We had such a great time staying at Gilberts. We stayed 7 nights and they had live music 4 of the nights, including a rocking 70's, 80's band on Saturday night. The food was pretty good and the bar was great. The servers were attentive and recognized us every night after the first night. The property is kind of old but they kept it very clean with a crew cleaning everything everyday. We loved our room (306). It had a large community deck with plenty of furniture and great views on one side and a private screened deck on the other side. Lots of wildlife around too. We saw a manatee, a couple American crocs, a whale and tons of fish, birds and lizards. We only spent one full day at the resort, other than that we were only there in the mornings (pretty good complimentary breakfast) and evenings. Being at Key Largo, it was a great location for touring the Keys (reccomend Key West and Bahia Honda State Park) and also heading up to Miami for a couple days. The pool was open everyday and clean and we enjoyed a dip every night. If you are looking for a ultra quiet and private resort, this may not be for you but if you are looking for a fun spot with lots of things to do and see (like the spectacular sunsets), then this might be just the place you are looking for.

I had a blast staying at this property. The grounds were beautiful. So many FREE activities to keep us busy! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! The rooms were small but nice. The only issue I had was the A.C. In our room didn’t get that cold. Other than that I would give this property 10 stars. I will definitely stay here again!
