An awful experience. Turns out, there is a difference between an Executive room for three & an Executive Suite, though this is unclear on the hotel's website & also at Expedia. When we arrived, after traveling for more than 24 hours, our room was not ready. (It was after check-in time.). They arranged another room, which turned out to be directly across from construction. After we checked in, we heard hammering & drilling. The room was tiny, with the sofa pushed up directly against the bed. No room to maneuver & the TV didn't work. Expedia was unhelpful & told me to go to the lobby; I did, in my slippers. I explained the situation & was told that I had booked a "basic" executive room, not a suite. I asked if the room we had been given was exactly like the one I had booked, because it did not look so from the pictures. Barely functioning, I asked for an upgrade - given this was a VIP booking. Told I would have to pay 65 CHF/night, I burst into tears, a manager was called, and they agreed to 35 CHF/night. At that point, I would have done anything for some sleep. Breakfast was 30 CHF/day/person, & when stores were closed for Easter, I asked for a water at the bar and was charged 9 CHF. For an allegedly 4-star hotel, service was appalling. Housekeeping did a nice job, and some staff were friendly. But overall, an extremely disappointing stay. We often travel internationally & it's been some time since I've had such a terrible time. Would not recommend this hotel.
