The room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast good and the staff very friendly. However the place is not as advertised. The pool was closed and looked like it had been closed for some time. No bar or restaurant (s). Just open for breakfast. There is another resort nearby that has these facilities so if they are important to you beware.

Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy our stay at Il Poggio. While the service was excellent and staff was super friendly, the rest wasn't great. First of all, the name is deceiving, it's not a luxury country resort, it's an Agriturismo with a pool. Secondly, our room was dangerous to sleep in, as it has a lot of humidity and it was mouldy - unfortunately, we only noticed it after the reception closed at 4pm and couldn't do anything or change the room (the property was also full, I don't think it would be possible to change it). Because of mold and humidity, it was very hard to sleep. The owners know about the condition of the room, yet, the only thing they did was to put aroma diffusers in the room to try to overtake the smell of humidity and mold, which wasn't very successful. Thirdly, the shower pipes were broken and were leaking water from the ceiling, which was gross. Finally, the walls were so thin that we could hear the dog barking all the time at the room upstairs. Moreover, there is absolutely nothing nearby and nothing to do at the property after dark (everything is closed, there is no reception area).

Heaven in the hills
Lovely location, nice pool with great view of the mountains. Room large and nicely decorated. Bed was hard to sleep on, felt the springs. Buffet breakfast wonderful especially the uniquely made cappuccinos.

Il Poggio is certainly in a lovely spot in the countryside not far from Taormina. Our room was big and stylish with lovely furnishings, big bathroom. Unfortunately, I developed a nasty chest infection and couldn't try one of the restaurants Tiziana suggested. Instead my partner tried to cook simple pasta in our kitchen and had to pay €10 extra for gas. Apparently, room was booked as hotel room not as apartment, we didn't know we had choice. Also, we just couldn't sleep due to a really hard bed. We were late to breakfast as a result but Tiziana prepared a few items for us which was lovely of her. All in all, we felt il Poggio somehow missed a trick and lacked a little softness, a few comfortable sitting areas on terraces, soft cushions here and there would make this place very special.

Great agriturismo with wonderful panoramic views, delicious breakfast and very friendly and welcoming staff. The only problem for us was that we stayed in a ground floor apartment and some noisy people moved into the upstairs apartment on our second night. Perhaps some better soundproofing of the ceiling would help. But apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.

A pool with a view!
We stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed it! The hotel is not far from Taormina or local attractions (the geological and botanical park nearby is worth a visit), with wonderful views from the pool area. As the hotel only had six rooms, breakfast and the pool area were never crowded and the staff were excellent.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the countryside
This hotel was very scenic, hidden gem in the middle of the Sicilian countryside. It has a lovely swimming pool and cosy rooms with cooking facilities. Peace and quietness everywhere, but close to may beautiful geological sites (gole di Alcantara) and half hour drive to Taormina. The agriturismo associated to the hotel is a 5 minutes drive from it (the hotel itself does not have a restaurant) serves amongst the best food, Sicilian cuisine at its finest. Breakfast was amazing, with freshly baked cakes and nice local produce. Staff was friendly and very pleasant. Thoroughly recommended.

Location and pool are amazing. Staff very friendly and attentive. A special THANKS to Tiziana. We also lived the company of Blackie, a sweet cat that spends the summer there. Highly recommended!

Lovely small hotel with a pool (but chilly for a swim this time of year though). Beautiful views, quiet location. Amazing choice of foods for breakfast. Couple of problems, air con and lack of hot water but both quickly resolved. I would definitely book here again but would have an apartment rather than just a room just so that I could have a cup of tea when I was yes one 😊

Serene country hotel with great pool and views
We arrived to be met with a glass of refreshing pineapple juice and a nice room . The pool was virtually a private pool , deep enough to swim in , and with great views of the hills and down to the sea in the distance . Breakfast was a traditional extensive Sicilian buffet . Try to use satnav to get there , as the hotel is not in the town of Graniti . We only spent one night but wished we had spent longer , and hope to return . This was nicer than some 4 star hotels we have stayed in .

Excellent hotel
Excellent facilities and friendly staff. You can eat at their sister hotel a mile down the road. Otherwise you do need to drive out to eat, or to see any sights.

A quiet relaxing stay
Good location in remote area (need car). Great agriturismo just next door (Paradise restaurant). Hotel was full, but we still felt like we were the only ones there. Nice swimming pool with great view. Very kind staff. Room spacious, but could maybe do with a couple of extra things such as wine glasses, chopping board and a full length mirror. Apartment rooms are cleaned once every three days.

Very good with some place to improve.
Very good option in this region. We were in the appartment. Very helpful personal. Good breakfast and amazing views. To be improved the kitchen tools, dishes, etc. It was very poor equiped. Heating sustem did not work during oir stay and it was a bit cold, but not so bad. Bath was a bit old. Maybe a bit over priced comparing with other places in Sicily.

Bella struttura vicina alle grotte di Alcantara, camere arredate con gusto, bagni spaziosi, colazione nella quale vengono serviti anche piccoli assaggi di frittate, rustici e soprattutto la spremuta di arancia "vera". Possibilità di cenare nella struttura gemella vicina. Accoglienza super da parte della brava e simpatica Tiziana. Posto da consigliare

Ruhiges Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Service
Hotel ist ruhig in den Bergen gelegen. Am besten nicht mit Google Maps fahren, sondern lieber irgendwann auf Schildbeschreibung umsteigen, sonst landet man auf dubiosen Feldwegen. Mega Service. Das Personal ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Kümmern sich um alles und man kann alles nachfragen. Hier wird Kundenservice groß geschrieben und ernst genommen. Super! Zimmer war groß, Bett gemütlich, alles super sauber. Tägliche Reinigung und Bettenmachen. Pool war leider noch nicht bereit (gab wohl Probleme bei der Wasserleitung oder es war noch nicht Pool-Saison), man kann aber den Pool im Partnerhotel benutzen. Hierfür braucht man aber ein Auto. Aber das hat man vermutlich sowieso, weil man sonst nicht zu dem Hotel kommt. WLAN hat bei uns leider nicht funktioniert. Geräte haben sich nicht verbunden. Personal hat sich aber sehr bemüht WLAN bei uns zum Laufen zu bringen. Leider ohne Erfolg. Aber der Wille zählt.

Virkeligt dejligt hotel. Højt beliggende med udsigt til Etna og havet, mellem bjerge i rolige omgivelser. Godt udgangspunkt for oplevelser på Siciliens vestkyst. Gode store lejligheder. Sødt og hjælpsomt personale. En bil er nødvendig.

Das Hotel war sehr schwer zu finden - Anschrift nicht im Navi/wenig Beschilderung. In der 1. Nach waren wir die einzigsten Gäste im Haus. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich; das Essen im dazugehörigen Il Boggio sehr gut.

Bello ma scomodo per arrivare alle camere. Per pranzo o cena se un cliente vuole rimanere in hotel bisogna andare ad un'altro hotel degli stessi proprietari distante qualche chilometro. Per il pagamento se non effettuato in contanti ma con carta si deve regolare sempre all'altro hotel.

Magnifique emplacement en plein coeur de vallée avec une magnifique vue à 360 degrés, la terrasse de la piscine vous offre la possibilité de nager en regardant les oliviers ! Bonheur, chambre tout confort et très spacieuses, petit déj sympa avec confiture et miel locaux. Personnel un peu lunatique et bizarre, le responsable nous a conseillé d'aller à un équivalent de leader price pour acheter de bon produit locaux... Mauvaise pioche... Véhicule indispensable
