Thank you!

Best appartment I have stayed in. Nothing was needed, so no trip to find a supermarket. In fact, the basket of goodies was much appreciated. Maria was amazing to deal with. We loved this apartment! It was really well equipped and very clean. Maria was a very considerate host, there was a meal waiting for us on the day we arrived as well as wine, fruit and coffee. She arranged for us to be collected from the airport and for a taxi to take us back at the end of our stay. We hired a car and it was useful to be able to park on the road opposite the apartment. Only a couple of minutes drive to the supermarket. Right by the bus stop to get to Chania too. All in all a great place to stay.

The apartment is nicely detailed and was stocked with all sorts of nice welcome gifts such as fruits, waters and local refreshments. This home has obviously been renovated recently and is a very nice space to stay in. We found it to be very accessible using the city buses and there is free parking available if needed. We plan to return to Crete and this apartment will be high on our list to consider if we stay in the Chania area.

Fabulous apartment and wonderful host
The apartment is spacious and beautifully decorated, it does look just like the pictures. Good quality linen and towels and plenty of them. Fully equipped kitchen if you want to self cater. Situated in a quiet block, next to the road but we werent bothered by traffic noise. 2 minutes walk to lovely Kalamaki beach bar with free sunbeds, lovely sandy beach and sheltered , shallow bay for swimming. Walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets with a bus stop close by for a short ride into Chania town. Maria is a wonderful host. There was a lovely home cooked dinner, fresh fruit and cretan goodies for us on our arrival. Taxi transfers arranged for us. Lots of info about places to visit and manuals for all the appliances.Just made our holiday stress free. For solo travellers you will feel safe here. Would recommend for a relaxing holiday. Perfect location and amazing hospitality!
I stayed for a little over 3 weeks and this is a great location. It is close to Chania but let's you get a bit outside of the busy city. You can reach Chania on a quick bus ride - or a long walk along the beaches (you'll have lots of great views!). Maria is a great host - very responsive to questions and I can't say enough about all of the great meals! Her mom's stuffed vegetables were the best I had! I am looking forward to another trip!

Wonderful Stay!
Maria is the most generous host we could imagine! When we arrived there was a "big" basket of regional goodies. . . including wine, fruit, cookies, tea etc. In the fridge there was a delicious dinner of a beef and bean stew cooked by her mother. In small kitchen there was coffee, sugar and some herbs/spices, etc. Everything in the apartment was "sparkling" clean! This is a "new" or "newly refurbished" building. . . very modern, with fast internet and beautiful decor. The bed in the master is comfortable,and there is plenty of closet space. The bedrooms are relatively large, for the total space, and the living room, dining area, kitchen and bathroom are small. It would not be very comfortable for more than 2 or 3 people, as the dining space is only for 3. The shower is tiny and is made for sitting down in the small tub. Currently there is not a place to put the shower head "overhead". I have suggested to Maria that this should be improved. There is a lovely sea view from the terrace, but there is a very busy road in front of the building. . . not a safe place for young children to play. Bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, because the road noise continues until about 2:00 AM. The neighbors smoke on their nearby terrace, and they can be noisy as well. This location is in a charming smaller village. . . which is much better than the larger, much more congested towns nearby. The local beach is a 1 minute walk and is wonderful and beautiful! Great restaurants are within a 5 minute walk and shopping is also very convenient. This "region" of Crete is quite beautiful . . . as photographers, we found the scenery to be fantastic! Renting from Maria is perfect! She has a few places. If you desire a "quiet" place for 4 or more, you may want to ask Maria for a different apartment. You cannot have a better host than Maria!

