Perfect Anniversary Getaway
This was the perfect spot for our anniversary vacation! Outside the chaos of the city but not so far that we felt like we couldn't bop back and forth. We had pretty busy days planned so were really only here for sleeping but it was nice to know we had a safe place to leave our things while we were gone! Owners are right on site and the absolute sweetest! Diane was wonderful to work with and answered all my questions, even the ones that were probably annoying! 🙃

Great location and functional.
Very pleased with the stay, great location, BUT the listing “oversells” a bit. This is not a one bedroom - it’s a studio - and the only way 6 people could sleep comfortably is if 2 would sleep in the car. I would not recommend more than 4. The queen bed seems a little small - so may not be comfortable for larger people. The kitchen had all the appliances, but it’s a small refrigerator, limited on the dishes, and it’s not really stocked with anything (bring your own olive oil, spices, functional knives, regular size cutting board, pans, wine glasses, etc). There is zero insulation - so the highway noise could be disturbing to light sleepers. Window AC is needed during the day and blankets at night. Bathroom is clean and good water pressure - but don’t forget your toiletries and it’s pretty tiny so just be aware that the supposedly 6 people will not have any room to store anything. Don’t read this as negative - we had a lovely time and recommend if y’all know what to expect and how to pack accordingly.

Emily - first let me say that we appreciate your review - we did not realize that tucked away in an obscure spot on the VRBO website was the note that it accommodated 6. I have corrected it to 4 and thank you for pointing that out. Other than that, your review was not really accurate. All units are well stocked with oil, salt, pepper, garlic salt and onion salt. We also stock coffee, tea, filters, shower gel and shampoo. There are plenty of pots, pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, cutting boards, microwave, blender, hand mixer, hair dryer, high quality bedding and towels, wifi, DVD players and an assortment of DVD's. I don't think you will find any hotel or motel in town that provides all of this. You are right about the wine glasses, we don't provide them. The owners are very dedicated to making this a pleasant experience for everyone. They even bake fresh cookies to pass out upon arrival! Please keep your reviews to facts and maybe try focusing on all the good instead of what you perceived as lacking.

Beautiful spot on Lake Huron
This was a nice, small apartment where my daughter, sister and I stayed. Took me one night to get used to the road noise but we all slept very well. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Even brought us cookies when we arrived! We enjoyed the area very much and our stay here. Room had one queen bed and a queen futon.

This place is very nice. A few yards down from where we stayed is a beautiful view of Lake Huron, a wooden swing for enjoying the views, picnic table and a firepit. A wooded area surrounds as well. Deb and Bob were very accommodating, and we thoroughly enjoyed the homemade chocolate chip cookies they provided us on arrival....nice touch.

Girls Trip - Perfect!
We stayed on our 2nd annual sisters trip (4 adults) and loved the stay! Even though we ran out of time to use it we loved that there was a fire pit down by the water! It did get warm enough (marginally) to swim so it was super nice to have our own private access to the water without having to go anywhere. Thanks for everything!

We had a great time staying here. The boys loved running down to the beach, jumping the waves and looking for rocks. I would consider it more of a studio than 1 bedroom as there wasn’t a door to the bedroom but the unit still worked great for our family! Would definitely come back here!

This rental was AWESOME!! So clean and with all the amenities needed for a worry free stay. Lem’s 2 was a remarkable rental and looking forward to renting again if we decide to go “Up North” for a future vacation. Having the owner on the premise was a bonus. Deb and her husband met us upon our arrival and even gave us some homemade chocolate chip cookies! (My personal favorite 😍). We were close to everything we wanted to do. After spending all day sightseeing, going to the Island, etc., it was a pleasure going back to our vacation home and relaxing. Thank you for allowing us to rent this wonderful place! Perfect Weekend Gateway
This little cabin is perfect for a relaxing weekend gateway! It’s perfectly located between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan. We love the views of the lake, Mackinaw Bridge and Mackinaw Island!! We can’t wait to come back.

We loved being right in between Cheboygan and Mackinac City as it allowed us to easily check out both places. We took a day trip to Tahquamenon Falls and had a great time. Our other day we just enjoyed the beach on the property. So private and beautiful with great view of Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac Island. Only downside was being on a busy road, but can't even hear the road from the beach. Hosts were very kind, brought fresh baked cookies upon our arrival. Would stay again!

Cozy place, right in the middle of two towns. Very easy access to The ferry’s. Property is beautiful. Owner is very sweet. We are excited to try the other cabins on the property as well. :) Road noise is a bit loud on the end so if that bothers you check out one of the other units but it wasn't an issue for us. Loved that a fan was provided, as well as so many other little things like hand soap and hand sanitizer, paper towels… We didn’t cook at the property but lots of cooking supplies were there. My kids spent hours playing with the Jenga blocks on a rainy day. Bring lots of mosquito spray as you’ll need it any time your near the water.

This was our first time going to Mackinaw City/Tahquamenon Falls and using VRBO and wow did we score on finding this place. Diane is so sweet to book with and available when I needed to ask any questions. The room was perfect for our family of 5. Exceptionally clean and cozy. We had the entire beach to ourselves and our boys just loved it! We met the cleaning lady on our way out (sorry, can't recall her name) and she was so sweet! We will definitely be saving this rental for our next Mackinaw trip! 🙂

We enjoyed our stay here as we celebrated our Wedding Anniversary. This place has everything you need, and has a comfortable bed. Bob lived on site and was very nice. He showed us where the bike path is across the street. We rode our bikes to Macinaw City on the beautiful bike path. We also enjoyed the T. Falls. The location is great and we enjoyed having our coffee down by the water and the view of the bridge. We would definitely come back.

