Croatia Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

History and culture lovers should never pass up an opportunity to visit the magical country of Croatia. Cheap hotel deals in Croatia are available through services such as Expedia, and the types of hotels in Croatia range from modern structures with top amenities to small, personalized bed-and-breakfast establishments tucked away in residential village neighborhoods. The picturesque, medieval towns along the Adriatic coast are the most popular tourist spots in the small nation, but there are many other worthwhile parts of the country to visit for those who are not aficionados of seaside culture and landscapes.

There are many fine inland Croatia hotels for those who prefer a rugged mountain ambiance over that of the seashore. Croatia even has something to offer those who can't decide on a sojourn by the sea or an adventure among a wild mountain environment. The Kvarner gulf features mountains rising high right next to the rugged coastline of the Adriatic Sea. If you want to spend your days enjoying the blooming flora of an alpine meadow and your evenings sampling seafood prepared in authentic Croatian culinary tradition, you should book rooms in one of the coastal communities such as Lovran or Opatija. The seaside community of Opatija is the oldest resort village in Croatia and is a well-loved destination of families who have been returning to it for many generations. Croatia hotel deals provide excellent value for families or other groups of people who are traveling together, and it is usually possible to find good prices on group rates when there are many people in your party.

If you love dreaming of times gone by while walking among old castles set amid mysterious forest glades, a visit to Central Croatia will leave you enthralled. The Old Town district of the small city of Varaždin is particularly appealing to history buffs. The city also hosts various festivals during different times of the year including music festivals that feature special performances by artists such as Bob Dylan and Carlos Santana.

Making reservations for Croatia hotel packages is an excellent way to see the mysteriously medieval country of Croatia. River cruises are also available and can sometimes be had at discount prices if you book them far enough in advance. Contacting Expedia for information is recommended if you are looking for the best information on the latest cheap Croatia hotel deal.

"Great location, good facilities, but noisy nights!"
Fantastic setting with lovely outdoor pools. Beautiful views and kind, friendly staff. Dinner was good, but buffet breakfast a bit disappointing - some fruit was old, the waffles tasted odd and a yogurt was 'off' Room was compact but comfortable, but corridors were noisy - and Bohemian Rhapsody at 3am echoing down them was an unwelcome 'extra'!

"Perfect location in Hvar - rooms not so great."
Entering the hotel everything seems big, clean bright & modern, so after this the room we had was a little disappointing - small, dark & a bit shabby. But we were only staying one night & the room rate was reasonable so not too upset. The positives are The location overlooking Hvar harbour. The breakfast - amazing value for the money, with tables looking out across Hvar. You can use the sister hotels facilities, which look nice but we didn't have time. Price. negatives The dark rooms. We had a room at the back when we opened the windows the smell from the kitchens came into the room so we had to keep the windows shut. Rooms at the front would be better. But we only stayed one night so this wasn't a problem.

"Great hotel close to the old city"
Overall the hotel was great and the staff amazing, friendly and hospitable. We were greeted by the guest services manager who always checked up on us, ensuring we were having a great time. The only small complaint would be that being a Diamond hilton member I would have thought we would get an upgrade which we didn't (we booked a suite but a nicer room was available per their reservations site but I didn't want to complain). Regardless I'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

    "Fantastically friendly family hotel."
We've just enjoyed a ten day stay at the Valamar Club with two teenagers and have had a wonderful time. All staff, from reception to restaurant to room cleaners, were extremely friendly throughout our stay. We went for the all inclusive light option and really enjoyed the food, and the local wine and Lowenbrau lager were very pleasant too. Whilst I've read some negative reviews about the wi-fi at the hotel, we experienced little difficulty with this overall, with only the odd loss of signal at times in our rooms.

"Great Hotel shame about the sun beds."
We stayed in the marina view rooms of this hotel, this part of the complex was very modern and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they would go out of their way to please you. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with lots of variety, the buffet was constantly being re-filled and the service was very good. The sun bed situation at this hotel is ridiculous for such a highly rated hotel. The pool area is very small for the size of the hotel, meaning the sun beds around the pool area are in demand, this consequently results in people queueing before 8am to get a sun bed. This area is gated and at 8am the pool staff open the gates for a stampede of people to get a sun bed around the pool area, is this really what people on holiday want or expect? The pool staff then announced, any sun beds left unattended for two hours would have their towels removed from the sun beds, this was not monitored properly and caused further problems. This really is an issue that needs addressing, as it is so disappointing for a hotel that otherwise has such high standards

We had a great time here staying in the self catering apartments. They were clean modern and had great facilities. There is no kettle but there is a filter coffee machine which we made excellent use of. It says on website cleaning is twice a week but were got a visit every day including fresh towels. The staff were helpful and there was lots of places to eat on site at the resort. The yacht club was particularly yummy!