Wohnung Ok aber an Hauptstraße und daher sehr lsut
Die Wohnung war sauber und Maria war ein sehr guter Host. Bei Problemen war sie sofort ansprechbar und ist auch bei Problemen mit dem Fernseher zu uns gekommen und hat versucht, das Problem zu lösen. Es gab ein Welcome-Paket mit griechischen Spezialitäten für uns, als wir in der Wohnung ankamen. Einmal hat Maria uns einen griechischen Auflauf vorbeigebracht, den ihre Mutter für gekocht hat. Das waren sehr nette Aufmerksamkeiten, die nicht selbstverständlich sind. Die Wohnung war sauber, die beiden Schlafzimmer sehr schön. Allerdings hat die Wohnung kein richtiges Wohnzimmer sondern man sitzt eher in der großen Diele, die sich zur Küche hin öffnet . Die Küche ist ganz gut ausgestattet, aber sehr klein. Für 2 Erwachsene ist die Wohnung ausreichend aber für 4 Erwachsene ist sie meiner Meinung nach zu klein und zu eng. Auch das Badezimmer ist meiner Meinung nicht für mehr als 2 Personen geeignet, da es einfach zu klein ist. Die Couch im "Wohnzimmer" ist so platziert, dass man nicht gerade auf den Fernseher gucken kann. Anders lässt sich die Couch aber aufgrund der Raumgröße nicht stellen. Die Couch bietet Platz für 3 Personen allerdings sitzt man dann sehr beengt Die 4. Person müsste dann auf einem Stuhl Platz nehmen. Der Balkon war für uns nicht nutzbar, da er zu der Hauptstraße rausgeht, die sehr stark befahren ist. Man musste sich, wenn man miteinander sprechen wollte regelrecht anbrüllen. Schlafen ging nur bei geschlossenen Fenstern und mit Ohrstöpseln. Die Lage der Wohnung ist gut. Ein sehr schöner Strand liegt auf der gegenüber liegenden Straßenseite ca. 3 Gehminuten entfernt. Gute Restaurants sind in unmittelbarer Nähe zu finden. Chania ist recht nah und eine wunderschöne Stadt. Maria ist eine gute Gastgeberin. Wer allerdings Ruhe sucht, ist mit dieser Wohnung nicht gut beraten.

The apartment Iris is really nice , clean and comfortable , specially the rooms are very well decorated. The kitchen is new and you find all cookware that you need and more. Sehr gute Kommunikation mit Maria. Der Aufenthalt war sehr schön und Maria hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Reichlich Parkplätze die Straße Gegenüber. Nähe zum Strand. Straße etwas laut, aber die Wellengeräuschen dämpfen die Lautstärke.

Wir waren durch die Rezensionen die wir vor der Buchung gelesen haben schon sehr überzeugt diese Wohnung zu mieten (2 Wochen). Und waren doch überrascht wie schön, liebevoll und gut die Wohnung ausgestattet ist. Wir hatten die Wohnung Iris und alle Beschreibungen und Bilder des Vermieter haben mit der Realität übereingestimmt und waren auch aktuell. Maria spricht sehr gut englisch und war flexibel und pünktlich bei der Übergabe. Auch wir haben bei Ankunft ein leckeres Mittagessen zum Aufwärmen bekommen. Die Betten sind sehr gemütlich. Wir können uns auf jeden Fall auch vorstellen zu 4. hier zu wohnen. Das Bad war ausreichend, für mich etwas zu klein. Es fehlten mir eine Ablage/Regal um die Badutensilien zu verstauen. Das Meeresrauschen war immer gegenwärtig. Das die Wohnung an einer gut befahrenen Straße liegt hatte uns nur an den ersten beiden Tagen beim Schlafen etwas gestört. Für diese wundervolle und sehr saubere Wohnung geben wir sehr gerne 5 Sterne. Vielen Dank für den herzlichen Empfang und den sehr netten Kontakt mit Maria. Sonnige Grüße aus Deutschland.

Wir sind rundum zufrieden!
Wir haben uns für 3 Wochen bei Maria einquartiert und waren mit allem rundum zufrieden. Das Apartment liegt sehr günstig, direkt gegenüber dem Strand, nur durch die Ortsstraße getrennt (die jedoch sehr befahren ist, aber kein Problem: Fußgängerampel!). Die Wohnung ist nicht nur sehr geschmackvoll ausgestattet, sondern über verfügt alles, was wir uns im Urlaub wünschen: funktionierendes WLAN, eine Waschmaschine, Geschirrspüler, Steinfußboden, eine gut ausgestattete Küche. Maria ist sehr freundlich, sympathisch und hilfsbereit. Kurz: der perfekte Urlaubsort. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! Summary: We had nothing to complain about and were very satisfied with everything. The apartment is well equipped and tastefully decorated. Maria is very friendly, sympathetic and helpful! In short: the perfect holiday destination. We would like to come again!
