Bed Bugs! Terrible Service!

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Cons: cleanliness. Bed bugs!
After the first night stay, we spotted dozens of bites on our body. We first thought they were from mosquitoes, but after inspecting the bed, we realize they had a terrible bed bug problem. Staff were horrible, not friendly and said there was nothing they could do (not even move us another room). Don't stay here!

Hotel Pasatiempo does not have bed bugs, this client did not want to pay her bill, became abusive with us, and was looking for an excuse not to pay. We are more than happy to respond to any complaints or requests, but we can not allow ourselves to be blackmailed with false accusations.

Overall nice place. The only problems I had were, one had to give seperate deposit to get a pool towel and the breakfast choices. Didn't offer the typical Cosat Rican breakfast. Disappointing.

Excellent staff. Nice small hotel oasis!

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: Staff friendly and great bar service, rooms good size for families, price economical, pool / grounds well maintained, local fauna and flora abound
Cons: Room amenities could be better.
Location: Short walk to Tamarindo Beach, close to great restaurants - Green Papaya, La Baula and Seasons - Also, bank next door which was convenient.
Great small hotel that feels roomy! The staff are all so nice and helpful. Breakfast is made to order - the fresh fruit and eggs were delicious. Live music adds an element you don't get many places! Borrow a surf board and head to the beach or stay and swim in the lovely pool. Howler Monkeys, iguanas, many birds and even funny crabs for a real local feel.

Great hotel in Tamarindo

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Nice cozy smallish hotel just on the edge of downtown Tamarindo. Really cool hotel style, had a great pool and bar with super friendly staff. The location was great and with a short minute walk to all the restaurants and bars, and another few minutes to the beach and hotel row. We got the breakfast included package and it was well worth it. The food and snacks were good, but we would often go out for the other meals to mix it up. Great happy hour specials twice / day to hang out by the pool with and enjoy. Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is what Costa Rica is all about.

Pros: The facilities were great, and the staff was awesome. Especially nice that the staff spoke so highly of their manager, Randy. We agree, he's awesome
Cons: More hooks in the bathroom.
Location: Shopping, restaurants, surf, swim, kayak, tours.
This hotel was comfortable, relaxing, well maintained, with a friendly and helpful manager, Randy, and staff. The food was awesome. We had our breakfast in the morning and were ready for our day. We ate one dinner there as a large group, and we were all happy with our meals and the service. A short little walk to the beach is great exercise. We enjoyed the pool area as well as the different sitting areas. I couldn't have asked for more!

A little oasis.

Really enjoyed my stay, and particularly the staff. They were dead on with their recommendations for everything. [my favorite was a massage at the spa a few doors down - one of the best I've ever had. Ask for Norma.]. Facilities are particularly comfortable after the AC kicks in, and it's basically a bunch of bungalows around a pool. Very nice pool and tiki eating area.

Delightful Foliage Retreat

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Wonderful family owned small hotel. The grounds are tropical and lush with trees, plants and nature. People are friendly and helpful. Arranged all our excursions and actually saved us 200$ on one of our private Flights. Food is delicious. Rooms are small but very comfortable and cute. Pool is nice and again surrounded by plants trees and sometimes monkeys in trees. 5 minute walk to to beach.

Charming property, good value

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: The staff was really great. Always very helpful with my many questions and requests. Very accommodating. Driver, Orlando was wonderful too.
Cons: They don't use bleach on the white towels. A good thing for me, maybe not for others.
Location: El Bodega, really nice little café for lunch and breakfast directly across the road. Great smoothie Green Papaya, lunch and dinner around the corner.
I stayed at Pasatiempo for a week for my daughter's wedding on 5/30/15. Had my own casita, # 3, overlooking the pool with covered, shaded sitting area. Air conditioning, and hot water were great. Bed comfortable. This reasonably priced property is close walking distance to the main strip on the beach, restaurants, market, pharmacy, etc. ( About a 5 - 7 minute walk ) Be sure to bring earplugs for the evenings when the bar there has live music. I did and it was fine. ( and I am a light sleeper )
