Fred at the front desk was super helpful and friendly. Our room was not as clean as it should be. I don’t think the shower was cleaned at all. There was shampoo on the shower door, black dirt in the shower floor, long black hair in the shower wall, candy wrappers on the floor, and a pony tail holder.

Property dated. Elevator out of service, safe in room out of order, desk chair broken, ice machines out of order. Would not return to this property. Well below Holiday Inn standards.

Very clean property and room. Staff went out of the way to get us a roof after telling them we couldn’t check in at 3 has to be before. They accommodated us by finding a room for us. Would recommend this Hotel anytime!!

Good experience overall - staff were very friendly and helpful and everything was very clean. We just seemed to get the room that needed a bunch of things fixed - phone didn’t work, sliding shower doors were broken so there was barely enough room to squeeze through the opening to get into the shower, sink faucet leaked water all over the counter every time it was used, toilet flush handle had to be pushed back up every time you flushed so it wouldn’t keep running, outlets on the wall under the TV didn’t work, and one of the can lights in the ceiling by the window flickered constantly when it was on. It was also a little surprising that during our 3-night stay, the cleaning staff didn’t really do much to our room other than empty the trash and replace a couple used towels & rags that we used on the first day. The breakfasts were great though, so thank you for that!

We stay at this location every time we cruise. It is very convenient on our way to Galveston. The complimentary breakfast is always good and the staff is friendly. We highly recommend this property to our friends and family.

Overall our stay was okay. We only stayed one night. I slept pretty good. The bathroom was upgraded. Which I liked. Above the shower looks like there has been a flood or leak at some point. Our bathroom sink was clogged. My husband tried to undo it and pulled out clumps of hair and who knows what else. So gross. The carpet was dirty. Lastly, the smell of the place is bad. Idk what the smell is though. Mildew? The pool? Idk. I thought maybe it was just the lobby area, but no. We were on the 4th floor and it smelled the same.

The woman who checked me in made it seem like it was a huge ordeal to ask for 1 extra pillow. I am pregnant and needed the extra support for my back and I had to explain twice why I needed the extra pillow. I didn’t notice until the day of check out that there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. If I had realized this at check-in I would have immediately requested a new room. The whole floor of floor 2 smelled of water damage and mustiness. They definitely have water damage somewhere.

weekend getaway
We came to Galveston for a weekend family getaway and the prices on the Island were a bit too high for us. We decided to drive to Texas City and let me tell you that it is so worth the drive back and forth! Breakfast was awesome and room were clean and all the staff was awesome!
