Nice hotel, friendly staff. I checked in late 11:30 pm. I was worried I had to stay in basements, I checked rooms pic in hotel website to book the rooms not in basement. But I had to stay in basement.

Singel Hotel was perfect! Great breakfast, great location with proximity to the train station and everything in town is walkable. I would highly recommend!

Situated in a very nice and quiet location, the hotel is easy to reach at a walk distance of just 8 mins from the train station. The room was clean and comfortable and the stuff was warm and professional. Perhaps just the shower was a bit thiny and small. Overall I would strongly recommend it.

It was just ok. Very convenient with walking distance from the Centraal Station. Very friendly staff and accomodating. However, the rooms are VERY small. As a solo business traveler (carryon only), I would probably not stay here again because I barely had room to store my bag. I would have no idea how someone with a larger bag or even 2 people could stay in 1 room. It also was very hot, no A/C, fan didn't do much. No bars on the window so couldn't leave the window open over night as anyone could've just jumped in. Bed was comfortable however 1 pillow case was dirty. Shower in room flooded the bathroom so had entire stay using bathroom in water. Overall for the location and staff this is an ok hotel but if I had any other choice, I probably won't stay here again.

Super close to multiple options. Public transport connections tremendous. Picturesque location of hotel & around each district there’s something quaint. Fantastic restaurants close by. 10/10! Any future vacations to Amsterdam, it’ll be Hotel Singel I hope to stay, subject to availability!

Great property except that my room was freezing even with the heater on 5. I slept w a toque and 3 blankets. Heater on wall at top…heat rises, heater doesn’t heat room. Would stay in warmer months not winter.

Excellent Spot to Visit Amsterdam
Amazing location, perfect for the main station and tram lines. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was upgraded for free when we arrived. Overall excellent spot! Only issue we had was the shower had a small fitting that fell off and the extractor fan didn’t work in the bathroom. But very minor issues.

Great place
The hotel is in a great location. It’s central enough being about 5 minutes walk from Centraal station but is in a quiet area which was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Conveniently located
Very conveniently located in the center of Amsterdam, close to the train station, but in a quiet area so you can have a good night sleep. Note : single rooms are really tiny, so don't plan to spend too much time in the room, and the mattresses are soft, which can be a problem if you have a sensitive back (like me). Breakfast is very good, and the staff very friendly and keen to help.

It's a fine hotel but nothing more. Service was just okay, the location is good and in a quiet place, but the noise within the hotel and between the rooms is quite bothersome. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and the staff did not seem to do anything to prevent smoking inside. Room smelled of various types of smoke each night.

I couldn't go to stay in the hotel beacause of lockdown in the UK and the restrictions. The Hotel refused to postpone my booking so I lost the 495.00 Euro payment I had already made. Absolute Scumbags.

The European Union is not allowing travelers from the US due to COVID. This hotel would not allow me to change my reservation until next year. I was not asking for my money back, in fact, they have had it for nine months. They simply said "No". I am our $1901 for a five night's stay. I won't be staying with them when I go next year.

Very good experience
Very good experience .. check in and out was a quick breeze.. a special thanks to the nice lady (i forgot her name .. so sorry) she helped me out and suggested to have a nice hot drink at check out as it was down pouring outside .. the air conditioning was a bit loud considering i was on the 4th floor but you get used to it.. very convenient spot to get around the city it is centrally located and yet feels quiet and very safe .. i’d definitely come and stay again there next time !!

Singel Hotel is a ripoff
My wife and I are retires on a fixed retirement income. We had a bucket list trip planned to Ireland, Scotland, Belgium and the Netherlands, places we have never been before. We had to cancel our trip due to the pandemic and the closure of the EU borders to US travelers. Singel Hotel refused to return our paid in full reservation funds even though we had no choice but to cancel our reservation and trip

Our trip was cancelled due to Covid-19, this rotten hotel would not refund our money. Hotels.com did nothing to help us. Very disappointed in both.

Then you probably booked a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation which means you get a lower rate because you can't cancel it without loosing the money.

Terrible experience
There is no good things to say about this hotel as the management only cares about itself and there is no such thing as customer service. We were not able to visit during April because of Covid19 and were denied of refund or even a voucher (we wanted to come back so we are ok changing the dates). We are reasonable people and understand it’s hard on everyone but the hotel management was not only unresponsive for most the time and there is no care from their end for customers. I would not recommend booking ever to anyone. We will not come back to this hotel. Every bit of this review is true.

Disappointing Room
The location was excellent. Great front desk staff. However, the condition and size of room was very disappointing. There was a stale and stagnant scent in the room, which was unpleasant, and no ventilation in the bathroom. While the beds and furniture were clean, when we looked up at the ceiling, the light fixture was very dusty and we could see cobwebs. They also crammed 3 beds into the room but there was no space to move around or even store our 3 small sized suitcases. Just an overall disappointing room to stay in.

We had a canal view room on the first floor, which was small even by Amsterdam standards and subject to a disturbing amount of street noise. The walls between rooms seemed thin so sounds from neighbouring rooms were also quite audible. The bathroom was very basic with a shower with just a drain in the floor and a cheap shower curtain, so the floor had to be mopped up after every use. The bed was also uncomfortable with two saggy soft single mattresses pushed together to act as a queen. On the positive side, staff were pleasant and the location is convenient to many city attractions.

We are sorry to hear you were a bit disappointed about your room. Since the hotel is located right in the heart of the city centre and rooms with canal view are located on the street side some noise is unavoidable and somewhat to be expected. You reserved a Twin room with 2 single beds. If you wish a queen bed, next time please reserve a double room. Regarding the bathroom we will investigate which improvements can be made. Nevertheless we hope you enjoyed your stay

Absolutely amazing staff and beautiful little hotel. Great location and amazing coffee every morning. If you’re after a central location to stay in Amsterdam I highly recommend this location. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out the staff was always there to answer any questions we had, as well as recommendations for attractions and places to eat. 100% this is out for to hotel for Amsterdam trips in the future. Great Hotel for train and all sightseeing.
Fully renovated and comfortable hotel with lovely staff. Perfectly located for train and sightseeing. Room was a good size and very clean. Had Nespresso machine in room which was nice. Would stay again.