Beautiful location and outside of the property, inside has potential
Our stay at Diane's property was overall a memorable experience. We had a good time. The location is breathtaking with beautiful views of the Mackinac bridge and Mackinac island, short distance away from the Mackinac Island Ferry transportation for those hoping to visit that magical place. Diane was very helpful throughout the process and quickly responded to any questions we had, both via email and calls. Great professionalism and customer service. That lady is a pleasure to deal with! The only items with an opportunity for improvement would be clearly identifying the lodging (the email indicated to look for Lem's Paradise #2, which in our mind meant the door #2. Since there are multiple buildings and one with multiple doors on it, it took us a few minutes to figure out which building and room was ours). After an entire day of driving, it would help to have more user-friendly signs to figure out without a doubt quickly where to go. This might have been us just being tired from the drive, we ended up asking one other guest on the property for help and he was able to point us in the right direction. The accommodations were very modest (which is ok), yet the inside greeted us with an unpleasant smell (we needed to open up the windows for a few hours to air the smell out), the couches appeared old and as if they needed a good cleaning (we covered them with sheets we brought from home, which solved the problem), there were dozens of dead flies stuck in the kitchen ceiling lights (one of them the cover was broken), and what appeared as a dirty shower floor prevented us from taking a shower during our stay there. These few items did not change the fact that the property on the outside was magical with beautiful colorful lighting by the building, a comfortable bench by the lake to sit and enjoy the sunsets, plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors overall. These are all fixable - even buying covers for the couches would already improve the first impression, cleaning and replacing the lights in the kitchen, and making sure that the air quality is fresh as the guests enter the room. Overall - I think we would go back there again if the above improvements were made.

The light fixture was repaired (and dead bugs removed). We also purchased a new futon mattress since your visit - I assume that was what you were referring to. It was looking well used. The sofa and love seat are actually in great condition and are steam cleaned regularly. The shower floor?? The tile is older but cleaned thoroughly between guests. A quick call or text and we would have addressed your issues right away. It's most helpful to let us know your concerns immediately to allow us the opportunity to resolve them while you are with us. A little slice of Heaven on earth
Minutes from MAC. City & minutes to Boyne City. Centrally located. The place was nice had all you need if you were on a budget. Close enough to the U.P that we had day trips all three days. Came back got our suits on & went for a swim. We were located right across from the Mackinac Island. Host & hostess were really nice people. We are definitely planning on staying with them again soon.. had a wonderful time..

Great location and stay
This was a great renovated motel into a lakeside cottage. The property is beautiful and has a great lakefront, the lake is high so the beach was small but that’s not the fault of the property, and my kids still loved it. The view of the Mackinaw bridge at sunset on the lakefront alone are worth the stay and the view of the night sky are amazing being a little further from town. I would highly recommend this property, it’s not luxury accommodations but for the price it was comfortable and spacious.

Perfect Spot!
My husband and I went here for our mini-moon and it was a perfect get-away! You're 6 miles away from downtown Mackinaw City so there's no chaos! It was a cozy spot for the 2 of us and we LOVED the beach! You can see the island perfectly looking out and the bridge! The cottage had everything we needed! We will definitely be back :)

We enjoyed our stay! The room was very clean, the view was beautiful. The location was convenient because we were just a few miles away from Mackinaw city. The only down side to this property is its on US 23 and its a bit noisy at night. As I am sure all locations on US 23 are. The owners were very friendly and helpful with letting us know what local attractions we could do with our dog. Unfortunately, we wont' be back since they have changed their policy to "no pets".

Beautiful property, excellent location
I really enjoyed discovering this property and staying here. The size of Lems II is perfect and comfortable and wonderfully quiet. It was clean and you can tell has been well cared for. Deb was on the property but I hardly knew it, except for when I needed to ask for some help. I was very grateful she was there when I arrived because I did have trouble opening the lock box for the key to the room. This property is just down the road from Mackinaw City so I was able to do everything I wanted to as far as tourist stuff is concerned. But it is away from the hustle and bustle which is what I wanted. I definitely plan to come back here. Thanks so much for a lovely, quiet week.

With Wilderness State park and my personal favorite, headlands dark sky park minutes away, this property gives you dynamic views of the lake, the stars and alot of options to fill your day. Great concept for a pet friendly accomodation in MAckinaw
Our over all experience was pretty good. We were a little discouraged that the bed did not seem to be queen size. I believe it is full size. I brought my own sheets as I do and they were too big for the bed! My husband and I are larger size and usually fit nicely in a queen but we actually ended up sleeping separately! We were also told about the large beach area but found mostly weeds in that area! I do recommend that the furniture in the room be taken off the rollers as we had a couple of incidents where the bed and couch moved as we were getting up and this can be a danger. Another suggestion would be to hang towel racks for the bathroom towels to dry. The T.V. would make a hasty noise when we first turned it on but that would go away. Satellite would be nice! It was so nice having the kitchen! This room worked out wonderful for us even though there were a few disturbances. They would not deter us from coming back. We look forward to renting it again. Our dogs very much enjoyed their stay and had a wonderful time.

You were right about the beds and I've corrected that on the webpage. They were changed this year and I missed changing the description. That was a brand new TV and we discovered it was defective. The owners have since replaced it and the antennae with a new model. We try very hard to provide a nice, clean accommodation for guests with pets. I'm glad it worked out for you. I hope when you return next year, you'll give us 5 stars! Diane
