Excellent for a weekend break

Excellent hotel - top amenities. Very lovely rooms and comfortable beds. Ideally located next to central station. Very helpful staff, particularly Samy who provided great recommendations and even walked us to a restaurant round the corner on our first night. Would love to come back for a longer visit.

Superior room with a canal view

Pros: Rooms are well furnished with all the necessary amenities and plenty of storage space. The laminate flooring is much nicer than carpet.
Cons: Customer service was a bit lacking at times, the concierge also wasn't that helpful.
Good hotel centrally located, close to the Centraal station. Room was clean and well furnished in a modern style which we really liked. Loved the USB ports in electrical sockets and heated rail in the bathroom. We also had robes and slippers available (superior room). It can get quite loud in the room at night if your room faces on to the street or the canal side, particularly on the lower floors. This part of town is full of restaurants and bars so you will hear noise most nights. Request a quiet room away from the street at check in. There was a smallish gym that was always empty and well stocked with free water bottles and fruit. A couple of nights there was a loud party in one of the event rooms off the lobby but it didn't disturb us once we left the expansive lobby. The staff was okay. There was a bit of an issue with our breakfast not being cancelled when we requested it but it was fixed pretty quickly. We had breakfast one morning and found the buffet offering tasty and with extensive range of foods. Not a good value for money though. The free wifi was pretty good. I would stay there or at any NH hotels again.

Great location

Lovely hotel which can pretty much be seen from the main train station centraal. So brilliant location , near to red light district but can be easily avoided also! Lovely restaurants and bars surrounding Hotel staff really friendly, room was nice (lovely shower!) rooms could be a little bigger but then your not in them for long! Nice varied breakfast not substantial on the hot front but the usual choice to please everyone!

Poor customer service

There was one particular front desk personnel that did not appeared welcoming and friendly. The double bed room was definitely not the best choice made for a couple to sleep in. Over all the hotel is very well kept and clean. I would simply not return due to the customer service my wife and I received from the one employee. We did not have a confrontation or anything with the employee he was simply not a happy person and we felt like he was forced to check us in. Over all if they evaluated that one single employee and changed his attitude they can have my business back.

Lovely hotel, great location, friendly service, clean, new and only thing it lacked was a spa! Would of been nice to have use of a steam room at the very least.

Location, service, comfort

From the warm welcome, to the detail for excellent service, this hotel provides comfort in the busy centraal station area of Amsterdam. The Expedia booking offered a price we could afford or this hotel would not have fit our travel budget.

Just ok. Not 5 star

Honestly not sure how this hotel is rated 5 star. On my confirmation it said shower/tub combo for superior room. I got to room and had shower only. I went to front desk and was told that if I wanted to keep my queen bed, those rooms are shower only and tubs are only in twin bed rooms. So I have to choose. I ended up moving to a twin bed room as the queen bed in the first room was rock hard and sqeeking. Could definitely not sleep on it. The linens were not premium bedding as mentioned to me. The pillows were half the size or normal pillows. A/C barely worked. I mentioned a couple things to the hotel staff with little care back...just the usual "well we have never heard that before."?? At 8pm, totally jet lagged, I asked for a couple coffee capsules. At 9pm when my room service came, I was told that they can't find the coffee as that's with housekeeping who are not on duty anymore. I then Said, you mean to tell me a 5 star hotel cannot get a guest a coffee capsule? Seriously? The girl clearly understood how her statement to me must have sounded. Then at 10:30pm a man showed up at my door miraculously with the coffee. At 7am I went to front desk to ask where I can have breakfast. I was greeted with "well your booking doesn't have breakfast included". Then twice during my breakfast by 2 different people I was advised my room doesn't include it. If you're looking for a true 5 star property this is NOT one. In future I would not use this property again due to the staff/comfort

Beautiful hotel in great location

Extremely nice hotel, however, the check in could be much improved if important information about the room and hotel in general was given to me. Be wary of the 2 level room because of a very steep staircase and extremely noisy because it faces the street bars. It was beautiful to look at but not practical for us. If you don't mind noise at night this room would be great. The hotel is immaculate with attention to detail. More info about the hotel would have been nice when we checked in too. Found out as we were leaving there was a chapel in the hotel..? I would recommend this hotel but be sure you know what room you're getting!
